“Spring Chic” for my Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll, Sara, is on Ebay…

Well, the auction for Chrissa and Julie’s outfit worked out wonderfully! (well at least for the winner.) I was flabbergasted and was just thrilled to get that first bid… let alone what it ended up at… I won’t tell you the winner unless she wants to disclose it, but the 8 pieces went for $80! Thanks to everyone who placed a bid and hoped for even just a short amount of time that this set might be theirs!

I had a crazy busy day from a dental appointment to mask making… I barely had time to eat anything… BUT… I did something important… I got Sara’s dress LISTED ON EBAY! Marilyn suggested the title and I liked it… so Spring Chic it is! I took my pictures last night so I had that out of the way… I uploaded them this morning before my dentist appointment and then I found a little wiggle room in the afternoon to get her set listed and scheduled to go on in the evening.

AND THEN… 11 minutes later, I GOT THE FIRST BID…and then 40 minutes later I got the second bid and 5 minutes after that I got a third bid… Whoopie! It’s always a bit scary to introduce a new doll to the playing field… you don’t know your audience and they don’t know you… well, some know me and I know some of them… so that helps.. but it’s still a bit intimidating… In fact, I asked my hubby what I should start the dress at… and he said, “why are you asking me?” I told him because his guess was as good as mine… So he said, “$55” and I obeyed! :o) Now he’s taking all the credit! :o)

Since I had no other time, I’ll just have to show you a few more pictures of Sara and give you the link to the auction… or you can click on the picture at the right side bar… Click HERE to see Sara’s set…

Thought you might like to see a dress I made back in 2010, for Janie, my 13″ Effner Little Darling. I think I had just gotten her because she is wearing the wig she came in… It was a bit on the ratty side… It’s the same print. My pictures are a bit on the dark side, but I think you can see them…

See you Saturday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats to whoever won the auction on all those mix and match pieces for Julie/Chrissa (or whoever…!)! You will have a lot of fun “playing” with them!

And congrats to Jeanne for having 3 bids on Sara’s dress already!! Do we sense a bidding war in the offing???

It was fun to see this fabric made up in a slightly different style, and on a different doll. I’m not sure if I was part of your blog yet in 2010, and I don’t remember seeing this one, if I was. But you know, I think I like Sara’s version a little better!

Bella’s nightgown is done except for the snaps; she’s begging me to “hurry”!! And Hanna is reminding me I haven’t even cut hers out yet!! Such demanding little girls!! LOL

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
Yes, this outfit might possibly dress up to 3 dolls if you just add one more top of your own… I was thrilled that it turned out the way it did in the end… with someone wanting it all… I’m sure they will enjoy dressing their dolls it all the different pieces.

I didn’t start my blog until 2014, but Janie’s dress was just one I made back then and sold on Ebay…

I’m really thrilled about Sara’s new dress being received so well too… I have gotten over 200 hits on it just since I posted it at 8:30 last night! :o)
Janie’s dress was cute but I might be partial to Sara’s too..

Yes, we want to see your girls night gowns when you get them finished… I should make nightgowns or slips to have my girls standing in, instead of standing on the dolly shelf naked… :o)
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Congratul;ations to you Jeanne on making a great sale of an outfit which started out so slowly, but surprisingly got better and better each day, and to the lucky person who won it! You certainly have a story to tell about that one, with your Rebecca saving the day!

That cute Spring Chic outfit is proving popular with everyone, and rightfully so! Sara just glows in this dress and I’m wondering how she will take to it when she has to take it off! You will have to explain that she will have many more pretty dresses to come, and to have a bit of patience, I guess ! LOL

    1. HI Linda,
Nobody is happier than I am to have sold that outfit! I thought it was just a bad mistake gone wrong… but yes, thanks to Rebecca, it was saved and now someone is very happy to take it off my hands…
Sara does glow in this new dress, doesn’t she? I think I got “this” one right, at least…I think I did! Seems like a lot of ladies are enjoying it… I do hate to take her out of it, but I guess
I’ll break the news to poor Sara about how things work around here… maybe she’ll still keep smiling even after “the talk!” :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Hi Linda,
I wrote you a reply yesterday, but I’ll cut and paste it here again. 🙂

An inside out French braid is just like a regular French braid except you take the strand and the extra hair UNDER instead of over, so it raised the braid up instead of being flat against your head. The “crown means you’re only doing it from ear to ear across your head rather than vertically down the back. I had a hairdo book I purchased, but now I’m sure there are You Tube videos showing how it’s done. I’ve also heard it referred to as a Dutch braid. It’s just a matter of holding it all in your hands. When my hair was longer I could do a French braid on myself.

  3. Congrats to the auction winner. All of those cute pieces will be so fun to mix and match.
It might be interesting to see photos of Sara next to some of your other girls (not Rebecca) 🙂 to show the size comparison. I’d like to see a Little Darling, Nyssa, a Meadow Dumpling, and an American Girl. Lots of people mix their dolls so I think that would be fun. It would show how they would look as little/big sisters and cousins. You know, a Dumpling sitting in someone’s lap etc. Maybe Nyssa babysitting? It is always a kick to see a dolly mix.
Still working on those cabinets? Need some inspirational photos. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I hope the winner has fun mixing and matching the pieces of Chrissa’s/Julie’s set! I think they will!
I will take some pictures of Sara next to the girls you mentioned and maybe a few more… I DO love her size and she was a dream to sew for.. Everyone needs one of these dolls! :o)

Yes, I’m still working on my cabinets and hope to get some pictures today of ones I have finished… I wanted to yesterday, but it was rainy and gloomy and too drab for pictures… Today it’s sun shiny outside and I just might get some pics! I’m thrilled with what I’ve gotten done so far…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I’m thrilled to say that I’m the winner of the auction! Kit will be a happy girl but not as happy as I am. I must tell readers that a very dear friend pitched in to help buy the birthday present to me from me for my birthday. What fun. Thanks for the memories and controversy that attach to this ensemble, Jeanne and Rebecca.

Sara certainly shines in this dress. The setting and accessories make for picture perfect presentation. Still think a book should be in the future! Hint, hint.

    1. HI Susette,
Well good! Now everyone knows who won this set that seemed to have everyone in a tizzy over how to fix it… My head WAS spinning on what to do, until my daughter stepped in and saved the day… She really did!
Susette was determined to get this set and we had fun chatting back and forth until midnight, when she finally won it and told me she was doing the Happy Dolly Dance…
Then, as Susette mentioned, a dear friend sent me some money via PayPal so Susette didn’t have to pay the full $80! I’m telling you, I have the BEST ladies on this blog!!

I can’t even figure out how to do patterns… let alone a book! But I’ll keep that on the back burner! I bet you went to bed with a smile on your face last night, didn’t you?
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Susette, congratulations! I will admit that I was in the bidding cue but I am so glad that you won. Happy Birthday. What a wonderful friend you have.

      1. HI Dorothy,
Maybe you can get the next one! I’ll have to try it again…but ONLY with the help of Rebecca from the git go! :o)
        Blessings, Jeanne

    3. Congratulations on your winning bid, Susette. Kit is going to love her new things. 🙂
And have a very Happy Birthday!

    4. Charlotte Trayer

Congratulations, Susette, on winning the mix and match outfit, and happy birthday! When is your birthday? Mine was last Thursday (the 28th) and….I turned 75! I remember when my Grandma turned 75, and I thought she was positively ancient! LOL

I bought myself Hanna (RRFF) as an early birthday present to me from me. She’s gorgeous!! I already had Bella. Bella’s nightgown is done now, and as soon as I get Hanna’s done, I’ll take pictures of the girls in them. I have also made nightgowns for most of my Little Darlings, except for Mariko (who got the footed sleeper I received as part of a swap a while back) and Pearl (who is still waiting). Looks like I’m not done sewing yet!!

  5. Congratulations , Susette on winning the mix and match. I’m sure Kit will love it! Happy Birthday and what a kind “birthday fairy” you have.
Sara’s dress is just charming. The little baby chicks were the perfect accessories. Those have graced every Easter basket I can remember.
Janie looked sweet in that dress, but Sara with her little smile, I like even better.
Busy day ahead, I’d better get going.

    1. HI Laura,
I think Sara just might edge out Janie in this one… of course my dark pictures of Janie don’t help one bit, but still I think Sara wins… except for the purse… it was one of my favorites!
My day has been another busy one too… I’m just now starting MY day… the rest for everyone else…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I hope you’ll do more blog auctions — maybe with an earlier end time. I didn’t win but I did enjoy waiting for the big moment.
Starberry Chic on Etsy has shoes and stockings for RRFF, for those who are hesitating to buy a RRFF because you don’t know where to find shoes. I didn’t see boots but I didn’t go through all the pages.
And now — my favorite question — Who’s up next?

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for the heads up about the shoes for the RRFF dolls… the shoes I have fit the dolls, but I can’t put any socks or thigh highs with them… too tight… so I’ll have to check out the site you mentioned… or turn to my own cobbler skills and see what I can come up with… If I can do shoes for Navi at less than 1″ long, surely I can do Sara’s shoes… :o)

      Who’s up next? I don’t know, but I’ll decide by Monday…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. Charlotte Trayer

Deb’s Adorables and Cottontail Doll Designs have shoes for RRFF, also. On the Deb’s ebay site, look for the ones that say they fit Kish Chrysallis. She has more styles than Cottontail, although the latter’s prices are better. I’ve ordered from Deb’s several times, so I can recommend her; Cottontail is new to me, but at the moment she has four styles in a wide variety of colors for these girls–tempting!!!

  7. What fun this AMG bidding was to watch and congratulations to Susette! It’s an amazing set she won. I especially loved the pink jacket.
Jeanne, you should do that type of auction once in awhile on your blog. It had plenty of interest.
It looks like Sara’s outfit is doing well too. It’s an absolutely beautiful set. It will also bring a great deal of interest in the RRFF dolls. You found Sara very nice to sew for.
Would love to see pictures of your completed cabinets and wonder who’s up next?!

    1. HI Paula,
I just might have to do more blog auctions… I think everyone enjoyed it… :o)

I am amazed at how well it is doing… for being the new kid on the block with these dolls, I’m thrilled with how I’ve been received…
I was going to take pictures of my cabinets today, but I worked at the Food Pantry and now it’s too dark in my kitchen without enough natural light… maybe I can get some pictures over the weekend and show them next week…
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, what fun this was! I echo Paula, please do it again at some point.

Only 9 days until Valentine’s Day!

    1. HI Dorothy,
Only 9 days till Valentine’s Day? I knew there was a reason I moved straight to Easter… Rebecca was right about this too… she said, “it’s too late to make a Valentine’s Day dress…” Glad I listened to her again…
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I think this dress could be a Valentine’s Day dress. It is so pretty. I could see a little cutie wearing it to a Valentine’s Day party. I love the fabric.

        1. HI Dorothy,
Yeah…who says Valentine’s Day dresses HAVE to be pink or red? :o)
          Blessings, Jeanne

  9. So glad you are having such a good week. Lucky Suzette ! All those pieces will be so fun to mix and match. Maybe if Suzette has more then one AG we could see a pic of them all dressed up?😉
Spring Chic is so appealing, sweet and gorgeous . No wonder it has so many bids
Can’t wait to see the cupboards…I’m sure you are in love with them😊
Good luck! Have a good weekend too

    1. HI Kathie,
I am having a good week… it makes up for when I was confused last week…but it all worked out in the end… Yay!
I’m sure Susette will take pictures when she gets them all dressed up! It will be fun to see what she does with them…
I’m glad you like Sara’s dress. She’s a great size to sew for…
I am in love with the cabinets I HAVE gotten painted, but there are still plenty more to go… But eventually I’ll get them finished…
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
