Missed it by “THAT” much!

That was a famous line Don Adams, on Get Smart, used to say. I’m borrowing it from him, because that’s what happened to me today. I’ll spare you all the details of my busy day, but I did get pictures taken of Emmie in her new blue dress and bonnet; just none outside as I would have liked. However I didn’t have enough time to crop them, edit them and get them on my auction… I missed it by “that” much… actually I missed the time to list it on Ebay at a decent ending time by about 2 hours. BUT… you’ll be happy to know that I’m sharing some of those pictures with you today, so you can see it. It’s the best I can do…

I’ve got lots of pictures I still have to sift through. I think I have 36 left and have deleted 40-some already. I guess you could say we had a good photo session.

This is a “group” shot of all the pieces included… I hope you like what you see…

So this is my plan for Friday… finish editing my pictures and get this dress listed on Ebay. I sure hope nothing comes up that makes me miss it by “that” much again! :o)

Now, I plan to read all your comments about the Botanical Gardens. :o)

Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a lovely outfit you’ve created, Jeanne! All the pieces go together so well, and Emie looks beautiful! I think my favorite picture is the second one, where she’s standing in front of the dressing table!! So cute!

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
I’m so glad I got it finished and now it’s listed… Yippee! I’m also glad everyone likes it! That’s the idea of my sewing…who wants to make dresses nobody likes? Not me!
Thanks for all your sweet comments.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Perfect, Jeanne! I love the picture of Emmie getting ready and the sleeping kitty underneath the mirror! Everything turned out just darling and the shot of all the pieces really gives you an idea of what is included. That is always good when selling on Ebay, I think.

That hat………..just perfect, and I think someone would buy the whole set just for the hat!!

Charlotte asked yesterday if the Mo. Botanical Garden has a website. Yes, it does, but I don’t think they sell anything online. I think Julia asked about her orchid not blooming, and on the website they have, right now, orchids featured, and what to do if your orchid is not blooming. It might help her out!

    1. HI Linda,
Thank you again for your Garden pictures. I know everyone enjoyed them. I sure did. I love to scrutinize the pictures and look closely at the details.
I’m glad you like this dress set. Me too… I’m pretty crazy about it actually! I think my phone is going to be my new best friend. I hope to get better as I keep trying.
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Jeanne! This is fabulous! The bonnet is so beautiful and really sets off the whole outfit.!
I agree with Linda.. it’s worth the whole price of your auction:)
The photos are perfect ! Kudos on a wonderful creation!

    1. Thank you Shara,
Coming from you, the perfectionist of all sewing, I really appreciate your compliments. I’m glad you like it. This time it won’t be Emmie not wanting to give it up, it will be me… Yikes.
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Oh, I do like the photos. The lovely layout of the little misses wardrobe is great, and my favorite is the one of the closeup of the side view of the bonnet with Emmie’s front view in the dresser mirror. Such creativity. Including the back view of the dress is so important for me. If it is a mess, and doesn’t meet properly, I would pass.
Pixie Faire has a free pattern for a little felt doll today. Some of my girls took a look and called out “mine”. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I actually saw something in my email from Pixie Fair for some free patterns… maybe I should take a look again… I like that picture of her looking in the mirror too.. in fact I used it again today… just in case anyone missed it yesterday! :o)
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Absolutely sweet and so precious! The bonnet tops off her beautiful dress. Just a nice breath of spring!!

    1. HI Paula,
Thank you for your sweet compliments on Emmie’s dress set this time. It took me almost 5 hours to get this thing listed, though. I had no idea how to get the pictures from my phone to my computer… I have a program on my desktop that I use for my listings and I didn’t know how to get the pictures there. I called Kristoffer and he said to plug my phone in and something should come up asking me where I’d like to send the pictures too… well, me being the “not so techy person” on the computer, 2 hours later, I finally figured it out. Hopefully, the next time, it will go much faster.
Anyway, speaking of a breath of Spring.. I feel like I might be turning the corner on things around here… paperwork wise… I mean.
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings to you,
      Jeanne

  6. Love this outfit. The blue and white is just perfect for Easter. The picture that shows off the whole set together is so sweet. I agree with Joy, that the one of the side of the bonnet and Emmie’s face reflected in the mirror is a lovely photo. The bonnet is just adorable. The little dressing table is a perfect prop to show it off. The little kitty sleeping underneath is precious. My antique bedroom suite has a dressing table ( different because it has painted flowers on it), but my first female kitty likes to sit on it and admire herself in the mirror. She even turns from side to side to see herself. It’s so cute to watch. =^-^=
I would love to get a dressing table for my dolls. What a great display piece. Molly’s is too modern for my dolls and I don’t care for MG’s.
I know you don’t “collect” (clothing, accessories) as most of us do for a particular doll(s), but you have some of the loveliest props to use in your auctions. I think it would be fun for you to share a post of all your props, especially since you have some in different sizes for small and larger dolls.

    1. HI Laura,
Thanks for the idea about the props… I have been blessed with lots of props and it seems when I’m out, my eyes are always drawn to things I can use with my girls… something miniature most always will work for one of my girls sizes.

I bet it’s a wonderful sight to see your kitty up on your dresser looking at herself in the mirror. How sweet! I think I found that dresser on Ebay one time, and I’ve loved it ever since buying it.
      Thanks for your kind words.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, Emmie is absolutely adorable in that outfit!

If there was a beauty contest for dolls, she would win!

I echo Laura. I would love to see your props.

    1. Thank you Dorothy,
I think Emmie might win first place too! She does look awfully sweet in this blue set and I’m SO happy I changed her to the blonde wig instead of using that think sausage curled wig. I might need to refigure that one somehow…
      I just wrote it down… “Props for a post” on a note, so I won’t forget… :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. It is just as pretty as I knew it would be. The whole ensemble is a great picture too. The pic in front of the mirror with the hat on the dresser is a winner. That blue is such a pretty shade…what do you call that shade of blue?
Good luck with your listing…poor Emmie won’t be happy but the new owner will for sure!

    1. Thank you Kathie,
I’m glad you like this set… The color of the straw I used for this hat is called Sky Blue… perfect name, don’t you think?
Yes, Emmie will be sad and I think I will just a little bit too… this one really is adorable in person. I truly enjoyed making this one…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. What a beautiful outfit. The dressing table is a favorite, the kitty and the matching 🐻 bear. The lighting looks great. Did you edit it? Curious. I think that may be Easter 🐣 Egg Blue.

    1. Thanks so much Susette,
I’ve been using my phone and it’s getting easier to figure it out the more I do it. Yes, I edited my photos using the saturation and the exposure bars… Bob also told me to use a tripod or set my camera on something to steady it… I think that has made a big difference too.
I just looked up the color of the straw I used for the bonnet and it’s called Sky Blue… great color, isn’t it?

My biggest trial today was tying to figure out how to get my pictures from my phone to my computer. I have a computer program on my desktop that I use for my Ebay listings and I had no idea how to get my pictures there. I called Kristoffer and her said plug my phone into the tower and it will tell me where I want them uploaded to. Well, I didn’t have a clue how to do that, and it took me 2 hours to figure it out… Finally I got it! It only took me 5 hours to do the whole thing. I hope this goes for about $500… maybe I’ll make some money on it! :o) Just kidding…
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne
