More for Ten Ping… a new white blouse!

Hi everyone,
Ten Ping is thrilled to not have to wear her black jacket without something underneath. I have started a white blouse for her… it’s not totally finished… but almost. I still have to hem it and put the snaps on the back. I am going to leave it as long as I can so it will stay tucked in her skirt. I added a bit of velcro at the cuffs on the inside so the sleeves could fit a bit tighter at her wrists, but stay in place when the jacket was put on. I also hand stitched some pretty lace to mimic a collar at the neckline and then added a black floss bow.

Her red leather purse was dry this morning, so it’s all finished… but she did tell me she wanted a “few” school supplies, even if it was just some pencils! So we’ll see about something to go inside.

Here are some pictures of the set, so far…

I think she looks very scholarly, don’t you?

I love how the pleats are staying so well in her skirt…

Maybe one more day and I’ll be done with this set…

I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Oh, Jeanne, her blouse is just perfect!! I can see that TenPing is very pleased with it. Yes, some school supplies would be great. Maybe you could take some shishkebob sticks (those really thin ones) and cut them to size and color them (or at least the tips) to represent pencils? Or use a very thin dowel, cut and sharpened. (I would sharpen it before you cut the length you want–easier to manage.)

For those of you who commented on my report about Ron, etc. in yesterday’s blog, I did reply to all the comments.

Now I’m dealing with a sinus infection–so far, mild, but I did see the doctor today and am on antibiotics because of my other health issues.

    1. Hi Charlotte, I’m glad to hear that both you and Ron are adjusting. I’m sure you’re enjoying having time to do some things you like as well and can have the visiting time just be enjoyable. I hope your sinus infection clears up quickly.

Charlotte, wondering if your sinus infection isn’t an allergy? Because other person has been suffering recently. Not a sinus infection. Sneezing/coughing. An Allegra off brand from Costco, has helped. So much stuff in the fall to cause allergies. Hope you get better soon.

I was just going to say “Oh Jeanne, her blouse is just perfect”, but Charlotte beat me to it! Still and all, it IS perfect and the whole outfit is adorable! Those knife pleats are just perfection! Did you iron them to keep them looking so nice and sharp? Just everything about it is first rate and perfect for any little doll of her size!

Great job! I like her new socks and the bow on her shirt is a nice touch! 🙂

Hope you get to feeling better soon, Charlotte!

The outfit has turned out so nicely. Better watch out or Ten may be in hiding rather than giving up her outfit. 🙂
I’ve another package out for delivery today. Going to be a tough one.

That picture of Ten Ping on the bench with the pleats all flared out is so fantastic. Every part of this ensemble works so well. The white blouse looks just like one I used to have 🤭 How do you keep the pleats so sharp? Maybe because it is wool?Spray starch? Something else still for her outfit? What could it be?
    Another Joy escapade coming😲?
I still need to take doll pics on the sofa too🤔
Always something to keep our interest☺️

Ten Ping’s ensemble is over the moon. I love her blouse. So dainty but not too dainty for the outfit. Her bookbag is very nice and her socks are the cutest. I have to keep reminding myself that Ten Ping is a tiny doll so this outfit is even more amazing.

Charlotte, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I’ve only ever had a sinus infection once and that was enough.

Had a little rain this morning but to quote a line from the movie “Rear Window”, the rain just made the heat wetter. It definitely upped the humidity and David and the boys are working outside today. Fall weather where are you?

Dear Jeanne, the outfit looks adorable. I love velcro on dolls’ clothing. I find it so much easier to get things fastened.

Still keeping you and your husband in my prayers.

Here is some information about dolls in Gettysburg. Your sister Cindy probably heard about them. The dolls are Sadie and Mollie. Here is the link for information.

They are made to honor two little girls who lived during the time of the Civil War.

Thanks so much for sharing. My great grandfather, in the Civil War, as a drummer boy, used to go to the reunions in Gettysburg. In fact, I’ve seen him in some of the parades they used to have. He loved going. They stayed in tents set up for the reunion. The men always wore suits. Must have been so hot, but he really enjoyed it.

  8. Ten Ping’s outfit is just so perfect. She definitely looks like she goes to a prep school. The white blouse is great and it’s so nice it can be worn with or with the jacket and look finished. The bookbag is super cute as well.

Good luck Joy. We’ll be waiting to see how steathily you pull off this dolly caper.

Ten Ping’s outfit is lovely and the blouse is perfect. I, too, wondered how you managed the pleats so perfectly.
It is definitely spring here, lots of daffodils, blossom and, unfortunately, pollen. I love spring but it doesn’t always love me!!!
Hope you get over your sinus infection quickly Charlotte but I am glad you and Ron are settling into this new phase of your life..

Oh spring for you. Must be exciting to see those lovely flowers. Sorry about the pollen. Affects me as well in May, here.
How is your newest pup doing? Your older one adjusting? Hope so. How have the room additions worked out for the grands?
      Take care.
