If you forgot I was a seamstress…there’s plenty of eye candy today!!

Things have been so busy around my house (and life) lately and I wanted desperately to come up with a sewing post today, but *alas* it didn’t happen. However, I thought of something that I thought might work… I wrote 2 posts at the end of last year showing all the dresses I had made from 2017. I decided I would show them ALL in one post today. As I looked at the dresses I realized something and gasped! It’s from the last line in the second paragraph below! I TOTALLY FORGOT! I’m so sorry! I’ve got something in mind and will get on it right away! I really do treasure everyone who buys from me and for the past five or more years, I’ve always blessed my top 3 buyers with something special…and I wanted to “make good” on those special ladies! :o)

So enjoy these 2 posts below, from January 22 and 23, 2017.

I am so happy you all enjoyed yesterdays Holly Dolly Fashion Show presentation of YOUR Christmas dresses! (HERE) We truly did have a variety of dolls, didn’t we, and wasn’t it fun to see everyone’s talent? (Picture taking, dress making, prop setup, etc) I looked at the pictures several times yesterday and saw something new each time I looked! :o) Thank you so much… now it’s time to start working on your 2018 dresses!

As I looked at the dresses, I wondered just how many dresses I had made this year… I really had no clue as the last few months of this year were sort of haphazard for me…So I took out my 2017 notebook and started going through it… listing all the dresses and who bought them and what they sold for… I’m doing a little double duty work, as I always bless my top 3 ($$) buyers. I know WHO they are and will make them something to say thank you in a small way!

Okay, so back to my dresses… I only made 27 dresses in 2017… that might be a record low… I started the year out nicely and had made 17 by May, but then it sort of dwindled down each month after that… BUT, anyway, I have 27 dresses to show you and will do half today and half tomorrow… I’ve got to spread them out so I can get some of my Christmas done around here… My brother is coming tomorrow to take my mom home with him for Christmas. I’ll give him his Cool Spoons in a Box present before he heads home. After he leaves, I have GOT TO TURN THINGS UP and get going in high gear! :o)

(If you click on the pictures they will enlarge.)

The first dress of 2017 was “Winter Garden,” modeled by Felicity.

Nyssa got to model the last dress in January…

Molly was next in “Pink Perfection.”

Molly, an American Girl doll

It was still February and cold when I did “Springtime in the South.” Rebecca was my very beautiful model for this set…

Noel joined me in February and this was her debut dress… “Sweet and Petite!”

Noel, a 10″ Boneka/Effner doll

Isabelle was the sixth doll to model for me in 2017. She looked stunning in a red and pink dress I called “Pretty as a Picture.”

Eden started us out in March in an Easter dress called “Easter Charm.”

I did a sister set next… one for Janie and one for Noel… in blue and so adorable. I called it “Sisters in Blue.”

It’s almost Easter now and Patsy is “egging” it on, in a sweet set called, “Come on, Easter!”

Willa was next in a dress called “Easter Surprise.”

We’re still in April and Rebecca got to model a very pretty Easter dress called “Timeless in Turquoise.” It was a favorite of mine! I thought she looked so pretty in this color! (even though my camera had a hard time capturing the actual color of it…)

Ten Ping and Noel modeled together in this next dress set. I called it “Spring Fever” for both girls. Talk about dainty looking… it sure did! :o)

Blessings, Jeanne

Here is the 2nd post showing the rest of my 2017 doll dresses!

I know it’s Saturday and you might be scrambling around trying to finish up what’s on your Christmas lists, but I hope you’ll take time to peek at the rest of my dresses from 2017. If you missed yesterday’s post, you might want to go back and see it, as it was the dresses I made the first half of 2017. (HERE)

Let’s get started on what was happening in May. Kirsten was looking awfully sweet in “Pretty on the Prairie.”

My top seller of 2017 was this next dress set, being modeled by Addy. I called it “Southern Charm” and she certainly was charming in this one. I bought this fabric at a little quilt shop down in Cape Girardeau, MO, and after it had sold, and I was back at the shop, I showed the ladies that worked there, some pictures of it on my phone…and I’m not kidding, they ooooohhhed and aaaahhhhhed like nobody ever has before. They told me when I came back through Cape, to come on a Tuesday, because they would both be working and they wanted to see what else I would be making… :o) (Sorry for the picture overload on this one… I guess they weren’t the only ones who liked it!) :o)

“Blissful in Blue” was a beautiful Regency gown modeled by Elizabeth.

