A new doll…Guess who???

Here is my post…
it will be short
I have something new
that I must report…

I bought a doll,
oh, yes, it is true
Here is a hint:
Her eyes aren’t blue

Her hair has been washed
and now it’s all shiny
I knew she was mine
when she said, “Please buy me!”

These are the sleeves to
her pretty new dress
Okay, now tell me…
Who do you guess?

See you tomorrow with “more” on the mystery girl…
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, my goodness, dolly fever strikes again!! LOL

From the appearance, she Looks like she could be another American Girl! But….maybe not??? I don’t think she’s particularly tiny, so probably not a Little Darling or smaller.

    Hmmm…..

  2. A new doll! Jeanne, you are on a roll! I am thinking and thinking who this could be, and like Charlotte says, it does look like an AG doll. The first thing I noticed was that her hair is just like my Felicity’s hair, but it does seem a bit lighter. The sleeves look like somethng a doll of Felicity’s era woud be wearing.

I could be right or way off!!!

    1. Me again! Just thought of the clue, that she doesn’t have blue eyes! Felicity is known as having green eyes, and bright green at that! That might be an early Felicity, whose hair was a much lighter red than the later ones, like mine. Yes, the more I think of it, it IS Felicity!

  3. It will be very interesting to see everyone’s opinion on the mystery doll. She appears to be a doll with either rooted hair or a glued wig. Her hair is really lovely. She looks pretty fair in coloring and definitely is not a BJD. I don’t see joints through the plastic. Seems like she has a stuffed body or the plastic wouldn’t have been necessary. With the quality of the wig, I’ll have to go with an AG doll. I do like the sleeves on the dress too. Can’t wait for Jeanne to solve the mystery with the unveiling soon. 🙂

  4. There are AG neck strings. I also think it is Felicity. Elizabeth has very blond hair so I don’t think it can be her. If it’s one of the numbers, even after you turn her around, I still won’t know!

I had a bad case of dolly fever as well. I found the cure the other day. I hesitated, then I got an offer from the seller for a small reduction in price. I asked a question. Got the desired answer. Clicked buy it now! Now I wait….

Ooh, which one did you order, Julia?! Seems like there are a lot of cases of “dolly fever” around here lately!!

  5. Your new doll has lovely hair for sure. It isn’t much of a clue though😉
If she has brown eyes then the fabric on those sleeves will look cute on her. It has a vintage look about it too. You are good at mysteries and keeping us all intrigued .

  6. Wow, another new doll. I guess it’s good that you sold a couple or the dolly shelf would certainly be crowded.I’m going with the assumption that she’s an AG because I think there appears to be a cloth body showing just a tad.
I love the fabric you’ve chosen and the ruffles are delightful.
I’m going to guess it’s last year’s GOTY Blaire. You don’t have a lightest skin doll and I know she has hazel eyes. When I first saw her I thought she would make a lovely historical.

  7. I think there is a little bit of the stand showing but it does look like an AG doll body to me, but that is as far as I can go with the guessing. I am getting to recognise a few of the AG dolls but I don’t think I would know them from the back. I am looking forward to seeing the reveal tomorrow.

  8. Her hair is beautiful and the start of her dress is nice, but I’m clueless as to who it is. Can’t wait for the big reveal.

  9. I first thought of Felicity but I think her hair is darker red than your doll also my doll would still show where hair has been in a ponytail for so long. She does have green eyes and the material would look great on her.
Jeanne aren’t you having a good time driving us all crazy!
    We need another hint!

  10. My guess is AG Maryellen. The coloring on the hair is a match to my mini Maryellen and her eyes are listed as hazel. Maybe a fun detour into the 1950’s styles???? On the way to the 70’s?

  11. You are driving me nuts, Jeanne! Now I am thinking it isn’t
Felicity because it looks like she has a side part and Felicity has a middle one. Could be
Blaire or Maryellen. Well, I guess we will know soon enough!

  12. Hi everyone
Oh, this is SO fun…for me!! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow! :o)

Dear Jeanne, I am going to guess it is a Gotz Happy Kidz doll. I don’t think it’s an American Girl doll. She seems to have a hard body.

It was very clever of you to shroud her in plastic.

    I love doll surprises.

  14. I just ran into someone selling a Wellie Wisher Willa, and I was thinking maybe? But, I don’t think her hair is quite as long or as nice as this girl. Waiting patiently for the answer tomorrow. 🙂

  15. Hi Jeanne,
Seems like you and some of the ladies here are enjoying dolly fever. I’m behaving my self for the most part 😁
My guess is you’ve adopted an AG MaryEllen, she’s in the catalog modeling a pink dress with her hair down, I believe with her side hair part she would look exactly like your new girl from the back.
Hope all is well with you and your sweet family
    Hugs
    Ingrid
