“Almost Spring” is listed on Ebay…calling all Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls…

I was a busy girl today… even venturing outside in the freezing cold (our wind chill factor was 22 degrees) to get some new pictures of Freida’s outfit. It did help some, but as I was carrying her outside, I realized, this furry fabric, and even the skirt, wasn’t coral in color at all…it was pretty much a hot pink… very vibrant and pretty on her skin.

My suggestion is… if you like coral OR hot pink, this is one your girls will like! :o)

Here is the necklace the way “Jeanne Marie” did it… where’s Rebecca when I need her?

Here is a closeup picture of the fabric… so you can see the “lime” green colored design…

We took a few shots outside and when I came in I stripped her outfit off so I could do a group picture of what was included and the “lime” color turned out the best when I took a picture of it from above… it shows the colors pretty accurately…

You can see the listing by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE to be taken to the listing on Ebay…

Ingrid asked me who was next… I guess I need to make that my priority tomorrow… or decide on it tonight if possible… I’ll let you know!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

The outfit looks wonderful, Jeanne, and I’m sure your auction will go very well!!

Gigi (as always) is hoping you’ll do something for Ten Ping (and herself) next–and hopefully in pink!! I reminded her that Auntie Jeanne can’t always make everything pink–sometimes she wants to sew other colors, too!!

Ron got a cortisone shot in his right hip today, and even before the cortisone really takes effect (it takes about a week), the local anesthetic they use to deaden the area before the put that tiny IV catheter into the joint, he says, made his hip feel “great”!! The doctor told him not to wait so long next time–it’s been 7 months since his last one, and about the last 6 weeks have been pretty uncomfortable for him. But he didn’t start complaining right away, so…(And at this point, with that very floppy mitral valve, he wouldn’t be a good candidate for hip replacement surgery. He did have the left one done a number of years ago, however.)

My back has been acting up again; I guess I shouldn’t have lifted that typewriter at church yesterday, but I had to set it up to use it!! I hope my back does better tomorrow–I have lots to do, and then we’re going out for dinner for my birthday tomorrow night. I’ve been using ice this afternoon and evening and even took a pain pill (something I very rarely ever do), so I’m hoping it’ll cooperate!

Freida is still waiting to show me what she wants her first dress made out of. Those girls! They think I should just make doll clothes all day!! LOL

    1. I hope your back pain subsides soon, especially since you will be celebrating your birthday tomorrow. Hopefully it will ease up
today. Glad to hear Ron’s hip got some relief too. I’m sure it was very painful for him.
Btw, I forget if you mentioned you were keeping Freida’s name as Frieda. Wonder if Jeanne may still be considering another name for her Frieda.

I have the same problem here. All my girls think sewing for them should be my priority but there always seems to be something getting in the way. I like their idea, it just doesn’t seem to happen.

Hopefully David is through with his surgeries and his hip problems may have resulted from his bad knees, but if not I will suggest he get the cortisone shots before any more surgery. Sounds like they’ve been successful for Ron.

I’m so sorry to hear about your back. Is it a pinched nerve? That is the worst to track down. I’ve been having so much trouble with my legs after tripping over my dog a few times. I went to the chiropractor and for a massage, but I still had problems. I found a cheap cure. The other night David asked me to walk down to his shop with him. It was dark so you bet I said yes. Our yard is so uneven and I noticed that my legs were not hurting on the way back. It’s like walking on the uneven ground moved things back into position. Very strange, but whatever works. I’ve been great now for two days. I thought maybe it was my bed but apparently not.

    3. Happy early birthday wishes to you Charlotte! I hope you have a nice time at your dinner tomorrow night. I hope your back cooperates too!
My girls are wondering why I can’t sew any faster either!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, I meant to add, Pixie Faire is having a Freebie Friday–a cute wrap blouse for your 18″ doll!!

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

So many of the Freebie Fridays I already have, including this one, but I love looking at some of the new patterns. The Snoveralls are great and they have them for 18″ and 14-15″ dolls. .

  3. Debbie in North Carolina

Charlotte, We share the same birthday! I hope your pain goes away so you can fully enjoy your celebration. Happy to hear that Ron is having success with the shots for his hip pain.

We didn’t plan much for my birthday celebration tomorrow because the home renovation has started and the forecast for tomorrow is more snow! Maybe a pizza in front of the fireplace.

Jeanne, Beautiful color on Frieda. She looks so fun and festive. Those gold boots, ahhh. Good luck with the auction. I am glad that you were feeling well enough to venture outside.

    1. Hi Debbie,
Happy early birthday to you too! I hope in the middle of all the work you are doing, you can find time for a little bit of a birthday celebration! I think a pizza in front of the fireplace sounds wonderful… especially since snow is coming. Maybe pizza and ice cream on a snowy night… :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Debbie in NC, hope you also have a wonderful birthday tomorrow! I think pizza in front of a fireplace sounds like fun. Also, perfect place to be with more snow coming!

