Okay, who guessed Violette was getting new shoes?

If you did, you were right, but that was all I got accomplished for her today… I WAS BUSY! My daughter, Rebecca has a birthday coming up in a about a week and since she’s in PA (boo hoo) and I’m here, I’m trying to make a special box to send her. I had to pick up a few things today for her.

Next I had a 4 person conference call about a special birthday party a friend of ours is having. We’re talking long distance planning and getting ideas from each other. That took some time… Then I had found a nice chair on Facebook Market Place and I had to pick that up… fortunately the seller’s son was having a football game in a town south of us and she offered to bring the chair to my town and meet at McDonald’s to see if I truly wanted it… I did, wanna see it? $30 bucks! Woohoo…

Then we were invited to dinner by the girls who have been temporarily staying in the International house that my hubby and I painted and worked on. It was a nice dinner and we had a really sweet time… The mom of one of the girls is visiting from Peru and she doesn’t speak English, and I’m not very proficient at Spanish, so there were some charades going on with most conversations. The food was wonderful… the mom cooked, and another of the girls made brownies! YUMMY! :o)

My hubby wanted to show me a few things he’s been working on at the house where the girls normally live, and that took till 10:30… there is an area in the bathroom where the electricians made a hole bigger for one of the outlets and my hubby wanted to know if I could mix up some paint to possibly fill in the 1/2″ by 4″ piece on the wall at the bottom of the outlet. (He couldn’t find any paint cans in the basement with that color) Fortunately, it’s in a place where it’s not seen too much. So at 11:00, I was mixing up paint from some samples I had in the basement, trying to remember about what color this wall was. Who knows if I got it right, but I found 2 tiny little jars and put 2 different “batches” of paint color in them for him to try tomorrow. I hope one of them is close.

Then a guy from church just started a new job and he asked me if I could possibly cut his hair tomorrow morning… Oh dear… I think I’m going to have to start saying no sometimes… but this once I’m going to help him out. He has long hair, way past his shoulders, and I’m not sure what I’ll get into, but I’ll at least try… and hair grows back! :o) So anyway, I had to gather up all my hair cutting stuff, and get that together…

If you’ve been wondering why I haven’t been answering comments lately, this is the way my life has been for quite a while now…

Then, finally at 11:30 I was able to get in my sewing room and finish up the shoes I had started for Violette. I wasn’t sure what kind I wanted to make her, and wasn’t feeling boots this time, so I tried my hand at a loafer. I guess that’s what I’ll call them… they have that little fringe on them like golf shoes… I hope they are an okay style…

I didn’t get any socks made yet, but they’ll look better when I do. My leather was a little soft so they aren’t as stiff as I would have liked them to be… Oh well… it was my first attempt, so I’ll know next time to use a thicker leather.

Oh, and one more thing, the other day, Violette told me to pick up something “sweet” for the winner… Found it! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Wow, you really Did have a busy day yesterday! And, yes, this seems to be happening more and more. (And, YES, you do need to learn to say NO [or at least, “not now, but maybe next week”] more often–to something!! It’s called budgeting your time and setting priorities. This from the one who keeps on taking on more and more “jobs” at church…๐Ÿ™„)

That chair is lovely, and a real steal at the price! Looks comfy, too! I’m glad you didn’t have to make a long trip to pick it up!

Those shoes are darling; can’t wait to see how they look with socks! Knee-highs? or anklets? or…??? I think you are right, they are called loafers. I’ve had loafers in the past; I think my last pair were penny loafers, back in the 70s.

That certainly looks like a yummy treat to go with Violette’s outfit! I love peanut butter and chocolate (Reece’s Cups, anyone?!)

Oh, Joy, try hiding the Halloween candy under some fabric! Or with the doll clothes! I don’t think Other Person will look there!!

Charlotte, love your hiding place ideas. For sure other person won’t come near either place. Ha ha! ๐Ÿ™‚

Another day lin the life of a very busy lady!! The Energizer Bunny sure would have trouble keeping up with you!

That must have been wonderful to not worry about having dinner made with all the other things going on in your life! So nice that others reward you with your kindness and expertise!

That chair was a steal! But then, knowing you, most everything you buy is a steal anyway! ๐Ÿ™‚

And cutting hair should be a cinch for you, since you do George’s hair, but then you said it was past shoulder length! That should be an experience for sure! Yes, you do need to schedule your time to do such things and give everyone notice!! Maybe hanging a shingle out in front with the hours you are available would help! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I figured shoes would be the next thing we would see, I was hoping that they would be shoes this time, not boots. and there they are! I think they would look darling with knee high socks!

The “new” chair fits very nicely in your home. Great purchase.
Should anyone else ever request something as personal as a hair cut, I suggest you whip out a couple of coupons for Great Clips and leave it at that. ๐Ÿ™‚
Mixing paint without a color sample nearby at 11:00 at night. Wow, Jeanne, the miracle worker. Now, I want to know if it was a close match. ๐Ÿ™‚
The shoes might work with the black pants since they wouldn’t really show much, but they do look a bit clunky with the skirt. I really don’t know what is in style right now for the younger set except white tennis/sport shoes. They seem to go with everything. ๐Ÿ™‚
Had an email this morning that my Ruby Red’s are underway, so sounds like delivery will be next week. Oh no, that is when James is set to arrive as well. My nightmare may come true that they all arrive at the same time. No where to hide. Ack!

Dear Joy, well this upcoming “adventure” is definitely not to be missed. I can’t wait to read all about it.

You may have to have an overdue book from the library that Other Person must return or maybe you just have to have some pistachio ice cream. Hmmm, I am sure you think of some diversion (laugh).

Thanks Dorothy. I will really have to dwell on this one. I can’t imagine a multitude of doll boxes, a give away, stacked up on the porch with other person staring down with “the look.” Ugh

Dear Jeanne, well I guess since you have a doll hair salon of sorts, you can have a people hair salon too.

You can add barbering to your long list of skills. You have definitely earned the moniker “Jeanne” Of All Trades!

  5. Yes, Jeanne of all trades defines your week.Rebecca will be getting a fun BD Party it sounds like๐Ÿ˜‰
Cutting hair is a talent all on its own! Next you will be changing oil and tires๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜‚
Shoes make another piece to this cute setโ€ฆmaybe some bulky knee highs would make shoes a bit snugger? That skirt is sooooo cute.
Enjoy this great fall weekend everyone๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿƒ
