Ten Ping shows you “Picture Day” on Ebay

I was amazed that I found time to get Ten Ping’s dress set totally finished and listed on Ebay Tuesday evening… of course we didn’t eat dinner till after 8:00, but my hubby “understood.” (or so he said…) I did see him snacking on some leftovers… :o)

I didn’t like Ten Ping’s hat…the brim was too big so I took it apart and redid it…making it about 1/4″ narrower. I don’t know if you can tell the difference but I can. It’s much better.

This picture is the hat BEFORE…

…and this picture of the hat is AFTER…

I had to find her a toy in the Dolly Toy Box... it was wonderful that I had some sweet little aqua bears for her to choose!

When it was time to take pictures it was kind of dreary outside and there wasn’t much light coming in my sewing room. I debated about getting out my light tent that was sent to me, but I was in a rush to get it listed, and fortunately my camera cooperated and I think I captured some pretty sweet pictures.

We especially had a fun time taking pictures of Ten Ping in her new slip. She loved it and kept twirling around in it… :o)

When I made her thigh highs, they took up some “space” in her tiny shoes, so I added a little pull on the back of the shoes so they are easier to get on. It just helps to have something to hold onto.

You can see the listing on Ebay by clicking the picture on the right side bar or you can click HERE.

Well, now to see who might be next… hmmmm…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Ten Ping’s outfit turned out just adorable, Jeanne! Actually, I didn’t mind the size of the brim on her hat before you changed it (I like big hats!), but it’s fine the “new” way, also.

I’m so glad she found the perfect little bear to hold while modeling. The poses with her new dressing table are so cute! I think you’re going to enjoy using that piece with several of your tiny dolls!

    1. HI Charlotte,
I’m so glad you like Ten Ping’s new dress set… even the smaller hat now! :o)
I really liked the pictures when I used the vanity for the backdrop too… I’m sure it will get a work out with my dolls!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Ten Ping looks absolutely adorable in her new outfit. It is perfect with her vanity. I think the vanity will work real well with your smaller dolls. Love the set and the pictures.

    1. Thank you so much, Carole,
I appreciate your kind comments on Ten Ping’s new set and the vanity!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Ten Ping’s outfit came together beautifully, Jeanne! It just seems that one perfect thing led to another, and another! I never thought the brim of the hat was too big, but now when I see the newer hat, or rather brim, I like that better too!
The dressing table is just the thing for a background, and fits very well in the storyline. I really do prefer “real” items in the background to stand up boards. They somehow look too flat and unnatural. I can see you using the dressing table multiple times with your smaller dolls, especially when you show the “underpinnings” of each outfit .

I remember saying not too long ago, “where is fall” and I am still wondering, because it seems like we went straight into winter!! Brrr!

Oh dear, my name isn’t here like yesterday’s! More typing!!

    1. HI Linda,
I really do like “real” things better too…and I “may” or “may not” be working on something for the girls.. .Rebecca just came in my sewing room a few minutes ago…smiled…and said, “Are we crafting!” I just said, “yes we are!”
I’m wondering where Fall is too? Although today was pretty nice…it got up in the 60’s around here… did it in St. Louis? But it’s kind of chilly now…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks Becky,
I’m glad you think this new set for Ten Ping is a winner… I like to hear that… anytime!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. What wonderful photos. The one you chose for ebay looks like it was done by a professional. My favorite being the one with teddy sitting on the vanity stool. Looks like he is watching all of the “getting ready” preparations. And Ten Ping shines in the lovely ensemble. Not a spot of orange left in her creamy complexion.
I finally bought a tube of silicon at Home Depot. I’m going to try putting a coat inside of a doll wig. After it dries, it is supposed to hold as well as a wig cap and protect the doll from that dark wig color transfer. I’ll let you know if it works. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Joy, for the compliments on Ten Ping”s pictures…it was a good photo shoot with lots of twirling around after I gave her Chester!!
You are right…not a speck of orange in her peaches and cream complexion! I like it much better.
Please do share with us how the silicone works on the wigs…I like the idea of the silicone being on the wig instead of on the doll head…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Ten Ping’s new outfit is absolutely adorable and she looks so cute in it. My problem with sewing for my dolly children is that once I make them an outfit, they won’t let me put it out there for someone else to buy. They’re not really selfish, just that they don’t have that much to wear. Maybe if I make two, one for them to keep and one to sell. Hmm… I went to our church fall festival a couple weeks ago and a woman had clothes for 18″ dolls – a ton of them, really cute and priced to sell. She is so prolific at making them she says she’s glad to move some of them out. She says she’s a “procraftinator”, sewing comes before anything else. Wish I could do that. So much of what gets in my way are have-tos that can’t be put off. Hoping to spend the day in my sewing room today. Can’t think of anything else I “have” to do.

