Part 2 of my 13″ Dianna Effner, Little Darling’s dress… you’ll like this!

Don’t forget tonight is when the Blue Diamonds and Barely Beige dresses for the American Girl dolls ends.

Here are the stats on the dresses as of 11:00p.m. Monday evening….

The Beige dress has 334 views and 25 watchers.

The Blue dress has 264 views and 28 watchers.

I hope you’ll take a peek if you haven’t already… you can click on the pictures at the side bar to be taken to the Ebay auctions, or you can click HERE and HERE

When I find out which dress goes the highest, I’ll put the names of those who picked that dress in a hat and draw out a winner… I’ll try and post that tomorrow… I hope I don’t forget…

If you missed Monday’s post, you might want to check it out first… HERE.

Okay, so who thinks they know what they’ll see today for Lian?

If you guessed a jacket you were right! A very pretty jacket full of embellishments and even a touch of the fabric… Remember those purple scraps I showed yesterday? Those were ALL the scraps I had left after cutting out this wool felt jacket. I was cutting it kind of close, but this felt matched the fabric so well, I just HAD to make it work.

Here is some eye candy to start your Tuesday morning…

Do you like it so far?

I did some hand work using floss to pick up the fabric colors and made a nice floral design on one side of the jacket. The colors are spot on in person…

Adding the ruffle under the collar was an afterthought, and I tried to be as neat as I could when hand sewing it on, but there are the edges of the fabric showing underneath…

I think this is perfect for Fall and hope you like it…

Sometimes when I lay my dolls down, the light from above makes the colors just right…

I’ll try to get this one listed on Ebay as soon as I can.

Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne
See you tomorrow

That little jacket turned out just darling, Jeanne, and the colors of the floss are absolutely perfect. I like the little ruffle under the collar, too–adds a nice touch.

Hm, I sense a bidding war in the offing on this one!!

  2. I noticed the collar right away and thought it was so cute and fitting for the jacket! I don’thtink I have seen you do that before, but I really like it, Jeanne! That’s something you cold also do some other time with the sleeve, but not this one. It is just perfect!

Good luck on the auction tonight!

  3. Such a beautiful outfit. I love everything about it. Could you give an explanation/demonstration of how the jacket edge is finished? Are the scallops cut or does the stitch make it scalloped? The ruffle on the collar is so adorable.

  4. I think I remember seeing this stitching on a jacket once before. I think it was done by machine. The whole ensemble is adorable but the finishing on the jacket means you’ve totally outdone yourself this time. Congratulations on another wonderful creation 🥰!

    1. CORRECTION: The Paris fabric was on the page with Liberty of London but was actually made by Brother Sister Design Studio. Sorry about the mistake.

  5. You didn’t even mention your cold. Are you done with that? I certainly hope so.

The two auctions end 10 minutes apart. The beige is 7:35 and the blue 10 minutes later, though you’ll have to adjust for your time zone. There are bids on both, so these auctions may be tense to participate in but fun to watch.

Lian’s new dress is one of the best — perfect fall colors and full of charming details. Will it go on Ebay tonight?

  6. I love the collar ruffle on the jacket, and of course the colors in the dress are just beautiful. This may be one of my favorites, although that’s hard to say with so many great choices. I really like it though.

    1. Looking more closely, was the jacket collar finished with the picot stitch first and then the ruffle added and stitched on top? Curious. 🙂

Dear Jeanne, what cuteness. Lian is the perfect model for you lovely outfit.

How can we be in the middle of October already?

  8. Very cute outfit. It looks like you may have a bidding war tonight. It will be fun to watch. I also would like to know how you do the edge of the coat . I also would like to know if you make your headpieces for your drindl outfits out of wool blend felt? And if so where you buy your felt in those wonderful colors. I am making a drindl outfit and would like to make a headpiece like yours to go with the outfit. Carole

  9. This outfit is gorgeous! I wish it fit les cheries or hearts for hearts dolls as I have those.

I did order a pair of those shoes! It doesn’t look good for poor team blue.😆💙

    1. Julia, I use Little Darling patterns for my Les Cheries and they fit fine. But they don’t work well for my Hearts for Hearts.

  10. That has got to be the cutest jacket ever. The extra fabric ruffle under the collar just takes the cuteness over the top for me. I know you don’t include shoes, but those purple shoes are just perfect. I have a feeling Lian is going to be very, very upset to give this one up. I also agree with Charlotte that there might be a bidding war among LD owners vying for this one.

The auction will be fun to watch tonight. Rah Rah Go, beige, go!!

  11. I checked out the auction and they finish at around 2.30pm today (Wed) for me so I will try to remember.
I love the little jacket on Ping and the shoes are gorgeous. The frill, embroidery and the edging around are just perfect. I love the outfit. I think it will do well in the next auction.
I have another story today. I took my little dog, Louis, out for his walk yesterday. He is usually quite well behaved so when I get to the park if there is no one around (in particular, no one with dogs) I let him off the lead. He doesn’t necessarily stay with me all the time but he always catches up and doesn’t wander. Yesterday he was way behind me. I called him and he looked at me then trotted off the opposite way. I kept calling him and he kept looking back but didn’t come to me. He did that all the way home. Fortunately where we walk is pretty quiet and not too many cars as he had to cross the road about 5 times! He didn’t go up anyone’s driveway, didn’t chase any cats, ignored all dogs that barked at him, and he always stayed just too far away from me so I couldn’t catch him but still looking back to make sure I was still following. When I got home he was waiting in the driveway and was so pleased to see me he dropped what he was carrying, a dirty old crust of bread that he had found. He knew I would take it off him so he made sure I couldn’t but when he got home and dropped it I took it off him anyway. Silly dog. He’ll be on the lead today, he was lucky yesterday but the cars worry me as there might not be too many but they can go pretty fast down one of the streets anyway.
I will send the photos of the exhibition to you today Jeanne.

    1. I have a dog like that. When she didn’t want to come she would just lower her head and you knew she was planning to go the opposite way. She is nearly blind and deaf these days but still enjoys her lunchtime walk about on the property, but we are having to really watch her lately and may have to put her on a leash even on our property. We live on a road that leads into town so has constant traffic. Twice lately she took off for the street and just kept on going even with us calling her. I had to throw the box with my new doll in front of her the other day to slow her down because she was on a collision course with a car coming up the road. P.S. the doll is fine, and, thankfully, so is the dog.

  12. I knew you were making a jacket but the ruffle on the collar totally got my attention. So adorable! This outfit is cuter than cute. Is that the picot stitch you used for the edging? I use that a lot for things that don’t require a hem or I want something more than a regular hem. I do it single layer and sometimes folded (never thought of that until I had a pattern that recommended it). I like that you can get the scallops as shallow or as deep as you wish for different effects.

I’m glad I’m not bidding on the Beige/Blue dresses. It could become very stressful. I can’t wait to see the outcome. Hope you are feeling a whole lot better and that George and Rebecca have avoided getting it themselves

  13. Love everything about that dress and jacket. The ruffle under the collar is a great touch. The fabric is awesome and one the color combo stands out. Her hat and shoes and teddy all make it even better.
Hope she goes well. Will be watching to see how the beige/blue auctions finish up☺️🤗

  14. Beige won!
So, just for the heck of it I bid on George’s favorite blue and waited to be outbid – and I won! Nellie will be thrilled. It was her favorite.

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Marilyn, congratulations! I look forward to seeing a photo of Nellie in her new dress when it arrives.

    2. Well, a big congrats to Marilyn!! So many occasions where Nellie will be able to wear this lovely blue dress. 🙂
