Felicity’s “Fall Favorite”

Good news! I have Felicity’s dress set ALL FINISHED! Aren’t you happy? Well… you might not be as thrilled when you see how I’m going to show those pieces to you… I had company after church and into the afternoon, so there was no time to make the rest of Felicity’s accessories and take pictures for Ebay too… so I just concentrated on getting everything finished and skipped the pictures. I’m not sure I can get it listed Monday evening either, as I have commitments, but I do see an opening for Tuesday evening! Anyway, I’ll work on it and let you know when it’s on Ebay… but for now… here are the pieces…

I started with her DRESS… you all picked the cream and sage fabric and it turned out so pretty… you should congratulate yourselves for having such good taste! :o)

Everyone seemed to like the lace edged FICHU best, so I’m only including it.

Next, you saw her ROUND EARED CAP in a pretty lacy design.

Late Saturday night I finished her tulle SLIP… now I know it’s not authentic Colonial style, but I needed something that wasn’t bulky at the waist but something that would hold out her skirt a bit too…This is what I came up with…

So Sunday evening I came up with her RETICULE and did a little handwork on the front… (It might even have some $$$ inside to weight it properly!) :o)

Then I was inspired to work on her HAT. This is what I came up with…

So I stood back and took a picture of all the pieces…

But I wasn’t thrilled that her slip was so see through and she had no panties or bloomers underneath… so I cut out a pair of PANTALETTES and added them…

Then I took another picture of it all…

I hope you can come back tomorrow to see Felicity all dressed up in everything… I’ve seen her in each piece and she looks so pretty…
Hope you aren’t too disappointed…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

What a lovely ensemble you’ve come up with for Felicity, Jeanne!! I was a little surprised at the red for the reticule and the hat’s ribbons, but then I took another look at the print, and yes, there IS red in there!! I can’t wait to see Felicity all dressed up!!

    1. Hi Charlotte, the reticule isn’t as red as it looks in my pictures, it’s actually more of a burgundy or dark Christmas red.

I hope you like it when it’s all put together….
      Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I believe that the burgundy hat ribbon ties the outfit together. Love that color on Felicity. The outfit will be perfect for those displaying their dolls for fall and into Thanksgiving. And should someone want to have their girl wear it for the December holidays, they might remove the hat and tie back her hair with a simple burgundy ribbon. I can picture Felicity with a Christmas background and holding an ornament. Such a versatile dress. Great work!
    Busy week ahead. Enjoy

    1. Thank you Joy,

The dress set will work for Christmas very well….there is enough of the green and red that shows up in person for it to work.
The hat ribbon looks dark in my pictures but again, in person, it’s pretty…
I just might use my Christmas background scene…I haven’t tried it yet, but it might look pretty.
      Thanks so much Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Trying again! I commented earlier this morning, but the comment wasn’t accepted. Something about not recognizing the language! As far as I know, it was in English!?

The outfits is so pretty and feminine looking, and Felicity will be the belle of the ball! She just has to be going somewhere fancy, doesn’t she? I love the pop of color from the burgundy ribbon and reticule. Her straw hat……….gorgeous!

    1. HI Linda,
Sarah is coming over to my house Wednesday so I might have her look at my computer to see if I have something turned on that’s not supposed to be, or somethung that’s turned off that’s supposed to be on. Susette wasn’t able to get the post today…ugh!!! So sorry…

Thank you so much for your kind words about felicity’s dress set! It really was a fun one to put together and I love how it turned out.
      Blessings, Jeanne

My friend Kathy couldn’t get it today, either, Jeanne; I’m going to try sending her the link and see if she can get it that way.

  4. This outfit is so complete and so completely out of the ordinary. The cap is lovely and the hat is gorgeous and so perfect for fall. Someone wonderful must be coming to Williamsburg to speak at the Governor’s Palace, with a reception afterwards. Someone’s Felicity is going to be a very happy doll. It’s going to be fun to see Felicity completely dressed. I loved wired ribbon for hats like this.

    1. Thank you Marilyn,
I just might have to come up with a storyline using your idea…Joy had mentioned an earlier storyline about Felicity going to town to sell eggs…but I think this is too fancy of a dress for that…then she suggested a Christmas background….hmmm…I have a few ideas now.
      Thanks for your compliments,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Dear Jeanne, it’s all adorable! I vote for the Christmas theme also for the story.

How about a mystery? Thinking about what you said about the reticule (did it belong to a family member – the beautiful lady in the photo?) , maybe she finds something inside of it or she finds something along the way to town and puts it inside. Hmmmm.

    1. HI Dorothy,
I am out doing some errands right now but when I get home I’m going to put Felicity in front of my Christmas backdrop and see how she looks…it would be kind of fun to use it!!

Thanks for your ideas….I’m thinking now.

Did you find any new doll clothes at your doll show?
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Dear Jeanne, hello. No I didn’t purchase anything.

I am on two waiting lists for Little Darlings and I am hoping to get on a third. I have been focusing my energy on the one Little Darling I have and on the Bonekas. No one had any clothing for sale for these dolls.

The Madame Alexander Doll Club convention is in Winston Salem, NC next Summer and I am saving for that. If I can just stay off of ebay…(smile)

  6. I love the outfit! I agree with with Joy that it’s perfect for the fall/winter season. The hat and reticule are lovely.

  7. Not sure why, but I keep getting your posts a day late. Everyone’s replies are dated the 8th and I’m getting the post today on the 9th.

Regardless, Felicity’s outfit is so pretty. The lace is divine. Another fabulous outfit!

  8. How could we ever be disappointed? You always keep us interested and admiring your work. These accessories are just perfect and complete her look. It is seasonless too .
Looking forward to the finished pictures.
Off to do some heavy duty cooking…my friends who formed an “ County Extension Club” almost 45 years ago when we were all young mothers will be here Thursday. At that time we were all living in the country..most on farms and it was so nice to have a “girls group” Now we just meet to have lunch and visit about our kids and grandkids.
