Mix and Match pieces including a Minnie Mouse!

Okay, this isn’t the way I had planned to show you all the pieces for Lian’s new set, but it will have to do. I realized at 9:30 this evening it was too late to start taking pictures. I’d really like to take some outside with my new “grass!” We’ll see…

Anyway, I ended up with 12…yes TWELVE pieces for Lian’s set. There is plenty to mix and match for a couple of dolls I think. I tried 2 different outfits on her and will just show you the rest all around her… This is such a pretty set just laying on my cutting table… the colors are bright and go together so well. I have loved making this one!

So let’s get started… This is what the winner will receive…

1. Cherries ruffled top
2. Ruffled Skirt
3. Red wool felt hat
4. Red wool felt jacket
5. White shorts
6. Red sleeveless knit top
7. Sailor hat
8. White thigh highs
9. Hair bow
10. Black and white checked bloomers
11. Extra skirt
12. My last red Minnie Mouse doll

I decided I would include the extra skirt… and maybe the winner can find a way to make it look good on one of their dolls.

I am also (sadly) including my last little Minnie Mouse doll. I bought these about 5 years ago and have REALLY enjoyed the outfits I included them with. This will be my last one in the red.

Well let’s see some pictures, okay? The red wool felt is QUITE bright in my pictures. I tried to tone it down just a bit but it still is pretty shocking in some pictures and kind of dull looking in others. It’s just a very pretty red in person. I had never done the edge of a jacket this way and like how it turned out.

I think this last picture of the jacket might be the best color of the whole bunch.

My plan is to get this listed on Ebay if possible…I hope you like it! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

    Oh gosh….oh gosh….oh gosh…….

I hear a huge amount of clamoring from the other room, where Seven LDs are all wanting mommy to bid on that outfit!! It is so so cute!!! I love each and every piece!!

The little red top….I love how you trimmed it! I think I have some of that pre-ruffled silk ribbon trim (in other colors), and always wondered what to do with it; this is perfect!! And what is the glittery bit down the front? Love that extra little sparkle!!

All the pieces are just wonderful, and so many mix-and-match possibilities! I have a feeling you are going to have a bidding war on this one, Jeanne!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
That little red top fabric was already made that way… just something I had in my stash.
It took me a while to get pictures but I managed to get it scheduled for tonight.
      Thanks for your sweet compliments!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Yes, trusting that Charlotte is right…that you’ll have a bidding war on this one, Jeanne. Lian is very cute in each of these mix and match ensembles….you’ve hit the jackpot again with a winner.

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Becky,
Well, I hate to admit it, but a bidding war might be fun!! :o)
Thanks for your kind words, Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. With the red top and white shorts, I’d say Lian is headed to Disneyland! What a wonderful grouping. Each piece is so useful and can supply a couple of twin or even triplet dollies for sure. What fun. You have certainly been busy with this one. Hope you can get some outdoor photos and list soon as I hear clamoring in the background from the troops. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
Lian IS going to Disneyland and she’s pretty excited! She packing her things right now!!
I DID get some outside pictures and you’ll be able to see them on Ebay in about 15 minutes!!
      Thank you, Joy!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Well I only have two LDs but they are making a lot of noise right now. They’re saying something like their wardrobe could sure use the addition of all these wonderful goodies. And so much to share. And then there’s Cleo Patrice who knows the clothes would fit her too. I may have to give this one a try just to quiet them all down.

It is a wonderful collection of pieces. I do love the little red shirt. And the jacket and all the hats are wonderful. And the shorts, and skirt, and thigh highs, and bloomers, and hairbow… Oh my!!!

Hot, hot, hot here right now with heat indexes in the 100s. Even the thought of running errands is exhausting. You just don’t want to leave the air conditioning. And to top this off, we might have a storm headed this way. Could be anything from a tropical storm to a hurricane. A few years ago Allison was just a tropical storm but it stopped over Houston for days and flooded the town nearly as bad as Harvey. We didn’t get a drop of rain out our way. Most of the spaghetti strands are heading it this way but we won’t know for awhile yet. It’s supposed to be here Saturday evening through Sunday if it shows up. Maybe we’ll get some more Saharan dust and it will just disappear. The dust is a problem for me since I’m allergic to dust, but a bad storm would sure be a worse. We’ve got a lot of really tall trees.

