Sorry, no post today

I had my post all written out and just needed to load my pictures…they wouldn’t load because I was scammed on my computer and my cookies were disabled. (I’m writing this on my phone.)

Kristoffer came over last night and probably spent 2 1/2 hours trying to figure things out. Then he came over again today and spent another hour doing some more stuff.

This has been pretty scary for me as the scammer has tried to call me 9 times since 2:00a.m. Sunday morning. I’m not answering the calls.

So I hope I can get things solved by tomorrow… I guess I’ll show the post I had written for today tomorrow and tomorrow’s post on Wednesday…

I’m so sorry…just make this a play day with your dolls.

Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow
Blessings. Jeanne

Oh, Jeanne, I’m so sorry!!! How frustrating–and scary!! I hope Kristoffer has been able to fix things for you. Is this something you could/should report to the police? If the scammer is calling you repeatedly like that, it’s harrassment. You should also let your phone company know.

Haven’t done anything dolly-related lately, but I did just finish making a “Rare Bear” (for Rare Science–bears go to children diagnosed with rare diseases and such) that I will turn in (in about 10 days!) at our big sewing expo in Puyallup, WA. I started cutting another one out, and have fabric for a third, but those two I will most like have to mail in, as I have too many other things going on to get them made before Expo, I think!! Several appointments this week, and I still need to cut out and make my top out of my “twinsie” fabric (a friend and I bought the same fabric–on purpose–last year so we can be “twins” one day at Expo–even though she’s 17 years younger than I am!)

We are finally able to get in/out of our driveway and street easily, as most of the snow in those areas is gone; we do still have it on our lawns, though. It’s actually a good thing–it’s melting slowly, so we aren’t having problems with flooding and landslides like we can have when it melts too fast.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I am hoping Kristoffer can come back over tonight to help me get things back to normal. I can’t log in to my email, my blog, Ebay, pinterest, any doll forums, actually nothing is working. Oh how I wish I knew more about the technical side of things…
Have fun with your sewing! I haven’t made myself anything in such a long time..I really should!
I’m glad your snow has melted and things are looking up for your area…its gonna be Spring one of these days.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear about this, Jeanne! You, of all people, to be scammed!! In this day and age, it is a possibility for anyone online, sadly. I hope Kristoffer can help you and that we have a blog tomorrow. At least this IS a holiday, so hopefully, you can have one too!

I have been putting coats on my dolls and they are going to be out and about today for the President’s Day holiday, taking advantage of sales! They each have a little AG bag, and are dressed in their coats, hats, gloves, etc. They are the smallest bags they had at the AG store, when we had one,…. sob! I do miss that store! It was just a whole new state of mind when you walked in, and brightened your day, no matter what was going on outside with the weather, politics, things to do at home, etc. You just forgot all that and were swept up in a fanciful array of dolls!
Maybe Caroline’s outfit will be done soon? Now that’s something I’d like to see!

And thank you all, for the wonderful comments on my Orchard Show pictures!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m hoping Kristoffer can help me. This is driving me nuts…
Hannah’s mom, my niece, Amy, just came into town last night for a funeral. She is staying with my mom and just asked me to go to lunch with them. So I have something to keep me somewhat busy.
Take some pictures of your girls in their coats and I’ll use them sometime… I bet they look adorable.
One of these days I HAVE to make it to an American Girl doll store…I just want to experience it for myself.
      Thsnk you Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Must be a presidential prank from the past. 🙂 Hope you get everything fixed. We get scam calls regularly, on our phone. Not the computer fortunately as it goes into the spam file. Did you contact your virus protector provider?

Weather cooperated yesterday finally, and we had beautiful sun for babysitting our grands. We went on a two mile walk to visit their great grandparents house. They had fun climbing up to the attic and finding treasures from their mother’s childhood as well as sliding back down the carpeted steps. With so much recent rain, the little guy 3, really enjoyed seeing all of the water spilling into storm drains. We even managed to open up the play house for entertainment and dodged the mud. They got into my doll room too! Oh no! But, were very kind to the dollies and ended up feeding them pretend pizza. 🙂 I think little guy would have liked to bring home the car collection though. 🙁
Next weekend is middle girls big 6th birthday. They grow so fast.

Hope the computer glitch is fixed and we hear from you tomorrow.

    1. Hi Joy,
I don’t know WHY IN THE WORLD I didn’t call Kristoffer when it happened. Stupid me thought I could figure it out…unfortunately the guy on the other end was slicker than George and I realized and it ended up costing me $271.00!
When I finally got up my nerve to tell Kristoffer what we had done, boy, did we get a lecture! I learned a big lesson! CALL KRISTOFFER FIRST…right after you shut down the computer!!
I’m waiting to hear from PayPal to see if I might be eligible for a refund. Kristoffer helped me draft a letter to them….so we’ll see.

It sounds like you had a wonderful day with your grandkids! Can’t believe you let them in your doll room!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Oh Jeanne I am so sorry to hear about your computer problems. I love computers and tech as they can bring so many together – like here on your blog – but boy they can sure be frustrating and it seems always at the most inconvenient times. Over the last year I have experienced a big red flashing warning that my computer has a virus and says click here and advises me not to shut it down – well shut down is the first thing I do! Sometimes it will not allow me x out & close windows so I revert to the Ctrl+Alt+Delete to shut down. Then I wait awhile and reboot; run the anti virus software and it always says everything is ok. Then I have received calls saying they are from Microsoft and they got a report my computer was sending out spam – hang up there too – Microsoft is NOT going to call you.
It is a shame we have to go through things like this. I sure hope your son can figure it all out and you end up having a good day after all – you deserve it!

    1. Hi Leigh,
Yep..that’s exactly what Kristoffer said to do…shut down the computer first thing…(then call him!)
I’m going to have a good day!!! Amy is my niece and she came into town last night for a funeral. We’re going to lunch with my mom!
I’ve got a “date” with Caroline to see if we can get her fixed up with as new hairdo!
      Thanks Leigh,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. I am so sorry Jeanne that ‘cyberworld nastiness’ is invading dollyland.
I have become increasingly vigilant (and paranoid) as time passes. A carefree ‘shopping the world’ with wineglass at hand is no longer an option.
A fake PayPal site which I backed out of quickly when they asked for more than usual information, and also a credit card theft have left me saddened and suspicious. The credit card thing was discovered when my other asked “What have you bought from Eagle Eddie in California for $520?” There was also a similar amount of home decorating items. The bank sorted it with Visa, but still…..
The fake PayPal came clearer when the vendor contacted and asked if we wanted to complete the transaction – we explained and he said he didn’t use PayPal!
Another alarming thing is devices ‘listening’. I thought Siri and Alexis suggesting purchases was funny, weird but funny. Thought I was safe, but the grandchildren were staying this Christmas I asked Roisin what she had been reading. One of the books was ‘When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit’ I repeated the title and started typing because I hadn’t heard of the book.
After ‘when Hit….’ it finished it for me. Yep, my tablet listens too.
Jeanne I really hate the idea of hackers violating your site, we must all try to stay dolly focused and cybersafe.
Hope you will be back soon, Spaghetti Squash for dinner here so must be nearly spring for you. A cyclone heading our way, but boy do we need the rain.
    Dolly hugs.

    1. HI Jane,
I AM BACK! Kristoffer to the rescue! He came over AGAIN and fixed things once more and now things seem to be working as they should.
I’m so sorry for what happened to you…it’s scary isn’t it? My mom was scammed 3 times and lost out on about $1600 for one of the transactions. The other 2 were recovered.
I leaned a big lesson…if anything starts beeping or looking weird, shut down my computer AND CALL KRISTOFFER!
Spring will be here fairly soon…it’s very cold out there today, but I know Spring is closer today than it was yesterday!
      Thanks Jane,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. How horrible for you and how grateful I am that you have Kristoffer and all his knowledge. I am glad that you have other things to do today — don’t we all? –but it’s amazing how helpless and isolated we feel when we can’t use our computers for what we need. We’ll hope for a better tomorrow.
I love Jane’s comment. A cyclone is headed her way but they need rain so that seems to be ok with her. She’s going to fix a good dinner no matter what’s coming. A pioneer spirit is a good thing.

    1. HI Marilyn,
Yes, Thank you Lord, for Kristoffer! He really should have gone into IT stuff!
I haven’t made it into my sewing room , but it’s only 5:00 so there’s hope still!
I went to lunch with Hannah’s mom, all the way from PA, so we had lots to catch up on. She’s here for a funeral.
Now that my computer seems to be working okay, I’m going to fix something nice for dinner too. It’s amazing how stressful knowing your computer may be vulnerable, can make you feel.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I have had a subscription with Geek Squad since I bought my first laptop many years ago. Basic is still just $99 and covers three devices. I immediately shut the device down and take it in. Many times they can fix it right away or by allowing them to connect to your computer when contacting them by phone. I wouldn’t be without it. Hope there is one nearby. Hope it is fixed quickly. Don’t worry: We’ll be here.

    1. HI Susette,
As long as Kristoffer is around, I don’t need the GEEK squad….but we do have one in town. Good to know!
It’s good to be back and checking out everything, things seem to be working as they should. YAY… I can’t tell you how happy I am.
Tomorrow you can see Caroline…not with her hair done, but with her dress all finished. I’m going to try and do her hair tonight if I can.
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Charlotte Trayer

I love Geek Squad, too, Susette! They’ve helped me several times! But then, I don’t have a Kristoffer! (laugh) My son has a smart phone, but hasn’t had a computer in some time (although he uses one at work). So, that’s not an option. (He does, however, go up on our roof and clean it off occasionally…)

Looking forward to seeing the next blog entry! I know it’s up, so soon…..

  8. GRRRRR! If these wicked people would/could just put their energies into something constructive, just imagine what a world this would be! :-/
