Sometimes you just have to CELEBRATE!

As wonderful as it would be, I wish I could say I’m celebrating because “my flooring came in” but it hasn’t. As much as I’d like to say “my sewing table is finished” it isn’t. As much as I’d like to say “I have all my drawers sorted out and they are ready to move back into my sewing room” as soon as my flooring comes in, they aren’t.

But something better than ALL those things is happening today!

MARILYN IS LEAVING REHAB AND GOING HOME TODAY! Hip Hip Horray! Hip Hip Horray!

I checked my emails and her troubles started last July (I think) and she’s been in the hospital or a rehab facility ever since. But she let us know yesterday she was heading home! I know she is very excited so I thought maybe we could be excited with her… It’s a REALLY big deal that she’s getting to go home!!!

Let’s show her some love…

We have MISSED you, Marilyn, and I just knew the Lord had more in store for you! You have too much to offer and your kind and generous spirit has to live on a little longer! Your comments and sweet thoughts have been missed and we can’t wait to hear from you on a more regular basis, as you can!

I hope your home is your sanctuary and blesses you with a warm welcome. May your many dolls greet you with big smiles and open arms! And may our Lord bless you with continued health and recovery and protection for anything that may harm your body.

Even Simon wanted to wish you a happy day!

Now, who else can share some sweet thoughts for Marilyn?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, yes, and I saw that on yesterday’s blog, several people commented on Marilyn’s coming home.

So, again, welcome home to you, Marilyn!! I know how good my own bed feels after several nights or a couple of weeks away; after this long away from home, it will no doubt be even better for you, to at long last be in your own bed, in your own place!!!

A side note to Barbara: one place I know for sure you can get prepackaged communion supplies is Concordia. I know they have it with juice (which is what our church uses); whether someone has it with real wine, I don’t know, but at least there is a place to start the serach, if they are looking.

  2. Oh yes, Hallelujah!!! Marilyn’s story has an Easter ring to it, and I am SO very happy for her! She and I have been friends for several years, and actually met here on your blog, Jeanne.
I had mentioned on the blog, having a Betsy McCall doll that had just one outfit, and she was downsizing her LD doll clothes. Out of the clear blue sky, a box came to my house with all sorts of pretty clothes for Betsy! I will never forget the day I opened that box!
I was a little girl again on Christmas morning!

I could go on and on about how wonderful Marilyn is, in fact, I could go on all day! She has proven to be a very strong, educated and knowledgeable woman with a big heart.
I am so very happy for you, dear friend, and wish you all the happiness in the world!
Just click you heels together three times and say, “There’s no place like home”!

  3. Dear Jeanne;
Your sewing room looks lovely and you certainly did look determined to finish those curtains! I did get a chuckle out of your bare feet. Every time I do venture into my sewing room without shoes I am afraid I will be met with a pin or 2 or 3!

Dear Marilyn, I cannot imagine all that you have been through and I pray God continues to bless you with improved health. Home and all our precious, meaningful surroundings are such blessings too. I pray each day is brighter and brighter.

  4. This is amazing news and I can not imagine spending a year in the hospital especially these last few months when no visitor where allowed.

You must be doing a happy dance in your head and you will sleep so much better in your own bed surrounded by your own personal things. Take it slow is my advice and I learned the hard lesson that not once but twice. Your dolls are going to be so excited to see you and many hours of fun playing with them or just staring at them.

The first few days will be an adjustment but you will settle into your new now normal routine and grow stronger. Blessings, Sandra

  5. I, too, met Marilyn through your blog. We have been “conversing “ for several years now. I received a Paulinette doll from Marilyn when you asked on the blog which doll we didn’t have that we’d like to add to our collection. Lo and behold, Marilyn sent me that doll who is featured in my Christmas decorations. I had seen the doll in “Fashions for Small Dolls “ by Rosemarie Ionker that you had reviewed in the blog. Marilyn has an encyclopedic knowledge of American Girl dolls and so many other things. If she doesn’t know about something, she is sure to research it for us.

I’m sending her some of the masks I’ve been making to help keep her safe at home if she has visitors at home (which I don’t and will visit my son’s 60th birthday by FaceTime). Thanks for surviving all that you’ve been through!

Stay safe at home, dear friend, Susette ❤️

  6. Wonderful to hear some very good news. I’ve missed seeing the research aspect that Marilyn adds. Please don’t overdo on your first day home. Just enjoy and relax if you can.
Please keep us informed as to how everything is going.

  7. That picture of Simon is gorgeous! Belongs in a wildlife magazine!! Wouldn’t his picture look great sitting in your sewing studio? He looks like he’s looking for someone, with apple bits maybe, or maybe he heard Marilyn is heading home and watching for her! Yay! It’s so nice to have uplifting news. Have a great day all.

  8. Welcome, welcome, welcome home, Marilyn. I know you’ll savor just being there, sitting, breathing in your own abode again, viewing/playing with your dolls as has been mentioned and just being home. How grand it must feel to do so after such a long journey (time-wise, etc) after from it.

    Blessings.

  9. After I left my comment on Marilyn’s homecoming yesterday I thought of something else to add but the day was over. So, thanks to your suggestion, Jeanne, I’ll add it today.

Marilyn, I am totally inspired by the upbeat way you have handled all you’ve been through. I am so by nature a homebody, but when I was told to stay at home, suddenly my home became more like a prison and all my creative energies left me for awhile. Thankfully they’re back, but knowing what you’ve been through made me realize that I had nothing to complain about at all. Home is a very special place that isn’t always available to everyone all the time. I’ve known you only a short time through the blog and find you to be an amazing person. With all you know and all you do, we are blessed to have you sharing the couch with us. Please take care of yourself so you can enjoy many more years in the comfort of your own home.

  10. Welcome home Marilyn! From the famous movie it is said, “ There’s no place like home.” I’m sure you’ll feel so much more happy and content in your own space.
I pray you continue to feel better. Enjoy your surroundings at home and continue healing!

*Laura- I enjoyed reading the poem you sent in about our pets whether it’s a doggie or kitty or other. It nearly had me crying it was so beautiful and I think of every pet our family ever had and I believe I’ll see them all some day. After all, they are God’s own creatures. I share with you the love of animals, especially our pets. Thank you for sharing that poem!

Jeanne- I hope George is feeling better each day. I loved the cute picture of you. Totally in your element! I agree with whoever said you look young -I agree.

    1. Dear Paula,
You’re so welcome!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’ve loved it since I first found it years ago.
And her’s two of my favorite quotes:

“Pets are not our whole lives, but they make our lives whole.”

“A house is not a home until pet hair covers virtually everything'” =^-^= =” – “=

      God’s blessings,
      Laura

Dear Jeanne, this is truly cause for celebration. I think we realize now, in ways we could not have before, the importance of celebrating and uplifting each other.

So first, Jeanne, we celebrate you for your kindness and for writing this wonderful blog which has created this circle of friends and given us a safe platform upon which to express our feelings and thoughts without judgement.

Dear Marilyn, we welcome you back to your spot on the sofa. We have saved it for you. We wish you a swift continued recovery. We savor the sweetness of your return home with you. We ask for tender blessings for you as you navigate each new day.

  12. Oh Marilyn….so glad you are able to go home to your favorite place….with your own things and a familiar bed! I’m sure your dollies have missed you and we have missed you too!
I see several people have advised you to take it slow….even if you see things that need to be done just give yourself time. If someone asks to help….let them do it. Make a list of what you want done and then when someone asks you can give them a chore instead of saying “I’m fine😉”
They will feel needed and you can take it easy😉

  13. What joyous news that is to hear. I’m so very, very happy for you, Marilyn!! It will be a delight to have you back with us sharing your comments. I know that being back in your own home, surrounded by the things you love will be wonderful.
    God’s richest blessings to you!!
    Laura

  14. Marilyn, enjoy your own bed tonight, I am new here but love the caring that you all show to each other especially you, Jeanne.
Laura loved your quotes about pets, my daughter (who is having treatment for cancer) is always complaining about her white cat who always manages to find the darkest fabric to sleep on, usually a black jacket lol. She is going to move in with me shortly as she and her children can’t handle her husbands verbal abuse and complete selfishness any longer (the youngest daughter has said on several occasions “Daddy doesn’t like me”). I have a dog and a kitten and she has two cats and a dog as well as three children and I have a two bedroom house with a sunroom! Pray for me won’t you lol.

    1. Hi Anne,
I just saw your comments and wanted to let you know I will be praying for you and your daughters situation.
Things might be tight in your house, but filled with love, you will make it work. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around all of you and hold you close.

      Bless you Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne
