Hi everyone,
Today Cindy and I went shopping and we had fun!! Lots of fun! It’s always fun when she’s along to help me shop! We went to Goodwill, TJ Maxx, Renew, and then went to lunch at Panera’s. As long as it’s summer, I ALWAYS get the Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad. It’s so yummy and I never get tired of eating it! SEE how delicious it is!!
Tom and my hubby decided while we were gone they would get started on putting the roof on the carport my hubby has been trying to get set up. It was almost 100 degrees today of all days! They worked hard and felt it. (I took this picture when we finally got home…)
We were still in town, but headed home, Cindy asked me if the old Thrift Shop was open. I said it was, so we stopped by there to see what they had. While we were there Cindy took pictures on her phone to show Tom. It’s been a long time since he was in there and she thought he’d like to see how they’ve changed things. Well, when we got home and she was transferring her pictures to me, to share with you, she came up with the idea of a scavenger hunt for anyone who wanted to try and find the things. I had some trouble getting the pictures clear enough for you to see things. On her iPhone, the pictures were crystal clear. If you want, and just for fun, you can maybe try to find some of these things… If you just click on the left side of your mouse, the pictures will enlarge… or you can just zoom in on them with control and the + sign.

Well, everyone is in bed, but me, so I better go too…
Oh, and I forgot, our Air Conditioning fan motor stopped working, so we have no air conditioning… well, Tom and Cindy do… my hubby put a window unit in the master bath so it should keep their room cool enough. It’s a good thing I shopped till I dropped today… maybe I’ll fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Looks like you and Cindy had a wonderful outing! I love that salad from Panera, too.
And the scavenger hunt–such fun! I found everything but the gold lion. Some things turned up in a couple of pictures, I noticed. I hope you’ll let us know where everything is tomorrow!
I had sewing guild this afternoon, and brought DeeDee and Howard and Olive and Stan with me. They were a hit! I we had supper at Panera afterwards, too!
Oh, a scavenger hunt! Well, it is late for me to get going, so I will try to find everything a bit later, since I have a lot to do and mornings are when I get the most done. I kind of slack off in the afternoon, so will get back to the hunt later.
Oh gosh, George and Tom working in this heat! Michael was in our garage yesterday having trouble getting a flat tire off of his truck, and the heat didn’t help with that! I certainly hope that you get that fan fixed for your air conditioner, because this heat is not fun at all! Maybe another day shopping in air conditioned stores is the best bet!
And yes, let us know where things are tomorrow from the scavenger hunt!
Everything about this day was so great, Jeanne, the only crummy thing is the fan!. Boo! The carport is going to be very helpful!
Okay, I am a pretty good hunter and I feel very confident that I can find all of these items
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Well, most sorry about the AC fan problem. When it gets that hot, I’m non functional. Hope it isn’t a difficult fix. So, who is going to get to park under the structure this winter? Jeanne or George? might be nice to have when it’s snowing so you wouldn’t have to dig out a car.
Wow, that thrift store has a lot of stuff. Is it all for sale or just certain easier to reach items? I honestly did not see much in which I would be interested unless the prices were good. I did see a large glass bottle with lid for $7.99. I think that might have been the only thing of interest for me. Of course, being there in person would probably make me change my tune. I gave up on trying to find items although that spaceship looks fun. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one and it looks like Little Tykes.
I have no idea how George and Tom were able to work in that heat even in the shade. Not good working conditions. Here, we did manage to uncover the forgotten woodpile under the upper deck and move it all around the house to the newly created stacked pile. Also, pulled out lots of other wood that had ended up around the yard in various places and moved that as well. It was interesting when I watered as I found that I could actually walk along the path and not worry about tripping on a chunk of wood. So much better. But, it was hot here too in the backyard so we quit before the sun got any worse. Got in a walk and delivered tomatoes to a couple of friends.
After lunch, we decided to head to Kaiser. It was the first day of the new Covid shots being available. So we got in a not too long line and had both the Covid and the flu shot for those in our age group. Well, old. Piece of cake, but a slightly sore arm this morning. So worth it especially after our bout with Covid from an unknown source this summer.
Not sure if we’ll get back to deck work today as we’re supposed to have another hot one. But, I have so much work to get done out there, but not enough shade.
Keep cool everyone.
Glad that you got some of those boards moved, y’all work so hard!!
Thank you for the good wishes for my back. He says if it gets to one half of the first pain to let him know. That would be time for another pinched nerve shot. Yikes, but it helps.
Dear Jeanne, thanks for sharing your sisters adventure with us. I love Panera’s also, especially the soup.
Jeanne, I couldn’t get the photos to enlarge so I failed most of the hunt.
I am glad that George and Tom survived the heat, that looks like a very hard job!
Amazingly we on the GA coast have had lovely weather for this time of year. The sun is hot but we have very cool breezes.
Now I have to get busy with making my fourth batch of jam. I hope that will be the last until February when the Florida strawberries come out. Then it will be freezer Strawberry jam.
Y’all have a good day and I hope Jeanne has AC!
Oh, yes! I love that salad at Panera too. My go-to in the summer when I get to Panera (none close to me).
I will do the scavenger hunt this afternoon since I got a late start this morning and still need to use my rowing machine. David and Sean are on an A/C job putting in a condenser so they will be late for lunch which works for me today. Still hot here. The cooler weather we were promised for this week never showed up. Very disappointing.
Great idea! Scavenger hunt!
What fun, a scavenger hunt. I managed to find all the items but it took a while. The space ship took the longest, believe it or not, I was looking for a small toy! That is one big ship! I had to go through the photos a couple of times and enlarge them twice! Good idea Cindy.
It is supposed to be 22C today, about 74F so very nice for early spring. I think it all turns to custard tomorrow though. Lots of rain forecast. We haven’t had the heater going the last couple of days which is good for the power bill.
Have a good day
That’s funny about the space ship because that is basically the only thing I found. I’m not good at searching. 🙂