Now we’re getting into June and Molly is showing off a set that I had a lot of fun with. I called this one “The Babysitter.” I had fun redoing a little baby doll I found…

It’s Felicity’s turn again and she’s showing off “Colonial Rose.” This was another favorite of mine for the year…

Another new girl came to live at my house… Meet Nora in “Victorian Elegance.”

…and then finally, after a 3 year long wait for my doll to be painted, Emmie was finished and this was her debut dress… “Dainty and Demure.”

It’s Ten Ping’s turn again… this time with a “new face” by Lana Dobbs. Here she is in “Teddy Bear Tea Party.”

We are in September now and Rebecca is modeling a Civil War dress called “Apple Butter Sweet.”

Patsy Tonner was thrilled to be modeling a dress made form this pretty fabric. I called this one “Autumn Leaves.”

Molly takes a turn again and is in “Autumn Lace.”

We’re almost out of months AND dresses. Felicity gets the second to last dress of the year… This was called “Fall Fancy” and believe me, it was… I made a custom hat for it from straw and think Felicity looked darling in this set.

My last dress of 2017 was modeled by Lian, my 13″ Dianna Effner, Little Darling. Unbelievably, this was the only dress she modeled for me all year long… Here she is in “Christmas Snowflakes.” What a little sweetheart she is!

Okay, now that I’m officially out of dresses, you may go shopping! :o) I hope you enjoyed today’s…oops… this years dresses!

See you in a few days… If you’re leaving to go somewhere for Christmas, drive safely and have a wonderful time!

Blessings, Jeanne

Well, did you really think I could forget how to sew? I don’t think that will ever happen… I hope it never does!

Thanks everyone,
See you when I can,

  1. Jeanne,

I find it astounding that you have energy to greet us today with a beautiful blog of last year’s creations. Thank you for caring for us…I never tire of seeing your work nor hearing of your life whatever it may hold on any day. Thank you for being so thoughtful to us, your friends out here in e-land.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you Becky,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing all the 2017 dresses again. It was fun for me to see them again ….and see who got left out last year… …poor girls!
I didn’t want everyone to think this had turned into a home improvement blog… :o)
      Thanks so much Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Back to the Savory pan, it was great seeing Marilyn’s and Jane’s new babies. I was amazed to see that they came in several sizes. I didn’t think of ribs, but that will be my first endeavor should the pan come my way. While recently working on cleaning out my mother in law’s home (70 years of stuff) I believe that she had one of the pans. Neither sis in law nor I grabbed either at the time as we were dividing up the kitchen. I thought, what a strange pan with no complete bottom. Anyway, a huge roomful of items ended up going to niece to sell. I asked her yesterday if she might still have the roasting pan, and she said that she did. Said she probably would not use it and did I want the large or the small. Apparently, there were two of them. I said the large, but maybe I should have said the small one. Anyway, we’ll see if I end up with one in the future. I’m pretty sure it is a Savory. Interesting.
For anyone interested, JenWren’s Summer Sew Along begins next week for anyone so inclined. I believe she said it was going to be something Victorian. Not too awake when I looked at the post. 🙂
Lovely dress review. How’s the big “K” doing? Enjoying that new sink, faucet, stove, cabinets, and beautiful flooring? Wow
Have a great rest of the week.

    1. Hi Joy,
Oh boy…ribs are fantastic in it…you won’t be sorry you got it back!!
Rhanks for the invite to join the sewing with JenWren….I hope you have fun with your “victorian” project! Remember to take pictures!!!
I told my hubby I was going to finish the polycrylic-ing of the drawers today!!!I intend to keep my word to him!!!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Dorothy in PA

Dear Jeanne, I loved seeing the dresses! Some of them I remember as I came to sit on your sofa the middle of last year (chuckle). I love that you made 27 dresses. You probably know that 27 Dresses is the name of a romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl.
An early Happy Mother’s Day to you and the blog mothers (and doll mothers)!

