My 10″ Boneka doll, Noel, gets her blue Christmas jacket…

I had to burn the midnight oil to get something done on Noel’s dress, but I HAD to since this is her Christmas dress! Somebody might WANT it for their little girl! :o) (AND NO… I have not let myself look back at Patsy’s blue dress… but it’s hard to resist.)

I never made it to the comments, so I’ll have to read them tomorrow… I’m heading to bed as soon as I post a few pictures to show you.

Noel was MADE TO WEAR BLUE… but I need to tone down my lights… they wash her AND the fabric out. It’s a beautiful fabric and I want you to see just how pretty it really is.

The dress had the silver ribbon stitched to the dress at the sides and the snaps are all down the back.

I finally got a couple shots where you can see the sparkle… I had to keep the light away from the fabric to capture the glittery look… I hope you like it. It’s just like pin dots of sparkle all over…

Her jacket is the same pattern I used for a cream one I made her a few years ago…remember this set?

On the blue jacket, I kept it simple… edge stitching it by machine, and then adding a snowflake button I had. It was actually cream, so I had to stop and paint it… Then I used some blue embroidery floss to mimic the color in the fabric. And last of all, I added some tiny french knots in some silver Sliver thread I had. They have to be the tiniest french knots I have ever made.

Here are a few shots of her…

Here is a close up of the snowflake area, but it’s a bit washed out…

So here’s a picture I took with my flash… it shows the details better, but it’s a worse picture of Noel…

…and a couple more…

I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I love Noel’s little jacket. Those certainly are Tiny French knots! And thanks for the even better close-up of that fabric–it’s fantastic!

  2. That’s a sweet little jacket, Jeanne, and I love the “trimmings” you have done on it! I see the sparkles on the dress material, and I’m sure it is more evident in real life. It’s funny, though, Noel’s eyes don’t seem to be blue at all in this group of pictures! Maybe it is my monitor, but the older pictures of her in the other outfit you showed do have her eyes blue! I hope the Ebay listing shoes her with her pretty blue eyes!

So many things to do today! Hopefully we will get the last of packages in the mail, and I can get going on my big family room tree. The living room tree is done, but we had a light malfunction in the middle of the tree, and now , after getting new lights for that section, they are a differnt white than what was on the tree. Oh well, who is going to see it?

I would love to see your Dept. 56 scenes, Barbara! I have some too, but keep mine out all year round in our family room. I got a new building just for winter that will come down after Christmas, but boy, what a job to put everything away!

    1. I posted some pictures of my village last year I think, but I need to do it again. I redid my park area because this year I added a section with boat swings. The way it was before there was no room for them. I love them. They are battery operated and really do swing. My big splurge for the year. I still have to finish up the park and all the townspeople today then on to other decorating which goes much quicker.

I would love to see pictures of your trees and village. I wish I could keep my village up all year but it takes over my dining room and there is no other place for it.

  3. That’s a sweet little jacket. I love the little embellishments on it. I want to be sure and check back when you post a link to the outfit you made for Patsy so I can see which I like better.

I started a new Christmas quilt last night. I can’t imagine that I will have time to get it pieced and quilted before Christmas, but I just couldn’t resist the temptation to cut into some Christmas fabric I had.

  4. Oh, lucky Noel! The dress and jacket are so pretty. I know you’re pressed for time, but I think this outfit would look so sweet with an additional little pearl bracelet with a jingle bell. Would be so cute for her. Then she could be the belle of the Jingle Bell Ball. 🙂
Here’s a question. What size shoes do the Boneka girls wear? I believe they are a slim width also. Shoes on the brain here as I just ordered a few more from Monique before they are completely sold out.
The weather people are debating, but looks like we may get some so much needed rain over the weekend. 🙂

    1. The Boneka dolls have “interesting” feet. I contacted Judith at Juju’s Dolly Mall when I got mine and she suggested a 38mm shoe. The dolls feet are kind of round.

  5. Noel is so cute in her outfit. I hope you have some shoes for her to wear. One of my pet peeves is seeing a beautiful doll ensemble for sale and the doll has bare feet. Ugh. I realize it’s most likely because the outfit does not include the shoes but it looks lazy to me. The seller can explain what is and is not included. A separate picture of just the items for sale also makes that plain. But I see so many things for sale where the seller has done a poor job of the pictures and the description. I wonder if they ever sell anything. I also know I’m on shaky ground critiquing others when I have a couple things for sale that I have listed for months and months and they are not selling! When I get home I’m probably going to rethink my whole sales approach. Jeanne, I have long used you as a standard I try to meet when I am selling something. Your Etsy and eBay listings are stellar!

Dear Barbara, hello. Thanks for the kind words. I wasn’t far away, just away. I am happy to be back on the sofa.

I would love to see photos of your village again this year.

  6. What a beautiful Christmas/winter ensemble for some lucky Boneka doll. I love blue and silver for Christmas even though I’ve never decorated using those colors. My tree is decorated with ornaments that we’ve collected over the years, so I’ve never done a “themed” tree. My mother and sister did a theme every year and their trees were gorgeous. I decorated a small tree for the dolly daughters. I’ve had it so long it started falling apart. I couldn’t find a one at Wal-Mart. I will try JoAnn’s when I go in for church on Sunday. If I can’t find one there I might try the Wal-Mart in Katy. They are usually better stocked than ours.

Well I must go organize the townspeople in the village and introduce them to the new amenities. Not much new this year. I’m running out of room on the table top. The train depo sits on top of the piano. Not too many places to expand to.

  7. That sweet little blue dress is not only for Christmas but good for the next few months of winter. Good plan Jeanne😍
Would love to see pics of your village Barbara.
I have a doll angel tree plus my pink tree that has Margaret Furlong ornaments and a few Angels on it.
Maybe we could all send Jeanne a pic or two🤗🤗

  8. Noel looks adorable in her new dress and jacket. So glad to see a close up of the fabric. the sparkles are just lovely.
Would love to see your village, Barbara and your doll and pink trees, Kathie. I had to see what Margaret Furlong ornaments were. The are very pretty with the seashell look.

  9. All the Christmas dresses are so beautiful, I tried to choose a favorite but I can’t. I love seeing the pretty things you make.

  10. I’d love to see other people’s Christmas trees and villages. I haven’t put up the big tree in years as I go see my grandchildren for Christmas. Christmas is best for children to be home when they live far away.
I know Linda has some beautiful trees and villages from previous posts.

Love the little jacket. Do you use strands of embroidery thread in the machine to do the edging? It’s a lovely ensemble.