Jeanne, Frieda’s outfit is really stunning in color and you have all the right goodies with it. The leaf necklace is really neat and I love her boot socks.

The more I see of Freida, the more I like her. Her coloring is really beautiful. She’d be a nice addition to my small group of RR girls. Did I just say that?! I mean IF I got her, she’d have to be the last one,

    1. Barbara in SE Texas

Good luck with that – being the last RRFF I mean. I said that several dolls ago when I thought the first three were going to be it. Way too much temptation with these dolls.

    2. HI Paula,
I don’t think there is any doubt that Freida might be coming to your house…I mean IF you get her, she’ll have so much fun with your other girls. Aren’t they just the most fun dolls ever? I LOVE their size and their smiling faces!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Joy in northern CA

A big Happy Birthday to Charlotte and Debbie tomorrow. Hope the day brings lots of fun to each of you.
I received an email this morning from rubyredfashionfriends.com the one in TN that they have two special Valentine’s girls. Hanna and Kayla. The dresses are so cute. Not that I need another doll. 🙂
I could feel the cold outside at your place when Freida took off her lovely jacket. Burr. Great winter photos.
Keep warm everyone. Here, we need rain and a lot of it.

    1. HI Joy,
As soon as I saw your comment about the new dolls from Ruby Red, I went and checked them out… I didn’t want to miss out on someone I just HAD TO HAVE… I could live without them, so I passed… did you get one of them?

It’s very cold outside right now…the temp is 23 and the wind chill factor makes it feel like it’s 12! BRRRR… I’ll be staying inside for sure! Hope you get your rain soon! It’s been snowing on and off all day here, but didn’t amount to anything.

      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Sally from Colorado

Happy birthday to Charlotte and Debbie tomorrow. 🎂🎉🎁 Take good care of the back, Charlotte. Very sorry to hear about this. I am happy to hear Ron got some relief.

Wonderful pictures outside, Jeanne. Good luck on the auction. ❤️

Dawn arrived yesterday, but I am saving opening her up for when I need a boost to my spirits. It’s not like she has an expiration date. 😁 In another couple weeks there will be another custom by Shai to be a bestie/cousin for Shai’s Ariana here.

Yes, Joy is right. A Hanna…and she doesn’t look at all like Hanna like Tung Tung and Lisa do, and a Kayla dressed in really cute dresses and sweet shoes. Congrats to you, Joy. Another delivery challenge will be coming your way. Tell OP that it’s his Valentine to you and give him a big ol’ kiss. Ed is also selling them with free shipping. I’m perfectly all right leaving them alone. There will be two coming here from Russia next month or March, and I have decided I am willing to pay a premium shipping cost to be sure they get here. Poor Joy has had a bad experience with the shipping of her Alexandra. As far as I am concerned, Anna and Lisa will be the last dolls I buy from Russia, Spain, England or France. Never mind that there is almost zero space to have any more of these dolls out for display. 😢

Everyone have a good day. So good hearing from Anne and Alina the other day. Hope all is well with Susette. Hope all other sisters with ailments are improving. ❤️🌺

    1. Joy in northern CA

I too received the email from Happily.com aka Ed. But, I had already purchased Hanna from TN. And I already have a tracking number so she is shipping today. Now that is great news! 🙂

      1. Sally from Colorado

        That IS super news, Joy!
I just got an email from Samantha Cross, so both she and Ed have the dolls, too.

      2. HI Joy,
so I see you DID get Hanna… hmmm… gotta plan your retrieval of her now!
        Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Debbie in North Carolina

I hope you love Dawn! She is one of my favorite RRFF but I was too slow and missed her : ( I did have a good experience getting Rebecca from Un Bonheur de Colibri but that was before the shipping crisis. Thank you for the birthday wishes : )

    3. HI Sally,
I can’t believe you got Dawn and she’s just waiting in her box. You are certainly more restrained than I am… I’d have that box ripped half open on the way back from the mailbox… but that’s just me! :o) I hope when you get to her, she’s all you hoped she’d be. I’m sure she will be!

Oh, it’s so sad to hear someone say they have run out of dolly room and no more can join in on the fun at your house! But I realize you can’t have ALL the dolls… but I’ve seen some pictures of ladies who seemed to be trying! I need to do a little culling of my stock soon!

      Thanks Sally,
I hope your spirits are lifted soon… I don’t like to think of you as down in the dumps…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Barbara in SE Texas

Wow, Jeanne, you and Freida are really brave going outside in the freezing cold for pictures. And not for a picture or two but a whole rift of them. Great pictures too! Well at least Freida had on a nice warm jacket. Hope you did too.