    1. HI Dorothy,
I can just see you sitting on your couch looking at my dolly dresses! That makes me smile!
I should look up that movie, as I don’t think I’ve seen it before.
      I wish you a Happy Mother’s Day …early…too!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. That was a mistake! I have been really enjoying the kitchen and getting along fine, but when I saw all those pretty dresses, I suddenly wanted bunches of them. The one I want most is Addy’s. I think the necklace with the turquoise dress was my all time favorite necklace. I love the colors and fabrics you’ve used, the outfits are as beautiful as they were when you made them and I will be happy to see more old ones and some new ones when you are ready. I just hadn’t realized how much I missed seeing new creations. Your priorities are where they should be, though. After 13 1/2 years (isn’t that right?), you need your kitchen finished, and every day it’s more outstandingly beautiful. You will never regret this time. And after the surgery you can come home to a house that doesn’t need work and spend the time recovering. You could not be doing better.

    1. Oh Marilyn,
I’m so glad you loved today’s post and hadn’t forgotten what “I Dream of Jeanne Marie” is really all about.
      :o)
I don’t think it will be finished in the next 2 weeks but we’re going to devote tomorrow to the kitchen…I’m hoping for lots of results.
I did buy a new paper towel holder today! Woohoo!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. How fun to see all those beautiful dresses once again. I really think some of the very prettiest dresses were made last year. My favorites are the ones modeled by Felicity only topped by the Civil war ones on Rebecca and Addy. I also really liked the turquoise Victorian one on Rebecca. I agree with Marilyn that the necklace on that one was probably the loveliest one ever.

    1. Thank you Laura,
It was fun to see some doll dresses again, wasn’t it?….even for me…
It looks like you and Marilyn like the same dresses ….and necklaces…I loved that necklace of Rebecca’s too!
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. No you won’t forget how to sew. I liked Dorothy’s comment about 27 Dresses being a movie. I watched it last weekend! Well, your dresses are better than the movie. I don’t think I could pick a favorite, unless it would be anything pink. Or, maybe the green and yellow one Felicity is wearing. You will be able to get back to sewing when kitchen is finished.

    1. Hi Carolyn,
It’s fun to see which dresses everyone likes best. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing something from the archives…
I’m going to definitely check out that movie!
      Thanks Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Let’s add Willa’s lilac dress to the favorites list. In my whole life I don’t recall our lilacs being so beautiful. On the drive to my doctor’s appointment this morning, there were bushes so bushy that if they hadn’t been named yet, someone would call them Puffy Purple bushes.
Every time I look through this set of outfits, I see another that I think has not been sufficiently complimented. A year’s worth of beautiful work is an accomplishment to treasure.

    1. Thank you very much Marilyn,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the dresses so much again!
Your lilacs sound really pretty! Puffy Purple bushes… nice! :o)
      Thanks,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Dear Jeanne, an amazing parade of wonderful doll outfits.
We all love different dolls, and you have catered for everyone.
I love Emmie especially. But my favourite dress is the last one, Lian in her Christmas dress and beautiful broderie anglais and lace ensemble.
Kudos to you for a year of spectacular sewing.
I have bought the makings of osso buco to freeze, for when my savory pan arrives.
Please note I have spelled it SAVORY because it is stamped on it’s side.
I do hope my Savory pan arrives intact. Customs just sliced a precious pattern. I think they look for nasty persons to be customs officers.
Hope the sun shone for you today, Jane

    1. HI Jane,
The sun DID shine on me today…it actually got up to 90 degrees here today…quite warm!! Thanks for the compliments on all my many dresses from last year. I’m happy you enjoyed seeing them again.
I hope your SAVORY pan arrives safe and sound sooner than you hope! It seems you are quite ready to cook something in it! :o) I hope it turns out well!
How awful about your pattern being cut… meanie people!! :o(
Thanks Jane, Hope you had a lovely autumn day!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Jane’s mail included an important reminder. When I was looking for Savory pans on Ebay, I got an assortment of different shapes and types. I think we all know that not every seller knows what he or she is selling. I think some sellers think that a Savory pan may be a type of pan rather than a brand, so they label a speckled blue roasting pan or other enameled pan a Savory pan. From looking at pictures on Google and Ebay, I think Savory pans can be identified easily by the SAVORY stamped or embossed on the side. The letters stand out so you can feel them instead of just see them.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Exactly right!!! An enamel ware pan isn’t a savory, unless it’s a “SAVORY!”
      Smart cookie, you are!!!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