    1. Hi Barbara,
I can just hear all the girls chattering in the background everywhere. That makes me smile really big!!! :o) Thank you for your sweet comments about everything!
I hope the storm that’s headed your way bypasses you or just gives you a light sprinkle.
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Impressive amount of super cute items! I think anyone with a Little Darling would have so much fun with all those pieces! Maybe include Padilla Reina in your wording because those items will fit her too.
Today I’m recovering a 1968 Ideal Doll called Little Lost Baby that a lady wants to give to her Granddaughter. It has the sweetest faces…yes, faces…happy, sad and sleeping. Most of these multi faced dolls seem creepy but this one is sooo cute. I’ll send you pics.
    Have fun listing that group.

    1. Thank you so much Kathie,
It’s been a while since I made something so fun! I just love sewing for the Little Darlings and I think my girls were watching from the bookshelf to see what was coming next! :o) I did include Paola Reina in my title, so we’ll see if that helps.
Yes, we’d love to see pictures of the doll you are fixing… I bet she will be beautiful when you are finished with her!
      Thanks again Kathie,
      blessings, Jeanne

  6. Every time I look through these pictures I see another detail! I don’t have a Little Darling. Would this fit 10 inch Robert Tonner dolls? Wherever did you find such tiny Minnie plush? Totes adorbs! I looked at Worlds Smallest Toys on Amazon but none were this tiny.

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jillaurellia, hello. Hmmm, you don’t have a Little Darling. Well, we Little Darling collectors can certainly help you fix that if you would like (laugh).

    2. HI Julia,
I’m not sure which 10″ Tonner dolls you are talking about… I have a 14″ Betsy McCall and she can wear whatever I make for the Little Darlings.
I got those little Minnie Mouse dolls probably about 5 years ago at Walmart. I should have bought the whole lot of them, and have found a few since then, but only have one pink Minnie left. It makes me SO sad… I loved these little girls.
Yes, as Dorothy mentioned, WE can all help you find a Little Darling if you like! :o)
      Thanks so much,
      blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dorothy in PA and the World

    Dear Jeanne, hello.

Wow, the ensemble is fantastic! Have you decided what you are going to name the posting? I am thinking that it could be called something like “Summer travel.” It certainly is a comprehensive wardrobe – from church to the boardwalk.

Lian is definitely going to require many cookies to give up these beautiful clothes.

    1. HI Dorothy,
I had already decided to call it just “Minnie and Me.” I did write your name “Summer Travels” down in my list book. Thanks!
I might even have to make her a PIE… she really likes it and thinks it’s hers!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Wow! This is a complete wardrobe for a Disneyland or Disney World visit. Maybe work that into the title. You really got carried away this time. Thanks for sharing all of the great pieces and the trials and tribulations. Gives us hope when something goes wrong when we are sewing and inspiration to keep trying.

    1. Oh my! So many cute pieces in this little wardrobe. I have that cherry fabric, but I’ve been saving it for just the “right” outfit. It looks like you found the perfect outfit to use it on. I keep looking at the white shorts. They are really cute with the little cuffs.

    2. HI Susette,
I DID mention Disney in the title… I guess she’s going to the Florida one…too scary with all the “shaking” going on in CA right now! Sorry!
I might sew more than most who read my blog, but I also probably RIP more than most too! My seam ripper is right at arms reach!
      Thanks Susette,
I hope the rumbling has settled down some…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. This is going to be a wonderful set and a great bargain for someone. Lian is going to hate to give it up. Think of the winner and how much fun it’s going to be to open a perfectly packed Jeanne Marie box. Be sure to end the auction at a time when most people are available to bid so as many people and as few unsupervised LDs get a chance.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I really had fun with this one and wanted to add more, but decided I should get it listed. I wanted to make some anklets and another top so 3 girls could be dressed in at least 2 pieces plus something for their head.
I HOPE whoever gets this loves opening it up. I’ll have to make it extra special when I pack it up. I’ve got it ending at 9:30 on the east coast, 8:30 Illinois time, and 6:30 in CA. I hope that works for everyone.
(All the Little Darlings should still be up to get the good news if their mommy wins it for them!)
      Thanks Marilyn,
      blessings, Jeanne

  10. What a wonderful set. With so many pieces, this will transition any LD from summer into fall. It certainly would be the perfect set to pack for Disneyland because as any good vacation packer knows, you want to have things that all coordinate together and prepare you for all weather conditions.
Some lucky, little dolly is going to be very happy.

    1. HI Laura,
I’ve never been to Disney but if I were a little girl, I’d pack just what Lian did! :o)
      Thanks Laura,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing this!
      Blessings, Jeanne
