American Girl Molly is thrilled to be up next!

I had someone ask me this morning if Ten Ping’s dress fit the 8″ Vogue Ginny dolls… so I found her in my tubs of things to sell, and tried it on her. It actually fits her fine…probably is a little long, but she has kind of rubbery like skin so it had to be sort of “wiggled” on her. I didn’t try the pantalettes and thigh highs on her…but the shoes worked…

Just wanted to share the picture of her in the set…

Remember this sweet blue capelet I was going to use for Felicity, but changed my mind?

Well, I decided to give it another go and use it with an Easter dress for Molly.

I redid the flowers on the front to match the floral print of the dress almost perfectly!!

The flowers match the fabric great, don’t they? Molly is the most excited girl on my dolly shelf! :o)

I used up the very last of this fabric that I’ve had for years. I had it in pink, blue and yellow… I still have the yellow with the blue flowers. It has been a real favorite of mine and I’m sad to see the blue background print go.

The dress I’m making for Molly has a gored skirt and the bodice has a sweetheart neckline. I only have the neckline finished and the skirt panels sewn together. It’s just pinned on Molly right now.

Since the capelet is done now, and the hard parts of the dress done… it should move along pretty quickly. There are sleeves for the dress and it will be hemmed shorter.

It’s a 1940’s pattern by Bunny Bear.

Tomorrow it’s supposed to warm up to 44 degrees! Bring it on!!! It feels like 11 out there right now!

I hope you have a great weekend… I’ll try to get more done on Molly’s dress set and surprise you Monday!

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Ginny looks just as cute as can be in TenPing’s outfit! I seem to remember you did that once before–showed a TenPing dress on your Ginny doll. Nice to know they are close enough in size to do that.

And….TWO bids on each outfit, last I looked!! Hooray!!

Oh, I do love what you did with that capelet for Molly–the flowers are just perfect with the print you’ve chosen for the dress. I remember wearing princess-style dresses when I was young–I always loved the way the skirts flared out from the waist. This looks like it’s going to be another winner, Jeanne!!

Thanks everyone for comments on my pictures yesterday; I did answer each one!

That’s great that Ten Ping’s little outfit also fits Vogue Ginny’s! So many of us have at least one in their collection, and might think THEIR Ginny needs another dress!

Well, doesn’t Molly look adorable and so very grown up in her new outfit? I remember being around 10 or so and thought those gored dresses made me look so grown up! Once you get the sleeves put on, (piffed?) it will look very 40’s!

As far as the cape, the flowers you re-did really mimic the flowers on the dress! Won’t this be darling with a little Easter basket?

  3. Molly’s outfit is coming along nicely. I’m still not a fan of the white ties. The flowers look lovely. Maybe a charm bracelet? I remember them as a thing.

From what I understand, the Ginny that Jeanne has, a reproduction, is not quite the same size as the original Ginny’s. But, the outfit looks very cute on her girl. 🙂
Molly’s floral will be so sweet for a summer garden party or barbecue. Maybe a big straw floppy hat to keep off the sun and a cute pair of sandals to match.
Glad to hear those in cold zones are warming up. That ice must have been miserable.
Looks like we’re in for more needed rain today. 🙂

Joy, I have an original Vogue Ginny from the 1950’s. She is made of very hard plastic, so it probably would be easier to dress her with the smoother skin, I don’t see much variation in the size of the original and reproduction dolls.

The outfit looks darling on your Ginny. It will also fit the Heartstring dolls and their new edition called Little Charmings. Your Ginny must be a “modern” Ginny. I have both a modern and a “vintage” and the skin on my modern Ginny drives me nuts. Dressing her is a struggle. My vintage Ginny has the harder skin and dressing her is very easy but she is a little more round than the modern Ginny. My vintage Ginny is exactly like the Ginny I had back in the 1950s.

I have an outfit for my Lolla that you did in the pink flowered fabric. It is really beautiful fabric in all colors. Molly’s outfit is going to be lovely and very Spring/Easter like. I’m glad you found a use for the cape and I love how you mimicked the flowers on the dress. Perfect! Easter is in very early April and judging from everyone’s weather this year I feel she is going to need it. We are actually warming up some ourselves. Our high yesterday was in the 40s rather than the 30s and we saw the sun for the first time in a week. Not a cloud in the sky. When we went out at lunch we were still under a cloud cover. When we came out about 45 minutes later it had totally cleared up and was beautiful.

I missed commenting yesterday but definitely had to tell Charlotte what a beautiful great-grandson she has. And what a lovely sweatshirt jacket. I have patterns for those but haven’t got around to making one yet. Mostly because I seem to always run across a deterrent to my creative endeavors. Unfortunately some of my deterrent comes from needing better lighting (that’s on the way) and a weak back which I’m hoping to remedy some if my hubby finally gets our rowing machine set up and usable. I learned that rowing is the perfect allover exercise. Hoping to soon discover if that is true.

Thank you, Barbara! If you look thru yesterday’s comments, my reply to Kathie’s comment contains the information on the pattern I used. Do you have that one, too? It’s really a fun one to make up. I’ve done it five times now!

  6. Well isn’t Molly the lucky one! Two dresses last year and up again already. I think a real bit of favoritism is shown to her. LOL
The capelet is very cute. I love the sweetheart neckline and gored skirt. I had a few dresses and and skirts with those features in the 1980’s so the style is far reaching. The green satin dress I wore to 1986 President’s Ball in college had both of those as well.

  7. You are on a roll for sure.. using the cspelet with the last 😳🥲 of your blue floral is awesome. So now to see what else you invent for her🤗
