Day 2: Pick your favorite Doll Dress for 2019…

*Just a quick note to Paula… you can vote for a dress from yesterday and one from today… everyone will actually be picking 2 dresses…one for each day. Please let me know which one from Friday you liked best.*

ALSO, I decided to keep it a mystery which dress was the most favorite from yesterday… and will show it along with today’s favorite. You’ll see the favorite’s tomorrow (Sunday) and can vote on your FAVORITE DRESS FOR 2019!

There was a little bit of a mix up (by “yours truly”) and I corrected it yesterday. I had asked you to vote for one dress from the doll dresses shown yesterday (Friday) and then I said I’d show the rest of them on Saturday (today) so you could vote for one of those dresses. Then I said I’d announce the winner on Sunday. Well, if everyone picked a dress on Friday and then another one on Saturday, there would be TWO dresses that were in the top spot. (Paula was the one that made me realize I had goofed in my wording.)

So… if you didn’t vote for a dress yesterday, go ahead and look through them and pick a winner and I’ll go back and see who added votes. Then pick a favorite dress today and I’ll show the top TWO winners Tomorrow… Sunday. You will have to pick ONE of the two dresses as your favorite. (I don’t know how anything so simple could have turned out to be so complicated!)

So vote yesterday (if you missed that post, you can see it HERE.) and then vote for a favorite dress for today!

Let’s get started on the rest of the dresses I made in 2019. Keep an eye out for your favorite in this group! :o)

We are seeing dresses from July at the start here… starting off with one for Molly called “Patriotic Pride.”

Next up is Samantha in “Star Spangled Samantha.”

Nellie is wearing her version of Patriotic wear…I don’t remember the name of this set…

“Angelic in Aqua” was modeled by Caroline and Rebecca.

“Play Time” was a 12 piece set worn by my Effner Little Darlings AND Betsy!

Navi graced us with a “Christmas in July” dress set.

Kirsten got another dress, in blue of course… called “Swedish Sweetheart.”

My Effner girls had a fun time in this “Minnie and Me” 12 piece play set…

Eden showed off her grown up side as the School Marm in this blue and white Back to School set.

Lian was next in a dress set called “Preview in Blue.”

Addy and Caroline showed us a pretty orange and black Civil War dress called “Autumn Elegance.”

Bailey was next with “Fall is in the Air.”

Kirsten shows us “Charming in Blue.”

Navi showed off her Fall coloring very well with “Festive for Fall.”

Noel received the first Christmas dress of the year…This was “Christmas Sparkles.”

Here’s Molly in “Waiting for Christmas.”

We’re almost out of dresses…2 more…

This is Patsy in “Golden Touch.” Bailey also modeled it.

And the last dress of 2019 was “Vintage Velvet.”

So there you have it… ALL the sewing I did for 2019… well, I actually did more… but this was most of the dolly things.. I did make slips and things, but these were the “sets.”

So look these pictures over and pick your favorite from this group and let us know in the comments below or by using the “Contact Me” tab just under my banner. I’ll tally up the votes for each dress and let you know tomorrow what 2 dresses were the highest vote getters. (the one from Friday and the one from today.) Then I’ll put those 2 pictures on Sunday’s post and you can vote “again” for the Number One Dress of 2019!

Thanks everyone… I’ve enjoyed dressing your dolls this year and hope to keep it up next year! From my littlest girl, Navi, to my oldest doll, Elizabeth… we wish you all the very best this next new year.

Blessings, Jeanne

Ooh, this was a tough one! I really liked “Minnie and Me”, “School Marm” and “Autumn Elegance”, but I think my favorite is Kirsten in “Swedish Sweetheart”. Those fabrics just came together so well–they “sing”!!

Ron is home–he was discharged about noon today. He wanted to run some errands (barbershop and bank, primarily) so we did that and had lunch out, too. Tonight, though, he was really exhausted, and went to bed early. His incision isn’t painful, but when he moves his left arm certain ways, that area does hurt. I’m not sure if he’ll make it to church on Sunday–he can’t drive for about a week, so he’d have to go with me to Sunday School (I teach a class), or I’d have to stay home from SS and just take him to church. I’ve told the pastor I might not make it to SS this weekend. My class is very small, and old enough to sit in on the adult class, so we’ll see.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind comments. They are much appreciated by both of us!!

  2. Angelic in Aqua is my pick! That hat is amazing! Question for you, Which outfit was the hardest and took the most time? Have a good day! Enjoy family!

  3. My fav is Molly “Waiting for Christmas”…. I am crazy for plaid.

Just saying that I also liked the 12 piece Play Time Set. I loved the fabric, colors and choice of pattern for each one.

  4. Time for just a few words here, but I too, like Molly in Waiting for Christmas! This is close to impossible to make any kind of decision, Jeanne!

Have company coming soon, so I had better go!

  5. Well, I choose Molly Waiting for Christmas, but there were some from yesterday that I also liked even though I don’t think my first choice was a winner. Just to throw a monkey into the wrench. I guess what I’m saying is I would have liked to have seen them all and then picked the top two 🙂
Great news for Charlotte and husband. Hope he takes it a bit easy though. 🙂
That new year is fast approaching. Need to get busy.

  6. Hi Jeanne,

My choice today is “Charming in Blue”. They’re all so very lovely, it’s hard to choose a favorite!

    Blessings to you!

  7. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, wow it was harder to choose today. I finally settled on Eden in Back To School. I think all of the dresses/outfits are award winning.

After you announce the blog family winning outfit tomorrow, will you tell which outfit you would pick as your favorite? I bet it’s just as hard for you as it is for us because any dolly would love to have one of the beautiful outfits.

I am already anticipating the dolly outfits you will make in 2020. Maybe sometime next year there can be a parade of the lucky dollies in their outfits if their Mamas send you photos. That would be fun to see.

  8. I’m sorry, it was I who misunderstood. Now I get it.

Yesterday, although difficult to choose, “Addy’s dress, Cookies from Addy”. ( Felicity’s Colonial Charm and Valentine Surprise.) oops… couldn’t resist mentioning the other two.)
    Today, most definitely “Autumn Elegance.”
It’ll be fun seeing the results!

  9. That was really hard… but I kept coming back to Molly in waiting for Christmas. It is just such a great example of your “look”. So classic and perfect.
Now I’ll go back and read to see what the others have chosen? Fun , fun!

  10. I think my favorite dress for today is Molly’s “Waiting for Christmas”. I love the fabric and it reminds me of dresses I wore as a little girl.

Your comment about enjoying dressing our dolls this year got a chuckle from me. Gracie has the set you can’t remember the name of (me neither at the moment); Claire, Fallon, Cleo and Brenna took advantage of the mix and match “Minnie and Me”; and Lissy/Sofie/Lolla has “Golden Touch”. Lissy will probably become the sole owner of the dress. It looks so lovely on her and goes great with her coloring. She will be in the photo shoot so you will get to see her wearing it. Buying that one was to get me off the hook so I didn’t have to make one more Christmas dress. The girls are enjoying them all.

The pattern you used for “Playtime”, did that fit Betsy well? It is such a cute pattern but I don’t want to have to make a lot of adjustments. That’s me being a lazy seamstress.

Hoping to do a photo shoot this afternoon. The girls who will be participating are chomping at the bit to get started. I told them after lunch.

I almost forgot to tell you about my surprise Christmas gift. Actually it was kind of a misunderstanding. David got me the JoAnn’s gift card and my Ninja pressure cooker/crisper and I thought that was plenty for both Christmas and my birthday, but he told me last night that my big Christmas gift hadn’t arrived yet. I asked what it was. He said didn’t your order another Little Darling doll. I hadn’t but this was too good to be true. I just got permission to order another doll and I didn’t even have to think about how to present the idea or how I was going to smuggle her in. I have been wanting to get an articulated LD but they are more expensive and not easily available or a Judy Porter doll. So I told him I was playing the waiting game trying to figure out exactly what to get. I think in the meantime, while I’m trying to make up my mind, I’ll go ahead and order another Fashion Friend. Can’t let a good opportunity go to waste.

  11. Hi Jeanne,
It was another difficult decision but I chose Kirsten in “Charming in Blue” love the hat!
    Hugs
    Ingrid

  12. More lovelies! Addie in “Autumn Elegance” is stunning but so is Molly in “Waiting for Christmas. I choose “Waiting for Christmas” as my favorite in this batch.

  13. Love “Charming in Blue” , especially the bonnet, but will have to go with “Autumn Elegance” as my choice. Addy wins both days in my book.

  14. I love Navi in Funshine and Roses and Addy, too, in Cookies from Addy, so those two are my picks for the year 2019!!

I hope Ron takes it easy these next healing days Charlotte. He’s got a LOT to get used to with the changed beating of his heart. He will adjust and then things will work out better and hopefully, for the rest of his life. You need to rest, too, dear lady. Caretakers can go through the ringer and wear themselves out easily. I hope you both get the healing rest you need now that the worst is over.

I can’t wait until you get back to sewing again dear Jeanne. May 2020 bring you perfect and fast healing and lots of energy for your busy days!!

    Love and Big Hugs,
    Ali C.

    1. Charlotte Trayer

Thank you, Ali. I’ve been kind of surprised at how tired I’ve felt the last couple of days–two naps yesterday and one today! I have finally learned to listen to my body (most of the time, anyway! LOL) when I get tired, and not push too hard.

  15. Vintage Velvet is my favorite for today. It’s similar to something I remember wearing when I was about 10.
