Very Beautiful Valentine Beauties!

I was making cookies and putting the final touches on my games for our Couple’s Valentine party, so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I received some pictures from Linda… of her dolls dressed in their wonderful Valentine attire! They look SO pretty and you’ll agree!

If you click on the pictures, they will enlarge.

First, her are Cecile and Kirsten with their Valentine treats!

Next, is Felicity, as usual, getting ready for a party!

Next the 40’s girls at their party.

The modern girls are all dressed in red and white!

Last, Molly is getting ready for her friends in her kitchen.

Love to you,
Linda💕

Thank you Linda… you were a life saver today! Your pictures were truly welcomed and so timely! They were also so fun to look at! :o)

Thanks a million!
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a fun post this was! It’s always nice to see someone’s dolls dressed up for the holidays, and Linda did not disappoint!! Everyone seems to have lots of treats (even a real Russell Stover’s heart box for Molly!) and all the settings are so festive. I love Felicity’s gown; that pink is so pretty! And also Molly’s and Betsy’s dresses. I see even some of the dogs are getting dressed up! Thanks for sharing, Linda.

Jeanne, I see Lian’s dress has 5 bids now. Woohoo!!

What can I say besides, “thank you” Jeanne for showing my dolls? Since i took the pictures, I always find something that shouldn’t be there, or an imperfection somewhere, or the lighting isn’t right, or just something!! I mistakenly sent the wrong picture of Felicity, since I had received a very pretty valentine fan for her to hold, and that didn’t show up when I sent the picture I did. I have her holding a fan, just a regular fan. Oh well!

Thank you so much, Charlotte, for the kind words! It does take time to get everything out, and I do appreciate it when people notice. I do not think anyone in my neighborhood knows what goes on in this house! 🙂

Thank you for the festivity, Linda. You always decorate so beautifully. I am so slack I just sew for my dolls, the clothes go to buyers and my poor dollies get back into their old clothes. At least they have some. I used to get out all sorts of decor for them but that has not happened for a long time. I just love to sew and the $ I get are needed these days. It is a joy to see every time your wonderful displays are shown.

  3. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Sissy! I do understand how you feel about dressing your dolls and then having to change them all the time, but I don’t sew for mine, so that gives me more time to decorate and change them. I sometimes wonder if you all are getting tired of me sending pictures to Jeanne, who is so wonderful about showing them! Keep on sewing and giving joy to others! I’m sure you get joy out of it too!

    1. I noticed in one of your doll scenes, a school scene, you had a few dolls in Molly’s plaid jumper. I’ve gotten several of those plaid jumpers when they’re on sale through EBay and AMG. Some day I’d like to make a school scene. In the meantime, I’ve found several of the wooden school desks on sale as well for the school scene.
Planning scenes is so much fun and I hope at some point, I can finish it.

I totally agree Paula that planning scenes is so much fun, even if they don’t show up for a while. I’ve been planning a dance recital for a few years now and think I’ve finally got most of my ducks in a row to do that. Last summer I finally accomplished the pool party I’d been planning for a long time.

        1. Barbara, I hope we can see your recital when you’re done with it. That should be fun!

My other scene would be grade school talent as I have the AMG cardboard stage. Maybe a choir or a few individual singers.

      2. Linda in St. Louis

That’s great that you have Molly’s school jumpers! I have three, but just one desk, which works out well for the amount of room I have. (Not much). I have Maryellen’s school set with the chalkboard and maps, which also makes for a cute scene. I would try to find that or at least make on for your own schoolroom.

Oh, Linda. Please never think we’re getting tired of your wonderful efforts. And my Betsy would be forever disappointed if she didn’t have a chance to see your Betsy’s lovely outfits. I know I love, love, love seeing your wonderful scenes.

Well, thank you, Barbara! I was glad to help Jeanne out since she has that Valentine party to prepare for.

Oh, what a wonderful almost Valentine’s Day! I just love to see all of the beautifully dressed dolls and their fab accessories that Linda shares with us. Thank you Jeanne and Linda because these pics are so fun.
I love Cecile’s outfit. I actually have Cecile, but she doesn’t get much attention around here. And of course, I love sweet Kirsten. The cookies she has prepared and placed on her cookie tray are delightful. And Felicity, party girl, always looks well prepared. Everything looks so festive including those tiny pastel cakes with the little candles. Fun. Oh, those 40’s girls all look ready to party. Love the red outfits. The candle decorations are a great idea and the tiny candy box for one of the pups too. 🙂 The modern girls look so sweet with their pets. That pet on the shelf has the cutest outfit. Love the Valentine headband. In fact, without the Valentine’s, the scene would work perfectly for Chinese New Years too. 🙂 Love it as it is though. And last but not least, lovely Molly always busy in the kitchen and producing such an attractive tablescape. The little hearts, napkins, and sweet treats all combine to make a special welcome for her guests. I’ll be looking in again later to take notes. Thank you. 🙂

Thank you, Joy! You certainly do notice everything! The dress that Cecile is wearing is a knock off of Samantha’s Talent Show dress. I always like it because it is so much like the turn-of-the-century dresses that are hard to find. The real deal is hard to find, and then very expensive!

I thought it was only fair that Kirsten also got some Valentine treats, and her Christmas tray works for her.

Felicity’s table is set with Samantha’s party treats, plus a few other things. And Molly’s table is set with things we would have when I was small. I’m happy to say that she now has a sink, as pictured to her left in her kitchen. Took forever to find one in good shape that didn’t break the bank!

Actually, Ivy does have her Chinese New Year dress on, since the color worked also for Valentine’s Day. It’s from AG’s cultural celebration collection.

    1. Joy in northern CA

Had to back and check our your sink. I had one too, way back in the early 50’s. It actually had running water from a tank thing in the back. Does yours have a place for water? I also keep looking for a refrigerator and sink. So many are a rusted mess. I have an electric stove like the one I had as a kid. Guess I should look harder for the others. 🙂 And I did see Ivy’s dress and remembered about Chinese New Years. Since it goes all month, she can keep celebrating. 🙂 I’m going to take a look for a dress similar to the one Cecil is wearing. Awfully cute. 🙂

      1. Linda in St. Louis

Joy, yes, I had a tank in the back of the sink for water, but I had my husband take it off. I was never going to use it! I had one like that when little, and we were always spilling water all over the place with it. Just loved to turn the water on and have it come out of the faucet! (and all over the place which my mother was not fond of) I I really wanted a Wolverine sink, but the good ones were too expensive, so found this one, by Marx, and it was in really good condition, especially for the $15 I got it for! No rust, escept for the inside of the sink, but that is gone now. I sanded it off and painted it silver. The water-play is what caused the rust.

  6. Linda, your pictures are fabulous and always such a treat to see! All the goodies you decorate with are wonderful and of course your girls are all dressed so sweetly.
Thank you Linda and Jeanne for enlightening the start of our Valentines Day tomorrow!

I know it’s a lot of work dressing the dolls we have and some of my many AMG dolls get neglected. I just have too many AMG’s but I love them all. I think it’s time too play Survivors with them!

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Paula! I have limited myself to the number of dolls I have, because I want to be able to have them all share in my attention, if you will, in dressing them and having them participate in various activities. I think I have found my limit! I just cannot do more than I have and might, just might, add a RRFF someday, but not right now.

  7. Susette from Southern California

I certainly look forward to seeing Linda’s beautiful tableaux set up for seasons and holidays. Is that the right word for them? Scenes just sounds too common. So I looked it up and it sure does apply. Linda is certainly a set decorator as well as a doll collector. I love the lace tablecloths and runners used in different ways. Her dolls are all dressed perfectly for their eras. Those are very fancy letters, G for Giraffe and M for Monkey. Do you have the whole alphabet with animals? Wow! Speaking of animals, your dolls don’t lack for happy dogs 🐕 and cats 🐈! The kitchen is so complete and in wonderful condition. Thanks, Linda and Jeanne, for a real Valentines Day treat ❤️🥰!