    1. HI Barbara,
I guess I’m used to giving up my doll outfits after doing it all these years. Maybe I have a deal with myself to see if I can come up with the next dress and make it even better than the one I have listed… I’ve had a few that were my favorites but I generally am so happy to know that someone wants the dress well enough to pay me for it, that I can happily box it up and send it to the winner. I also get some very sweet emails when the dress sets arrive at the winners house…those emails are priceless to me!
I LOVE your friend”s term…”procraftinator” and think I might be one of them!!! I do have lots of irons in the fire and sometimes things have to be taken care of…but I do cherish my times when I get to sew!!!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    Jeanne ~

Another absolutely BREATHTAKING, STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL outfit! I agree with everyone else; your photos look VERY professional, and that slip is to “die” for! Rather “low” on dolly dollars, though, as I retired from my position early to care for Dad, but “we will see”!

A “dental visit” day for me today. (YUCK!) My (very nice & capable!) dentist is just over the NY border in my home state of NJ, so I will see if the Fall foliage is more colorful there. ROAD TRIP!

    Have a DOLL-lightful Wednesday! ~

Cheryl in NJ (& NY) (And yes; the hot cocoa I made Dad & me yesterday was DELISH!)

    1. HI Cheryl,
Thank you for the compliments on Ten Pings set and my pictures. I really enjoyed putting this sweet set together and was thrilled she looked so adorable posing around hr new vanity.
I hope you saw some pretty leaves on your trip to the dentist…
Some hot cocoa sounds really good to me!!!
      Thanks so much Cheryl,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I thought that Ten Ping looked her best in red, but I think I was mistaken. I don’t know that she’s ever looked better than in this dress. Blue is an excellent color for her. This is a great outfit, and the background piece is perfect. What luck to have found it. The chair is so perfectly the size for Ten Ping, and the space around it makes it work for her and her bear. I’m so glad this outfit went together so well and so quickly.
Now to see who’s next. You still have time for another fall outfit, don’t you? And soon it will be November and time to make Christmas things. That’s always fun.
It might get up to 50 today. We should be up to 60 by Friday.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I am really pleased with how Ten Ping looked in my pictures too. The aqua and black fabric was DEFINITELY the right choice for her!! She is laying on my cutting table looking as pretty as ever…
It will be hard not to use this vanity prop in all her future times of modeling…
Yes, I do believe there is time to make another Fall dress…I need to look at my fabrics and see which ones grab my attention.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping is so cute. I like the change you made in the hat. I think it frames her face better.
    Anything new with your kitchen?

    1. Thank you Dorothy,
I think her hat frames her face better too…it wasn’t supposed to be a sun bonnet, but a sweet dressy sort of hat.
Nothing going on in my kitchen at the moment…too many little things happening around here. I keep saying…one of these days.. and some day, hopefully soon it will.
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. What a sweet little dress set you have created. I’ve been so preoccupied that I missed the past few days. The vanity is really nice and a perfect fit for your smaller girls.
Like Marilyn said, I think there might be time for one additional fall outfit and I’m going to cast my vote for Kirsten. I don’t recall seeing her once this entire year and can’t remember what you may have made last year.
We’re supposed to get our first freeze tonight, but at least there’s still Indian Summer to look forward to.

    1. Thank you Laura,
I do think I’ll get lots of use out of the vanity. It’s really a fun little piece.
I’m going to give one last Fall dress my best shot…I’ll have to look at my fabrics and see what I can decide on…
Poor Kirsten…at least YOU haven’t forgotten her…when it seems I have.
Hope you don’t get too cold tonight…
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne
