Rozen and some Ruby Red Fashion Friends Rhyme time…

REMINDER:
Just wanted to remind you, Julie’s 1970’s dress set ends this evening. (Tuesday) If you want to check it out, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

This will be quick…but a little bit witty
You can all see, Rozen’s Oh, SO Pretty!

Her turquois-y dress with its pretty white lace
Makes her just beam…. now look at that face!

Her sleeves need some work, perhaps some sleeve caps

I still need to hem it and sew on those snaps

I worked like a bee, but ran out of time

Now I’m all done, it’s the end of my rhyme! :o)

Now Joy, we ALL want to know, how did it go when Masha arrived today at your house? There MUST be some story you can tell us! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Rozen’s dress is coming together beautifully, Jeanne! Looking forward to seeing how you accessorize it.

Yes, Joy, we’re all waiting for your latest tale of the harrowing delivery of dolly goods!!

Rozen looks so very happy in that pretty dress, Jeanne! Like Charlotte, I am curious about the accessories! A hat, bow, purse, shoes, ??? This dress can be dressed up or down.

And yes, what happened yesterday, Joy? We are all ears!

Jeanne, I love the dress, she is so pretty in it. The rhyme was great, you have another profession.

Yes, Joy, we are all waiting to hear about Masha arriving..

Ah Rozen, what’s not to love. Such a cutie. I’m thinking that there may be embroidery added on the lace? I can’t tell if the dress is hemmed yet, but I prefer it shorter. Maybe some outdoor photos with that beautiful green grass in the distance? Not sure where Rozen, is headed, but she may need a straw hat to keep the sun off her delicate complexion. 🙂
As to the delivery of Masha yesterday, let’s just say I got caught big time. 🙁 Early in the day, I checked Informed Delivery and it said, “Out for Delivery”, by 6:15. What?? Our regular carrier usually does not work Monday, so I thought maybe some poor carrier would have to do part of our route as a sub. The day wore on and other person took off to pick up some things at the store. Perfect. Maybe the sub will make the delivery while other person is conveniently gone. I saw the mail person, “walking”, with a mail bag. Unheard of in our hilly neighborhood. But he had a few packages as well. Came up to the door and left the mail. I quickly stepped out, but there was no package. Where is it? I called out to him as he was still on the driveway, “I was supposed to get a package?”, but he didn’t turn around. I could clearly see that he had in earbuds and couldn’t hear a word that I had said. Sad. Then, I thought, oh, he’s heading back to the truck from his walk and will just deliver the package later. Never saw him again. Other person returned from the store. Frequently peeking outside scanning for a mail truck, the day continued. We even had to leave to do errands and upon our return, I perused the porch, hoping I might be able to create a diversion and be able to relocate said package, but nothing rectangular greeted us. As the time ticked on, I again checked Informed Delivery thinking that my package may have been delivered elsewhere. Nope. Still said by 6:15. Finally gave up, as 6:15 rolled on by. Other person was in the kitchen where the window looks directly onto the porch and street. And then, I heard the words. “SOMEONE’S DELIVERING ANOTHER DOLL FOR YOU!” UGH. Caught. It was 6:25. Other person beat me to the door, and the friendly mail person had an electronic clipboard for signing. What’s with that? This item had been presigned for online. He engaged other person asking for his signature. OP asked for a pen. The young guy looked amazed and told him “just sign with your finger.” Well, that perplexed other person immensely. He kept telling the person, it won’t work. And finally, I can’t do this as he fumbled trying to sign with his finger. I was laughing, to myself of course. 🙂 The guy was so nice and finally said, that’s okay. OP looked quite relieved and stepped back enough inside so that I could squeeze through, thank the person, and snatch my quite large box. As the delivery person stared inside the house cave, he said he was trying to see the score of the Giants game on the tv. Obviously, this guy didn’t have in earbuds connected to his phone. That sparked OP immediately, and he told him the final score. He got so involved thinking about the game and relating the score, that somehow, the delivery signing embarrassment and doll box were forgotten. I again thanked the fun delivery person, and he went on his way. By that time, I had the box safely ensconced out of sight, in the black depths of the dolly kingdom. 🙂

Dear Joy, oh my goodness, I am still laughing. You are going to have to write an article for Doll News about your exploits. This is so funny.

      1. Hi Joy, that is just so funny! Amazing how OP knew at first it was a doll, but glad the game score provide the much needed distraction.

    2. You are so funny, Joy, and I am so happy for you. i just love Masha’s face! We always seem to need money for something and I elected to sell Ardyn because she was just too big and heavy to sew for. I made someone happy to get her. Thanks for your doll delivery story!

    3. Joy in Northern CA, you are so funny. I love reading about your capers.
Here too, I have “other person”, and routinely send him on an errand when mail person is due..

Dear Jeanne, what a cute poem and how appropriate. This is National Poetry Month!

Great poem and I love Rozen’s dress. Looking forward to seeing any embellishments and accessories.

Yes, Joy, you do need to share your dolly rescue efforts with other than the Sofa Sisters. i know all dolly lovers would really enjoy them and might have some of their own to share.

I finished a dress for my AGAT, Sam, yesterday. It’s a pretty little summer dress that had been on the drawing board for over a year. She had begun to despair I would ever get around to it. Other things just kept jumping ahead on the priority list.

I’m now working on a dress for my Paola Reina, Cleo. It’s been on the drawing board nearly as long as Sam’s. I’m making it to match a pair of shoes I love. This is one of the patterns I got from a woman in Russia. I had some problems printing it out but had no way to ask questions so I had to figure it out myself. Instead of being a pdf file it is an actual photo file so I did not have all the choices for printing I usually did. For this one I had to print “shrink to fit” which I never do but when I did the line to check that it was printing the correct size was right on.

We had a nice little cool front come through yesterday and brought our temps down to the 60s and 70s. It also brought some much needed rain but pushed back the outside work on the addition and the driveway now that everything is soaked.

Rozen’s eyes and her new dress look like a perfect match. Now comes the fun part — all the things that will go with the dress.

Another great adventure for Joy. Joy, have you considered finding or making labels to quickly apply to packages — “Household Cleaning Products,” “Gardener’s Supplies,” “Glamorize Bras,” “Sewing Supplies, Inc.”? It’s important to choose items of no interest to the Other Observer.

When I lived at my parents’ house, I knew if I got a book in the house and shelved, no one would ever notice it. The trick was getting it inside. Fortunately college students are always carrying books, and when bookbags became common, I immediately bought one.

Great idea on the books Marilyn. I’ve been able to take boxes and boxes of children’s books once collected, to the grands. So, that has cleared a tiny portion of space. 🙂

  8. What a fun poem and Rozen looks lovely in her new dress. I will say that there seems to be some partiality on your part where the Rubies are concerned. They seem to pop up between each of the other dolly models.. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing what’s next. I’ll bet she get a purse.

  9. Dear Jeanne,
The dress is so cute and the poem is very good. You have many talents.

    Dear Joy,
I always enjoy your adventures on how to get the dolls inside the house and pretend they have been always there. Thank you Joy for sharing these fun moments.

Have a very nice evening all.
