Hi everyone,
The air conditioning is on and it’s cool.
The carport roof is done… those guys rule!
My sister and hubby are leaving today.
We were blessed so much with the few days they stayed.
Cindy and I had some great sister time!
Now I am finished with this short silly rhyme.
I am sorry the pictures weren’t clear enough for you to see all the items on the list. Cindy found the things for the list as she zoomed in on the pictures on her phone. I never even considered the pictures wouldn’t be clear like they were on Cindy’s phone.
One thing, Charlotte, the gold lion is on the right side of the upper shelf in the Thrift World picture.
Maybe those of you who have an iPhone can see the pictures easier than those of us who have an Android.
Well, that’s it from me today… stay tuned for dolly pictures soon!!
Blessings, Jeanne
So glad to hear the a/c is working again, and the carport roof is on! It’s nice that you have sisters to do sister days with. I just have one brother.
Thanks for telling me where that lion is! I can’t tell you how many times I went over each picture, looking for it!! Talk about hidden in plain sight!!
I don’t do emails, etc., on my phone, either, so I was using my nice big laptop screen to look!! No excuses!!
I’m fighting a sinus infection. I had a regularly scheduled doctor’s appt. yesterday, and brought up the sinus symptoms I’d had Sunday. Laura checked me out, and yup, time for my annual September sinus infection. At least I didn’t get one in June, like I so often do (I seem to get 2-3 a year). So I didn’t go to Bible study or do much of anything today, just mostly napped and read.
We had Very hot weather today (90–set a new record for this date!), but it is starting to cool off again, and should be more comfortable the rest of the week again. Of course, no a/c in my house, so I’ve had doors and windows open. I’m glad I live in a relatively safe neighborhood!
Wishes for quick relief from your sinus infection, Charlotte. My Peyton used to get them every spring and winter, but not the last couple of years. I guess he has finally got used to living on the coast, LOL! Maybe you can find some more sewing that you have stashed away to keep you with something to do.
So glad that things turned out for you, Jeanne! What a relief that the air conditioning is back and now the roof of the carport is on! Bring on the snow! 🤣. All we keep getting is hot stuff and leaves are dropping all over, not because it is fall, but because they are dried up.
Ok, now, you answered Charlotte about where the lion was, which in fact there were two, one on each side of the shelf, but I absolutely cannot find the Muppet poster! It is driving me crazy! I see posters but they are not Muppet posters, so I was wondering if this so called Muppet poster is really not a Muppet poster, but you might think it is. Where is it????
You might know, that after writing the above, I decided to check again and see if I could find the poster. Well, guess what? I found it! I guess I wasn’t too sharp yesterday!😊
Hooray Jeanne, I am glad that you have cool air again.
I am glad to know you have the carport up. I hope it survives any wild weather, it does look very sturdy.
Well, we had rain yesterday, almost all day. It has been so many weeks (it seems) that we have had rain, that it sounded …. unusual. Especially in our new house.
I spent most of the day yesterday insulating the sky lights in the upstairs, they make the upstairs roasting hot. So, I solved most of that by putting two layers of foam insulation in the cut outs of the sky lights. It was a huge ridiculous job.
I did not do the search for the items at the thrift shop yet, so I will do that today, so glad there were not any revealing clues so far.
We are having rain today too. Not pouring, but pretty nice and steady off and on. we are in Northern Virginia, 35 miles west of “the swamp” also known at DC. I stayed home and did chores yesterday,. Today I hope to do a bit of sewing.
Charlotte, I hope you get rid of that sinus infection quickly.
Okay, now I am going to share a snazzy thing I do.
I get out my mixer and mix up a batch of oatmeal cookies. Then, I put the dough in the fridge for a few hours. Then I take that out and roll the dough into one inch balls and lay them around a big plate.
Then I put the big plate into the freezer and freeze the cookie balls.
I make little zipper bags and write, do not thaw, just put frozen balls on cookie sheet and start the oven at 375 degrees.
when the cookie balls are frozen I put them in the marked freezer bags.
Sometimes we want a cookie, but not too many. It is nice to just put 6 or 8 cookie balls on a cookie sheet and make them. Then we gobble them up and have no left overs.
Yes, I could bake the whole batch, but you know as well as I do, that frozen BAKED cookies are too enticing.
I hope all of you have a very happy day
So glad your AC is back and running and that the car cover thingy is done. Glad you had some fun sister time too.
As to the hunt yesterday. I didn’t find many things, but I did see that golden lion on the left shelf. So today, I looked again and I still can’t find a lion on the right. I think I’m losing it. 🙂
Here, it was very hot yet again. So, I crawled under the upper deck and cleaned up all of the leaves wood pieces etc. Filled a can and trimmed back some things before the scorching began. Other person was tightening some deck screws right above, so I was hoping that nothing would fall through the cracks onto me. I only ran into a beam a couple times with my head, no injuries, so that is good. The ground slopes up under there. Anyway, it got way too hot so we quit and decided to take a walk after we cooled down. Made it a few blocks and then I decided that was far enough. I had forgotten my visor and it was way too hot as well. Came home and drove to Costco for a hot dog lunch reward. 🙂
Now, there isn’t much stopping me from that deck cleaning I need to do. Except that we are expecting rain here. Apparently, there is some tropical storm heading up the coast. So, we’ll see how it goes.
Keep cool or dry whatever is the choice. 🙂
Ouch, your poor head. I have done that.
I am glad you got some pre fall clean up done!
The scavenger hunt was fun. Couldn’t find the Muppet poster. Guess I’ll have to ask Linda but glad she didn’t reveal where it was. I’ll keep looking.
Air conditioning going out was contagious yesterday. Actually all electricity went out at 2 pm the first time since I’ve lived here for 33 years! Didn’t come back on until after 2 am. The pot lights in the kitchen are the only casualties but USAA insurance will cover that. Everything okay in the refrigerator.
I haven’t been commenting much but I’m still following the blog. Lavender’s outfit is adorable. It’s great to follow the collaboration with followers that Jeanne encourages. Please keep those beautiful ensembles coming. 🥰
It is lunch time here on the east coast so I think I will do the searching in the photos!!
So glad your A/C is working since you can’t seem to cool off there either. I saw on the weather last night that the central part of the country is all hot but that should be shifting soon, but that still means high 80s low 90s for us.
I couldn’t find the lion either but I did find the Carbondale-opoly game. Surprised that wasn’t on the list. I actually zoomed in on the pictures on my computer but I still couldn’t find the Gold Lion, the Star Fish, the Snack Shop Box or the pink and gray quilt. But it was fun looking.
I had a real problem with the final swimsuit yesterday. It is the only one I did with navy thread and I swear the problem was the thread. I have had no problems with my machine but it would not stitch properly. It was like the tension was off but it automatically sets. I rethreaded the machine several times, even did a new bobbin thinking maybe it wound wrong but nothing worked. It looks fine from the outside so I gave up and went with it. I’m going to try sewing something else with the thread and see what happens. I was using stretch fabric and a longer length stitch but I had been doing that all along. Oh, I also changed the needle.
Well it is almost lunchtime. Hubby was using the kitchen table to hold a meeting about a job this morning so I just now got into my study. In the meantime I did a lot of clean-up and putting away in my sewing room so my time was not wasted.
Interesting about the thread. I’m having problems with the tension on my machine too and not a clue how to fix it. Maybe I should read the manual. 🙂
Okay, the scavenger hunt!
First off, I like that umbrella with the Simplicity ladies on it.
Also, in one of your photos, that large hanging fish looks like it is going to chomp that doggie wearing the blue dress!
I found everything except…. the starfish, need to check for that again.
The muppets poster, need to put my super glasses on
and the drum! that might be near the violin.
Very excellent treasure hunt Jeanne and sis!
I found the drum on a sideways shelf but it was hard to see. Later I was looking for something else in another picture and the drum was right in front of my face. All I’ll say is it’s in the first picture. Can’t find the starfish either.
