Calling All Meadow Doll Dumplings…

PLEASE NOTE: Addy’s Civil War dress set ends this evening. If you want to see it, you can click on the picture at the right side bar… or you can click HERE. I hate to see this one go… Addy has looked so beautiful standing on my cutting table these last few days… but I’m sure the new winner will enjoy it as much as I have…

There’s a NEW picture at the right side bar too… did you see it? It’s Bailey and yes, she’s back in that long wig again. Somehow when we got the dress set all completed, she wanted to try the long wig on one more time and we both decided to go with the long wig after all. Someone said she liked little girls in long hair… I think it was Dorothy…anyway, I think that’s what changed my mind… silly reason, but I hope you’ll think she looks adorable in it instead of the bob… we’ll do it another time.

I set up my birdbath, with my Styrofoam layers on top of that, and then my “fake” grass on top of that. It was kind of windy so I had to use some shish kabob sticks to hold the ends from blowing up… I took a picture of my set up in the yard…

Then I’ll show you a few pictures of the dress set here… but there are lots more pictures in the listing…

I made a pair of sweet little pantalettes trimmed in the same lace.

The lace was accented with some flowers done in floss.

We decided to make a hair bow instead of a hat this time.

This is Jillie… the bear Bailey found in the Dolly Toy Box…

I hope you like this one… it’s perfect, because “Fall IS in the air!”

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Bailey is just adorable in that outfit, with that particular wig, and the hair bow! Makes me wish I had a Bailey, too…with that particular wig!! I love the embellishments on the lace, too. Very nice.

And sitting there, so primly on the bench, she looks like a sweet little girl on her way to Sunday School. LOVE!!!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
EVERYONE needs a Bailey!! She really is the sweetest little thing!!

Thanks for your kind comments Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh my gosh, Jeanne, Bailey is the sweetest looking little doll sitting there with that big smile! It makes me want a Bailey for myself!

You were right, as usual, to put her in the longer wig. While I did like the pixie cut, this one is just perfect for the dress, and since she is wearing pantalettes, would work better for an old fashioned outfit. The pixie cut is more for the modern dresses, I think.

Love the embroidery down the lace front, and the hair bow gives it the perfect touch without being too fussy! Loved the set up in the yard! Looks like leaves are falling there too like here. Like you, I’m ready for cooler weather, this 93 degree heat is crazy!

    1. Hi Linda,
You would love Bailey!! I’m SO glad I ordered her!!! She really is fun!!
Yes, the leaves are blowing around like crazy here…its not time to rake them yet, but it probably won’t be long.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Jeanne I love your work and visit your blog daily. You are so talented and fearless with your dolls. I have a question for you– how do you remove color from a dolls lips? I am looking at a Kristen doll on ebay but I think her lips are too glossy. Can I remove it and redo it? I appreciate the help. Carole

    1. Hi Carole,
I use some stuff from Hobby Lobby. The remover I use is called Winsor and Newton Brush Cleaner and Restorer. Just use a tiny dab on a paper towel or a q-tip or a fine brush. You might want to tape off any areas around the mouth. This stuff will take off anything in its way if it runs. You don’t want it to get in the way of your blush or any freckles… (ask me how I know…) just barely have any on your cloth before wiping…

      Winsor and Newton
Thank you for all your kind compliments!

      Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, I love the dress! I know I said I liked it without any touches but I do love the buttons. and the extra trim. Bailey looks so sweet. I just want to say, “come on, Sweetie, let’s go get an ice cream cone or maybe a hot chocolate and show off your new dress.” (laugh)

Thanks for the behind the scenes photo. I always like to see how to set up shots as I am still learning how to best photograph my dolls.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
I’m so glad you like the dress “embellished!” I thought it needed a little “something” extra.

I had a picture of Bailey sitting on the holly bush…I forgot to show it though. I might have to show it anyway.
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Your expertise in setting up and taking pictures is just amazing! I thought the very first picture of your setup was cute with Bailey just laying on the bench looking at the clouds, lol. Then to see the finished pics is Perfect for sure. Great dress, doll, wig and everything, just absolutely perfect! You are incredible on how you get so much done. I envy you!

    Sandra C.

    1. Thsnk you Sandra,
It was almost funny to hear you say you envied me for how much I get done. Some days I don’t feel like I get anything done….but I try hard!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Jeanne, well I typed a whole lot of compliments about your taking pictures and the setup and the beautiful dress and had the box filled and hit the submit button and it says looks like you already commented on this, and POOF! It was gone. Not gonna retype it all. PERFECTION1

  7. Bailey is oh so cute…and just juicy in that pert little outfit you’ve made her, Jeanne…lovely job as always.

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you Becky
Bailey is such a fun little girl and SO full of personality! So glad it comes through!
      Blessings to you,
      Jeanne

  8. Loved seeing the birdbath doing double duty photos. You are so ingenious. The photo with the closeup of the lace/embroidery is so sharp. It really shows well the pretty tiny flowers on the fabric too. This would be perfect to wear for the great Thanksgiving feast.
I wonder what the next outfit will be and who will be the chosen one to wear it? I’ve been seeing lots of Christmas outfits lately. We’re always one step behind around here, and this year maybe two or three. Skipped back to school all together, have no Halloween costumes or Thanksgiving attire, and now Christmas is ahead. At least you are on target for the fashion parade. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
I almost forgot to take a shot of the whole setup but glad I remembered. The grass isn’t quite so green anymore so it was hard to find the greenest spot in the yard…out of the direct sunlight.
I haven’t decided yet who is next. But I really should decide soon…maybe another Fsll dress…ir maybe a Christmas one.
      Thsnks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. There isn’t anything that wouldn’t be cute on Bailey! This dress with the fall colors and the red wig just add to her personality. She’s so happy and bright faced. The photo set up is amazing. This should bring lots of bids :0)

    1. Thank you Kathie,
Bailey does look pretty cute in just about anything she puts on. I love this color on her…thank you so much for your sweet comments.
      Blessings ,Jeanne

  10. Oh my gosh, I heard my Bailey Marie whispering about how pretty that is! Patti Matilda likes it too, but it would look better on Bailey. 🙂

    1. Hi Melody,
I wonder if there are any other Baileys whispering out there??? Hope so..
      Thanks Melody,
      Blessings ,Jeanne
