Charlotte and Ten Ping might be the happiest people on the planet

I planned on getting more done this weekend but I had to play catch up and Sunday afternoon my hubby invited our neighbor to come over and watch the NFL playoff games…and of course I had to watch them too!

After Mike left, I decided I better get on the ball and get in my sewing room.
Ten Ping raised her hand and asked if she could get a coat? I also remembered Charlotte mentioning pink was Ten Ping’s favorite…that Ten Ping “had told her one time!” :o) I couldn’t resist, so I looked for the thinnest, softest fur in my stash. I had that light brown mink faux fur I made Janie’s coat out of, but Ten Ping kept saying, “pink, pink, pink!” So I found this piece. It’s soft and silky and feels wonderful to the touch.

I have the basic coat constructed but haven’t looked at buttons yet…

We did decide on some silver shimmery thigh highs… (Sorry about the picture… I didn’t realize it was blurry…

She looks a little “fluffy” in it, but it’s one of those fabrics and colors that doesn’t photograph very well… everything just kind of blends together…

To minimize any bulk, I left it unlined but finished off my seams with a serger.

Hang tight and we’ll see what happens tomorrow!!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, my Gigi (one of TenPing’s kindergarten friends) has already gone to bed, but she will be thrilled to think that Auntie Jeanne was listening!! I’m sure she’s going to be pestering me to click “bid” as soon as it comes up for auction!! LOL

  2. Jeanne, I love the pink fluffy coat, and I am sure Ten PIng is thrilled!
I just want to thank all of you who sent such kind messages about my Simone and her doll’s pj/robe outfits. As some of you said, I hope they have a pj day at school so she can wear it there. They got a lot of snow at their home in Long Island, my son sent a photo of the path he had to shovel. A new experience for a guy who spent most of his life living in FL or CA!!
Hope all of you are well and not snowed it!

      Hi Sissy,
Well done! Simone is beautiful and her robe and pj’s are super cute. How proud she looks with her dolly in matching sleepwear! As Marilyn said definitely deserving of a frame. Love it!

Count me in with the Simone fans — that was a lovely picture and will eventually be a favorite of her own children. It needs framing.

You may think Ten Ping was in this for a pink coat, but I think she had a different motive — I think what she really wanted was silver stockings and maybe a simple silver shift to wear under that pretty coat.

Ten Ping reminds me of a baby bird with her new feathers. Sweet. I like Marilyn’s idea of the silver shift dress underneath. However, since it is the Chinese New Year of the Tiger, maybe some red and gold too?
Other person watched the games and our northern CA team go down to defeat by the dreaded Rams. On to baseball. I can watch that. 🙂

  5. Ten Ping does look like a fluffy baby bird🙂The thigh highs are so cute and a little shift under the coat would be a real plus. As always the accessories are always fun …you will come up with something fantastic.
    Have a good week!

Ten Ping is so precious anyway and in this sweet little pink coat she is absolutely adorable. You just want to pick her up and squeeze her but being so tiny that might not be a good idea. Can’t wait to see what is next for this ensemble.

Jeanne mentioned yesterday that we might be getting some of what she will be getting later in the week. I ran into my chorale director at the restaurant last night and she was a little concerned we may not be able to have rehearsal Thursday. We planned on starting up last week but our director had been exposed to COVID so she cancelled the start-up. She and her hubby are fine so we are on for this week. The temps are supposed to be in the 20s with precip during the day. Around here that doesn’t mean snow usually but ice.so we’re playing it by ear. But our spring music is difficult so we will have to make up these missed rehearsals. This was the program we planned for spring of 2020 when we shut down. We were about to perform the music when our concert was cancelled so we have done a lot of work on it, but that was two years ago and all of us are old folks so some – and the director – are concerned that they won’t remember without a lot more rehearsal. Fortunately, the only date we could get for the concert was early May, which is much later than usual, and the music may come back quickly so I don’t think another week of delay is going to be as much problem is anticipated.

Gloomy and rainy today. I would send Joy some of the rain we are having and supposed to have later this week if I could. Since we have warm days among the cold at this time of year, while the grass is not growing the clover and weeds are so less moisture would be good. Many say their winters are too long, but I wish ours were a bit longer. Mowing the “grass” between November and March is a pain.

Thanks so much for thinking of us and the needed rain. I have had to water a few plants as they are so dry. This is still January. Crazy.

Awe doesn’t Ten Ping look sweet! Love pink on her… it sure goes well with her new face up which I love! Can’t wait to see if you’ll be adding a hat or maybe a tiny snowman or both! : )

We received two feet of the white stuff on the 17th… the official measurement was 21 inches but with the wind, we had way more than 2 feet in the driveway. Our yard guy came to clear the drive three times that day. Yuck! A few days later it was 40 degrees but with that much snow all that happened was the top layer melted a bit and formed an icy crust on it all. Poor ten ping would be lost if she stepped out back for a photo shoot. LOL

Hope everyone is staying warm and healthy!
Anne hope the AC is working well : )

    Hugs
    Ingrid

Dear Jeanne, another lovely ensemble on the way to completion.

I have been working on some research/writing projects over the last few days so I have not been very active here.

I did get to watch the UFDC program called Passion For Fashion on Saturday. It was free to watch on FB, whether or not one had FB. It will be made available for re-viewing later.

Happy February 1 (tomorrow) to you and the Sofa Sisters. Only 90 days until May 1!