Happy Birthday to Charlotte and Debbie tomorrow. Charlotte I hope your back feels better so you can enjoy your night out. Debbie, pizza in front of the fireplace sounds lovely to me. I was so desperate for a fireplace that we bought one of those fireplace/entertainment centers (have one in my sewing room too). I love it. It’s quick to start and doesn’t require much in the way of clean-up. Just a Swiffering every now and then.

I’m going to be checking the Ruby Red website Joy mentioned. I at least have to “see” the new dolls.

Sally, you may change your mind about letting Dawn out. These dolls can get pretty noisy when they realize they’ve reached their destination and are still boxed up. You mentioned having zero space for more. For me that was about ten dolls ago. I keep rearranging mine so I get to see all of them every now and then. So many are the same size that I can never see all of them at the same time and I don’t have enough room to space them out.

Another absolutely gorgeous day here today. David’s bulldozer came back from the out-of-town job yesterday and he and Sean plan on power washing it today. It’s the perfect day for it. I want Sean to leave his power washer here so that if we have some other days like this I can do my windows. It’s actually like early spring today.

    1. Hi Barbara,
You should have seen me outside… my hubby insisted on giving me one of his sock caps to wear as the wind was blowing. Yep, it’s a good think Freida had that jacket or our photo shoot would have been much shorter!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who had to at least “see” the new dolls from Ruby Red.

Glad you had a nice day there in Texas… we had snow blowing around most of the day… but it never amounted to anything… I was glad.

      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Susette from Southern California

Thanks, Joy and Sally, for thinking of me. I’m just taking a little break from commenting for a while. Happy doll days to everyone. 🥰

    1. HI Susette,
I hope you are enjoying your time of relaxing! Happy dolly days back to you… Are you loving your Wren doll?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. A wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow to Charlotte and Debbie! I hope your back feels better soon, Charlotte. Glad to hear the shot helped Ron.
I received the Ruby Red email as well. Pretty girls, but a pass for me Since enjoying my only and only. I’m sure there will be my winning combo again at some point though. 🙂

Freida looks lovely in that hot pink ensemble. Nice you were able to venture outside for a few photos. Your weather is very close to ours. We will be pushing upper 20’s today.
Looking forward to whose up next.

    1. Hi Laura,
Thanks for your kind comments on Freida in her pink set. She really does look nice in that color… It was so cold that day we went out… but today it’s been even colder and we had snow flurries all day!

I was just talking to my hubby last night and we were discussing the weather. He said we were supposed to get snow next week… (It was a surprise today) and was I going to make any more coats. I told him, if if snowed, I “might” make another coat set… well, it snowed, so I’m wondering now if I should…
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Debbie in North Carolina

Thanks to all for birthday wishes!

Passing the day while keeping up with all the RRFF all over the world. That is supposed to keep me from buying one of the new Valentine cuties. Frieda is trying to win me over, so far she is winning. She is so striking and Jeanne seems to find just the right shades of pink to make her glow. I think she will look good in just about any color.

    Debbie

    1. HI Debbie,
I think we should think of a reason for you to buy Freida… maybe it could be for ALL the boxes you have unpacked, or for all the microwave dinners you’ve had to endure, or all the decisions you’ve had to make lately, or maybe because a new doll would represent a new beginning in your new house… I’m sure you could think of something… or if you need help, I’m sure we could help you come up with something I haven’t mentioned! She really is a lovely, lovely doll! :o) just sayin…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Barbara in SE Texas

Once again temptation got the best of me. I have a Hanna but just could not resist getting the Valentine Kayla. I don’t have a Kayla and that was excuse enough for me.

    1. Sally from Colorado

Barbara, even the flimsiest excuse will do. Congratulations! 🎉🎊🎈👏 Your comment to me above made me laugh. Thanks for that!

    2. Oh Barbara! Congratulations… it’s harder to resist these dolls than it ever was to resist potato chips! :o)
      Enjoy her,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. Happy Birthday Charlotte and Debbie! Charlotte have you ever tried the Salon pad patches with lidocaine in them? It does help🥴
Hot pink is a favorite of mine so whatever I make my Freida will probably be that color too😊
It may be awhile … trying to get a quilt done for my oldest grandson. I think I’ll try to quilt it myself after checking the prices😵‍💫3 cents per square inch does total up pretty fast😉. I moved my sewing machine to make room for the bulk.😊
Have a nice weekend Sofa Sisters… will be 50 here tomorrow 🤗

    1. HI Kathie,
I’m sure your Freida will be thrilled for you to finish that quilt! Then you can sew for her!
Congrats on your quilt being done enough to think about quilting it! I hope you get it mastered… you’ll have to have your hubby take your picture while you are wrestling with it as you quilt it.
50 people at your house tomorrow? Woo hoo… sounds like fun!
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
