The last of my Christmas gifts…

I was busy Thursday night finishing up some of my Brownies in a Jar… They work well for gifts for those people you don’t know what to get… I have a few of them… :o) If you wanted to make some yourself, I showed how in this post… HERE. Actually there are SEVERAL posts where I showed how to make them… all stacked one under the other when you click on the link. You can see the different variations in each of the posts… if you want.

It’s a great way to use up little snippets of this and that!

Now it’s time to clean and get my house back in order!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend… See you Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Those cute jars are a wonderful present, Jeanne! There are so many people now who really don’t need things, but with these, you can’t go wrong!

I’m having my granddaughters over today for some cookie decorating, and ornament making, so I had better get prepared!

Have a good Sunday, and I hope you get everything done that you need to!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’m about pooped out and ready to call it quits which is good because I’ve run out of time .
Thanks for your sweet compliments on my jars.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. The jars are so cute and can be reused for brownies or something else. Very inspirational. I have loved seeing the jars whenever you’ve given us pictures.
A friend used to give me big plastic jars of chocolates for Christmas. I think she got them from the PX. The chocolates are long gone, but the jars are great for flours, pasta, rice, and all kinds of things that are attractive and useful to be able to see. It was one of those gifts that never stop being useful.
The labels said “Chocolates of the World.” At the library we had a book called *Countries of the World and Their Leaders.* I always thought of the candy in the same way, *Chocolates of the World and Their Leaders.* If you have the lead chocolates in your house for New Year’s, surely your house will have chocolate all year long.

One of my favorite gifts has arrived. A friend from Arizona has sent her friends and family fruit from her trees every year for many, many years. The first year, my mother said, “I think Donna has sent you a machine,” because the box was so heavy. I used to give a couple of lemons away every year, just to watch people’s faces when they received a perfect yellow football the size of a grapefruit. They were so beautiful. Climate change has affected the size of the fruit, but it is still more than welcome. Donna and her mother used to spend hours shelling pecans whenever they watched TV and we each got packages of them that looked like small sofa cushions, each holding a small fortune in pecans. My instruction supervisor used to anticipate getting one of the cushions for her Christmas baking, because there were too many for one person. Great gifts bring nice memories.

    Where is Charlotte?

    1. Loved reading about your wonderful gifts. I bet Jeanne could do a post on the best gifts every received! 🙂

    2. Thanks so much Marilyn,
I have all my jars packed up and ready to hand out tomorrow… I hope I didn’t forget anyone…
I love to store my pasta and rice and beans in big clear jars…not only is it pretty…it’s easy to find what you are looking for.

Wow…I’ve never seen a lemon that size! I bet you DID get some responses!!!

Pecans….probably as bly my favorite nut…unless maybe it’s cashews!!! I never really met a nut I didn’t like!

I do wonder where Charlotte is…maybe she went out of town.
      Thanks Marilyn

  3. Such a lovely festive gift from the heart. You are always the thoughtful one Jeanne.
Going to finish wrapping gifts for the grands this morning and hopefully get another photo done of my Meadow doll kids. Almost impossible to stop them from wiggling for a photo these days. It’s the anticipation of the big day ahead. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
Rebecca did my wrapping today while I finished up the gift bags…
It won’t be long till everyone is tearing open their gifts…
My satellite has been out since Saturday morning so we have been computer-less which actually allowed me to get more stuff done…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. The jars with your lovely decorated lids are very special gifts. That includes the yummy treat inside. Your talent of putting together material and snippets of this and that makes for such festive gifts that can be used overand over. You have such great ideas!
My mother was talented like you. She had a gift of adding the right touch to something ordinary and turning it into something special.
Like you and your readers- on to finishing up those last minute things!

    1. Thank you Paula
Everyone seems to like it when they receive one, so I keep making them.
I’m trying not to stress about what I haven’t gotten done…hope you ate stress free too…
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Happy Saturday eve to Jeanne and friends.

My holiday plans are simple as I am the non-sewing, cooking, crafting one (laugh).

Today I have been taking holiday photos with my dolls. I think they enjoy it as much as I do (chuckle). At least the don’t complain.

My best gift (well my doll’s best gift) so far this Christmas was one that my Little Darling received from her “cousin” through our ning Little Darling Group. She got an outfit to reflect the 1950s and an outfit to reflect the 1960s. The theme was Once Upon A New Years Past.

Well, back to photo taking. I think my camera has recharged itself.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
I hope you will share your doll photos with me so everyone can see your new dolly faces and their outfits!!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne
