I’m so sad and a little bit frustrated. I went outside and took some fun pictures of Navi with Timmy and was excited that I was going to be able to get the set listed Sunday evening… BUT… something happened and Ebay won’t accept my pictures. I use a photo hosting software and all my pictures are loaded into it and it’s all finished and looks so pretty and red and green and I was so excited because it looked so cute…and then nothing! I tried at least 20 times or more… Kristoffer was even here and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I did it the same way I’ve done for at least 2000 times and this time it said my files were corrupted and my pictures were invalid… So I tried loading any other pictures to see if there really was something wrong with these pictures and nothing would load into the Gallery pictures for Ebay. What good would it do me to list the set if there wasn’t a picture to catch your attention… so I guess I’ll show you some outside pictures and go to bed… I’ve been working on this for over 5 hours! UGH! I really don’t know what I’ll do when I wake up tomorrow because I’ve done everything I know to do… I even called Ebay to see if there were any other people who had issues with uploading their pictures… The guy just said, I’ll check and see and add your name to a list and if anything turns up I’ll let you know… I said, “That’s it….it’s just up to me to figure it out?” and he said, “yes.” Well, that’s no help…
Oh well, sorry for the rant… Here are a few cute pictures of Navi and Timmy outside… I’ll save the storyline for my listing… (IF) I ever get it figured out…

Oh, Jeanne, I’m so sorry about your computer woes! Sounds like it’s something on the ebay site rather than your problem. I wonder if maybe they were updating the system or something? I’ve had things happen where I’ve tried to get into a site (the one I remember most vividly was the “My chart” feature of the local clinic’s web site), and I tried and tried, and no matter what I did, I could Not get into that part of the web site. Then a day or two later, they sent out an email that they had been updating the site–at about the time I was trying to get in! So, hopefully that’s All it is at this point! It would sure be nice if they’d let you know ahead of time, or have something up that says “not currently available, check back in x hours…”
Just had a thought–did you try to upload them from someone else’s computer, to see if it happens there, too? I’d try that, if you could. Or, if you were trying to upload them from your phone, could you put them on to your computer and Then try to upload them? Just trying to think of some alternative ways you could do it.
But…your pictures of Navi are just darling! I can’t wait to read her story!!
Try cleaning the cache of whatever browser you use. Sometimes it does the trick for me. If you’ve never done it before it is easy. This is how you do it in Chrome: Click on the 3 white dots on the right top of Chrome. Scroll down to More Tools. Click on browsing data. A new small screen will appear. Only put a check mark in Cached images and files. On the drop down scroll down to All Time and click on that. Let it do its job and when it’s completed it will close that screen out.
I’m so sorry to hear about your computer troubles, Jeanne, but oh my, those pictures are just darling! I know you would like to get it listed as soon as possible, but maybe you can start on another doll outfit, and have two on EBay at once! This outfit will be cute no matter what time of the year!
So sorry for the frustration. Sandra’s fix sounds promising especially because many have posted that they have had problems with Chrome. Apparently, this photo thing has happened many times in the past. Just Google it. Several mentioned that if you have Bitdefender added, that it can block the uploading of files. Go to the Exclusion list and add the EBay URL. Sounds like it may be an Ebay thing that they may fix or a recent Chrome thing. Have you had any recent computer updates? Something in the update may also be the cause. 🙂
Love your photos with Navi and Timmy. If you can’t get on Ebay, maybe try just listing on the Meadow site with a set price and use Paypal. If it doesn’t sell, then when Ebay is fixed, you can sell it there. Just a thought.

I’m not sure about this, but you may want to review all the updates from eBay. I seem to remember seeing something about eBay no longer allowing the use of outside picture hosts. I don’t use an outside host so the information didn’t stick in my brain.
Occasionally I can’t get one or two pictures to work on my listings and I know how frustrating that can be. I can only imagine how frustrated you are.

This is wretched. We do depend on computers working properly and more often than is useful, something doesn’t work. At least now you have some ideas to try and one may work. You might also try calling Ebay again. Often one person knows what another doesn’t. It took me 5 hours and 3 calls to set up a PERA account password on Friday. Each of the three people used different techniques.

I’m so sorry to hear about your problems uploading your pictures to eBay. The first thing I did this morning was look to see if Navi’s outfit was on eBay and then I read about your problems. Hopefully it will clear up soon. We get so used to the ease of doing things through computers that when something doesn’t work it’s almost like a feeling of rejection. How dare it?!
The pictures are adorable and as someone said the outfit is not time specific so no pressure there. Hopefully today will allow you to post the auction. I can’t wait to read the story.
“To err is human, to really foul things up use a computer.” I can’t remember when I saw this, a very long time ago. I think it was when someone owed the power company 4c and because there were no cents any more they were unable to pay it so the computer kept billing them and in spite of many calls to the power company the computer sent the debt to the debt collectors! I hope you get the problem sorted it must be very frustrating. Currently I am unable to load any of my photos on to the computer from my phone and I don’t know why. I keep meaning to take it/them into Delta on a Friday there is an IT specialist there then who volunteers his time to help with any computer issues.
The photos are lovely anyway and the outfit is adorable. I just wish Navi looked as though she was enjoying wearing it! I just can’t warm to her I like my dolls to look happy.
I have almost finished the bags I was making. I hope to make more but they will be the same styles. I have photographed them (not cleverly like your photos Jeanne just on the ironing board in fact) so will send them to you today or tomorrow. I think they are cute especially the dog and cat.

I feel the same way about Navi and Nyssa, for that matter. I also like dolls to look happy. Nyssa seems to be always pouting and Navi looks sad and about to cry IMO. Well, maybe she is about to cry on having to give up a darling outfit and her turtle friend. LOL
So frustrating! I know there have been times in the past when I have lost things on my computer. the worst was when it lost six months of payroll, office bills, and taxes.
Luckily, I’ve always been a hard copy person and had it all recorded in a notebook. Plugging it all back in the computer was a pain in the neck though.
