Poor, Poor Nora! Her doll dress is now listed on Ebay….

Everyone is happy in my sewing room… everyone except Nora! She has been wearing that dress and bonnet for THREE months! I couldn’t believe it had been that long, but I looked it up, and… yes, it had…May 2nd!

Nora gets the next dress

No wonder she thought it was hers. I’ve had intentions of getting it listed on Ebay and finally did! You can see the listing HERE or click on the picture at the right side bar… Molly isn’t going to be very happy either, when she sees she’s getting bumped to the number 2 slot on the side bar… :o)

Anyway, it had been so long since I listed something and used my photo hosting program, I had almost forgotten how… My hubby was out mowing grass with the riding mower, so I hurried as fast I could, and still managed to get dinner for us… whew!

Rebecca and I tried to think of a fitting name for this set, but we came up blank… so I just used an old standby… School Girl Charm… works for me in a pinch!

I hope you’ll enjoy these sneak peek pictures of the listing… then you can go back and see the Ebay listing…and maybe bid if you like! :o)

Thanks everyone,
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, poor Nora–she will have a shock when she finds out her outfit has sold! She’s been able to enjoy it for a long time.

You maybe could have called it “Roses for Nora” or something like that. But “School Girl Charm” works well, too.

Good luck with your auction!! Charlotte

    1. HI Charlotte,
Yes, I think Nora will be in shock when she learns her dress is sold… (hopefully it will) I’ll never hear the end of it, if it doesn’t!
I like Roses for Nora… I’ll have to save that… and it would work for any doll as well.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Jeanne, I second that “poor Nora” sentence Charlotte wrote! I can’t believe it was May since she has had that dress on! I actually thought that was sold and gone a long time ago! I didn’t realize you had made a Civil War dress and still had it, so I thought it was time for a new Civil War dress!

Well, all good things must come to an end, and Nora will soon find out. Poor girl! I will say that I love the background you made for her to stand by. It adds interest and gives the listing a bit of charm!

I’m loving this cooler weather, aren’t you?

    1. Hi Linda,
I think I had just finished it, when I was in full blown sewing room stuff… It got put on the back burner.. .or the back dolly shelf… :o)
I’m glad you liked my new background. I liked it too and will use it again… Somehow my lighting is different by just moving down that dresser a few inches. I don’t think I’m directly below the light and that somehow makes a difference…

I AM loving this weather. Wasn’t today gorgeous??
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Our doll muses discover pretty early on why they are mostly nudies or just sporting panties:)., Three months to get to wear an outfit… unheard of! LOL
It’s really sweet and I especially love the hat!
    Here’s to a winning auction!❤️

    1. Thank you Shara,
Yes, I think this might be a record for one of my dolls to be in a dress that long… I hope it doesn’t happen again! :o)
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Even though there will be no back to school here this year, Nora brings thoughts of simpler times to mind. Her dress and bonnet are lovely, and I’m sure she will receive many compliments. The background choice is wonderful and the lighting perfect.
Ended up cutting the tent poles shorter once again to make it look less doghouse like. Then, other person did not like the tent fabric. Wasn’t like his old tent. So, headed to Joann’s and with little choice, found something else. Today I have to decide if I really want the platform to remain because without it, the tent fabric would be too short. Such a dilemma. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
I decided today, even though the schools are all messed up and there might not be schools open all across the nation, I am STILL going to sew Back to School outfits! I’m sure ALL of my ladies are homeschooling their girls! :o)

Boy, you are really having a time getting your tent made, aren’t you? I hope your dolls LOVE it when it’s all done… and we want to see some pictures when you can…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. If only we had pictures of Joy’s tent, we could all send conflicting advice. Joy and I both need to learn to send pictures. Of course my best doll dresses have all been seen here, since Jeanne made them.
I was thinking of names for Nora’s dress, now that it’s too late — End of Summer, Summer Roses? That butterfly pin ought to inspire something. I’ve wanted one since the first time I saw one.
What about a name for Elizabeth’s dress — Regency Romance? Regency Autumn? Welcome, Fall? Regency Perfection? Autumn Grace? Elizabeth’s Choice? Fall Flowers? (Elizabeth might carry a small bouquet, especially if Jeanne could include a duplicate of one of the flowers on the bonnet.) Sunday Best?

    1. HI Marilyn,
I just told Joy we WANT to see some pictures… I hope she’s been taking some all along the way when making it… I can’t wait to see it.
I am writing down all those names for auctions… love them all… and could have used several…and just might for Elizabeth’s! Thanks for doing the thinking for me!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Well Nora will make it…she has been a nudie before. That is a lovely piece of fabric in her dress though….and the color is good on her with her dark hair.
I’m sure your thinking of what the next dress will be and for what doll☺️
This would normally be the County Fair but since everything is anything but normal it isn’t going to take place. I follow my nephews family in Kansas on Facebook and they had their fair. Their kids have jumped into every category available this year so they have been waving purple ribbons all over the place! Such a good way to learn a work ethic and have fun too!

    1. HI Kathie,
In my house…. once a nudie, always a nudie… Nora will probably never let the other girls forget how long she got to wear “her” dress!
They are still debating around here which fairs and carnivals will be allowed to happen. I think the Apple Festival MIGHT happen, but who really knows until it’s later in August…
I always liked going to the big fair in another town… they had the exhibition hall filled with all the sewing and knitting and cookies and vegetables and fruit displayed with the ribbons… it was my favorite part of the fair.
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I had completely forgotten about Nora’s ensemble. The the puppy she is holding is the cutest ever! Wondering where you found such a cute thing?

    1. HI Julia,
I took some pictures of Maggie and the box so you can see it tomorrow.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. I’m always sad when one of the girls is divested of her beautiful outfit. It’s almost as if it were mine. But there is always more to come down the road, so it’s something for Nora and the others to look forward to. Love the puppy. It looks just like what someone wearing that outfit would have for a pet.

As of now our County Fair is scheduled to go on. It is in mid-October. Our church festival is still scheduled too. It’s in early October. As for school, well the kids start virtually on 8/17 and are scheduled for in-person beginning the day after Labor Day. That was when we always started school in PA and I think most states do too. Our numbers here are going down (although you wouldn’t know it by listening to some news outlets) and we’re finding that most of the deaths that are listed as COVID are not, so maybe we’ll be opening up more soon. Our church is scheduled for in-person in early September. Right now it appears that our governor and company are hiding in a bunker somewhere. Haven’t seen them in awhile.

    1. HI Barbara,
Julia asked about the little puppy and I am showing some pictures of her tomorrow…

I think it’s a mess everywhere, Barbara… not sure what’s going to happen here… We live in a university town and some of the dorms and businesses just don’t know how to plan for the future and what will or won’t happen. Our governor is alive and well and likes to make public appearances to let us know the new rules he’s made for us to follow. :o(
Thanks Barbara… don’t get me started!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. May 2nd? Wow, Nora has been wearing that dress a long, long time. I think she holds the record. I have no doubt that she thought she was going to keep that one. Poor girl!
The dress is so sweet with the roses and dainty checked cuffs. I liked Charlotte’s title Roses for Nora”, maybe she can have another “rose” dress in the future. The bonnet is so pretty and really a timeless design. I’m curious as to the width and length, please? I’d love to try my hand at making one in the future to match a Civil War outfit. That’s is, if I ever, ever have time to attempt one.
I’m with Julia in that the puppy is absolutely the sweetest thing. She looks a lot like AG Coconut, only fluffier.

    1. HI Laura,
Yes, it was May 2nd…and yes, she thought it was hers to keep…

I wrote down Charlotte’s and Marilyn’s titles for future dresses… they were too good not to use sometime. I’ll get you the measurements for the bonnet… don’t let me forget…

I’ve got some pictures of Maggie to show everyone tomorrow… When I saw her at the Goodwill, I thought it WAS Coconut!
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, the dress is beautiful, whatever you call it.

I echo Julia and Laura, the little doggie is so sweet.

I am glad that the children are happy in your sewing room. I am sure they have been comforting Nora.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Nora still has the dress on so there is no comforting going on YET! I’ll let you know when it starts! :o)
The rest of the girls are all happy to be facing out and watching me do things… I like it much better too!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Poor Nora! I’m sure she will get a new dress soon. I don’t think I could leave my girls without clothes but I do have a granddaughter who loves the outfits so will keep them dressed in the clothes I have made for her (dolls). She can play with them when she comes over. I bought three more (all OG) this weekend although Sam actually got me to buy one of them for her. Between Ashley and I we now have 7 so think that will do for now!
I love the little dog just a perfect companion.

    1. Thank you Anne,
You’ll have to send us a picture of your group of girls… I’d love to see them and I know everyone else would too. I bet Sam and you will have some good times with those girls of yours! She’ll be designing things for you to make her doll. Do all your girls have names?
Thanks Anne, Hope things are going a little better for your family now…
      Blessings, Jeanne
