More for you in Red, White and Blue…

Because tomorrow is the 4th of July, I’m showcasing some of the Red, White and Blue doll dresses I have made over the years. If you missed yesterday’s post, when I started the slide show, you can see it HERE.

I hope you enjoy seeing the girls I picked for todays viewing…

I hope you’ll come back tomorrow and see the last of my Patriotic dresses! Did anyone get inspired enough to make their own doll a dress?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Just love Kirsten’s outfit (3rd picture down)! I also like Molly’s red dress, immediately after Kirsten’s–Molly’s reminds me of dresses I wore in the early 1950s!!

Have a joyful Independence Day, and Happy Birthday, America!

  2. Charlotte’s right. That red dress looks familiar.
If I had to choose my favorite of this set, it would be Kirsten’s, with those lovely big sleeves. Or maybe Song’s, complete with panda.
I do love these slide shows, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s. I had no idea how may red, white, and blue dresses you’d made. Molly’s sailor outfit looks perfect for that energetic little girl.

  3. I think I figured it out. I’m a real fan of the simpler styling with embellishment added. Like the first adorable sailor dress and the jumper with the white blouse. Of course, Kirsten’s number is one of a kind, and I can only dream of owning something like that. Was that a jumper and blouse or a dress with sleeves attached? Enjoyed seeing your girls all dressed as the only ones around here sporting r/w/b are my Meadow Dumplings still in their rompers and reversible skirts.
We picked up a tri tip at Costco yesterday, so we’ll probably have that on the 4th. No other big plans. Any one else doing something special?
Have a great 4th of July, Jeanne and everyone!

    1. HI Joy,
What’s a tri tip? Or is that a typo? Just curious before I start my day…

      1. Nope, Tri Tip is a cut of beef for bbq. When done, it is cut on the diagonal. Tender and delicious. Costco has it marinated too. That is about all we bbq except chicken.

  4. Here I am! I have been been outside trying to get things done while I can stand it before I am completely drenched! While Michael and I were sitting and resting a bit, a large snake slithered by! Yuck! Not what you want to see when you are working in the yard!

Oh, I absolutely love Kirsten’s dress! I don’t have Kirsten(yet) but she does get such darling, one of a kind outfits I am noticing! Oh yes, Molly’s red dres is something I would have worn too at school. Song’s outfit is another one of a kind too. It looks so sweet on her!

Yes, Joy, what is a tri tip? Better get back outside and finish up!

    1. Hi ho, if you Google tri tip beef, it shows the cut. I had no idea it originated out here in CA. We’ve been cooking it outdoors for a long time. Delicious, easy to serve for a group too. And there is nothing like a tri tip sandwich.

  5. Oh, I bet Bella loved those dresses, Marilyn. My computer was acting up yesterday and for some reason the sister dresses and Kit’s dress didn’t load. When I went back to look at Kirsten’s dress again, there they were.
Kirsten’s dress is my favorite again today. That was one pretty dress on her. my daughter has an early german Kirsten and I love her. Because I have to have a smaller collection Furbabies before dolls :-), beyond Samantha, I don’t do bangs. MG or my custom Nellie with 33’s wig stands on for a pioneer girl. Bangs limit the accuracy of certain eras (and no, Kirsten technically wouldn’t have had bangs). they came later and for older girls like when Laura of Little House cut her “lunatic fringe”.
Molly’s read and white number is really darling as well.
I’m really enjoying seeing all those red, white, and blue dresses, jeanne. You certainly have made a lot of them

  6. HI everyone
I thought I’d chime in here for a,few minutes. We have decided to sell my mom’s house and the last couple of days,we have been sorting, repairing, and cleaning. We hired a couple of teen age boys from church this morning to help with moving the heavier things. We got a lot of stuff done yesterday but still have to clean the kitchen and the Living room….and the outside a little more.
We are hoping to list it with a realtor,in a few, days. We are trying to get the house cleaned out enough to have him take pictures and get it listed.
We plan to have a yard sale at mommas house so the garage is full of “sellable” stuff….hopefully.
I have several boxes I need to sort through tonight, so I better go…
Thanks for your kind comments today about my patriotic doll dresses…maybe next 4th of July I’ll have a new one to share….the way my life has interruptions…I better start on it right away!!
    Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Wow, you and family are really getting on that house. It has taken us over a year to sort through and divide everything. So glad you are close to getting it on the market. I don’t envy you with all of that cleaning as I too did the same. Nothing like cleaning cabinets, a grimy oven, and microwave. But, when you are done, it will all sparkle and hopefully sell quickly. Ours is still on the market. Hoping for an offer.
Hope you have a few minutes to enjoy the 4th.

It took me about a year to go thru my folks’ house, too, Joy. My dad saved Everything, and during the last 15 years or so of her life, mom wasn’t able to take care of things as she normally would have (dementia), so….

On the other hand, I did find some wonderful surprises, like the note I wrote to my grandma when I was 11 and participating in my first 4H sewing contest (I got a blue ribbon)! Apparently I was Very excited about it!! 😉
