Navi is sporting some Kitty Ears…

I’ll have to look at this again tomorrow and decide if it’s as cute as I think it is…right now it’s after midnight and I just finished these kitty ears on a headband for Navi. I can’t help smiling, but I’m not sure what “you’ll” think! Are they too big? Do they need to be smaller? I think the one on the left needs to be scrunched up just a tiny bit more at the bottom… it seems just a bit wider than the other one.

I may make a hair bow to go with this just for those who like them better.

As you can see, I took the skirt off and actually made a whole new one.

Here was the skirt yesterday…

…and here it is now…

I shortened it just about a quarter of an inch in length and took about 6 inches off the width. It’s not so overwhelming on Navi. I’m still going to make a little slip for underneath…and a few other things…but I’m getting there.

We switched up wigs too…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

The kitty ears are adorable, and I think agree with your assessment as to the unevenness in size. I would probably go a bit smaller, too, but even at the size they are, they are just so cute!!

I think the new skirt is a better balance for her size, too–although I still would have liked to have seen a full petticoat added, so Navi could have gone to the square dance!! Maybe for another outfit you can do that. Rickrack can make a skirt kind of stick out anyway, so perhaps another time you can do the skirt without that particular kind of trim, and it will look softer.

April Eleanor is happy because I have started on her nurse’s uniform for her Halloween costume!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad you liked Navi’s kitty ears. I haven’t gotten in my sewing room yet to “evaluate” them again…tonight we are celebrating Rebecca’s (today) and Kristoffer’s (Tuesday) birthday.
She’s still going to get that teeny tiny slip and a bow and some thigh highs…
I bet April Eleanor is SO excited!!

  2. That extra row of rickrack in blue really brings out the color of Navi’s eyes. I like the new skirt length as well. And what cute little ears you have my dear. She’ll be the hit of the Halloween party.
Looking forward to seeing Navi’s final photos in this cute outfit.

    1. Thanks Joy,
Those tiny legs are too cute to cover up…
Glad you liked her new ears too!!
I’ll get the set done as soon as I can.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. My first reaction to the ears. I LOVED them!! They are even cuter than I imagined. I didn’t even notice the unevenness. Her skirt is perfect now and I really like the extra row of rick rack. Adding a bow to the package is a good idea and will look cute too. Thigh highs? I’m just concerned that her little legs might get cold in the lower temperatures. I thought it was the same wig only braided. I like the braided wig with the kitty ears.

I’m working on a fall outfit for Rahel right now. When it’s finished some of the girls want to do a photo shoot of them raking and playing in the leaves. Maybe they’ll let me play too. I need a fall experience.

    1. Hi Barbara,
Oh, good…it seems Navi will be keeping her kitty ears headband!!!
Our girls certainly keep us hopping, don’t they? I bet Rachel is ready to use that new rake.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
I’m glad you like the kitty ears too. Yes, those little legs need to be covered up!!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Good afternoon, Jeanne! We just got home from Branson, and saw pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!! I’ll get my pictures ready and send some.

Maybe you need a little pumpkin for Navi to stand by! And stockings, yes, but what would be cute would be some colored tights! Yellow? Orange?

She looks cute in the ears! I was thinking they may be a bit big, but that’s totally up to you. AG has a headband in the Mix and Match collection with kitten ears, and they are very tiny. I was thinking she looked like a little mouse, but of course, mouse ears are more rounded.

I like the new skirt better, with less fullness ,and another row of rickrack. It gets cuter by the day! Can’t wait to see what the finished outfit looks like! What a cutie she is!

    1. Hi Linda,
Welcome back! I bet things were beautiful down by Branson. Yes, send me some pictures of what you saw.
I need to see if I have some thin knit to make her some thigh highs where her shoes will just slide on.
I might try another set of ears…this was my first attempt…
I like her skirt better too…now to get that slip finished…and a bow.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. How adorable, Jeanne! I like the shorter length much better and the ears are too cute, also. They are big, and where Linda thought of a mouse, I thought of a rat, LOL. I’d make the ears half that size, for a kitty. Or make them rounded for mouse ears. : ) She definitely needs the foot and leg covering. It’s coming along just adorably!! I love my Navi and any Twinkle would love to wear this! Love and Hugs, Ali

    1. Thank you Ali,
I’m glad you are liking this fun set…I might try a smaller set of ears and get a second opinion…
I showed it to MY Rebecca and she even smiled at it!
      Thanks Ali
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. The kitty ears are cute. My re-wigged Nellie is also becoming my “kitty” girl. I want to make her a black cat outfit at some point with an ears hairband. I pierced her ears myself with a thumbtack so the hole is very subtle. She’s sporting a pair of human gold cat faces with black eyes that I found in a set from Walmart a few years ago.
I like the extra row of rickrack. I also think a pair of tights would be nice. I’ll vote for green to pick up the dress background. Navi does need a little pumpkin to sit on. Can’t wait to see Linda’s pumpkin pictures.
Happy birthday to your October babies

    1. Thank you Laura,
I have seen some really cute kitty ears on the dolls…and a few little girls too!
Ss soon as you said green tights, I just remembered I had some stretchy fabric…I’ll have to see if it’s the right shade of lime…

I’m anxious to get all these pieces finished and have s fun photo shoot.
      Thanks Laura
      Blessings, Jeanne