  8. How pretty everyone looks, Linda! That’s one of my favorite Kirsten outfits since it reminds me a little of the dirndls my great aunt used to send to me from Germany, but not having her a different doll wears it. Felicity looks lovely in Elizabeth’s meet and Samantha’s party treats are so much fun. Those and her Mosser lemonade set were two of my very first purchases. I loved how dainty everything was and that the candles were removable.
Your 40s girls have gone all out with their dresses and decorating. Molly’s party is certainly not one to miss either with treats and that big box of chocolates.
I noticed her new sink because of the towel beside it. Always have one there is well from wiping the chrome.
Wonderful that the pets are joining in the fun. Coconut as cupid is adorable! That set looks different that the AG one I recall seeing. My Valentine’s day doll dressing plans came to naught, but the kitties have their seasonal toys out and will get a special treat tomorrow and that matters more to me. I can dress mine vicariously through yours.

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Laura! I love Kirsten’s outfit too, but I thought you already had Kirsten. Maybe that was your daughter? I know that some of the things I put together don’t really “belong”, like Samantha’s party treats, and Felicity, but I think they look pretty good together, and they are both from “a long time ago”! Same as with Cecile and her dress, which is really Samantha’s. I don’t have Samantha, so Cecile gets her clothes. I’m not quite the “purist” you are!

Coconut’s Valentine costume is from AG, in fact, I bought it at the store, when we had one. I thought I remember you having one too.

      1. Oh, I’m far from the “purist”, Linda. Only half of my dolls -Felicity, Samantha, and Josefina have their collections and even then Samantha and Josefina are renamed and I alter their stories a bit. My other three mostly have historical things that aren’t originally theirs and “live” in different eras. My re-wigged Nellie has Kit’s items, for example. Yes, Kirsten is my daughter’s and the first one that started it all.
No, I have some of the Coconut sets, but not the Valentine one.

  9. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you so much, Susette! Now really, you do a mean tableaux yourself with your beautiful dolls and accessories!

Now those alphabet letters you see on the shelves behind Felicity, well, the are Mary Engelbreit letters, that I found in Branson, and I picked out letters that corresponded with my grandchildren’s first names. The G you see is for Gavin, and the M is for either Myles or Maggie, so I do have two of those. In addition, I have A for Annie, J for Jonathan, and W for Willie. I think they are on EBay sometimes, since they aren’t made anymore, but are really a cute addition in the doll room.

Pets for the dolls put so much fun into the scenes, and what children don’t want pets?
    Thank you again, Susette!

Great pictures today Linda! I love seeing the American Girls decked out for a holiday with all the trimmings. I could not choose a favorite group because I love all of them. Happy Valentines Day!

    1. Linda in St. Louis

Well, thank you, Debbie! I didn’t know it was a “pick your favorite” one! I just fix them as well as I can and hope it is good enough! Happy Valentine’s Day to you too!❤️

  11. Barbara in SE Texas

I had a monstrous task today and am jumping on the blog late in the day but I just had to tell Linda how much I enjoy seeing all her lovely young ladies in the beautiful Valentine holiday scenes she put together. I hope she is still checking in. All the amazing details in the Valentine scenes are breathtaking. And everyone is dressed so lovely. All the dresses are beautiful. Since I’m in a bit of a hurry I will just say that Joy said it all for me and then probably some I hadn’t noticed.

I’ve spent the day adding back all the information to my Quicken program that had gotten lost when I “updated” recently. Makes me afraid to do it again but I have no control over that. I’m going to reward myself by buying the new RRFF Mini Hanna.

    1. Joy in northern CA

Ah ha, a mini Hanna fan. I’ve been debating on her for sure. She will be so cute with little Sara and my Ten Ping group. Haven’t pushed the buy button yet, but maybe. )

  12. Linda in St. Louis

Thank you, Barbara! I certainly understand computer problems, so no worries about that! Enjoy your mini Hanna! She is a cutie!
