Welcome to 2018…

I was hoping to write a post for the first day of 2018, but Kristoffer made a pork loin with potatoes/carrots and a delicious homemade Tiramisu dessert so I never got around to writing…
I hope you had a wonderful evening…

Happy New Year!!!

I’ll see you tomorrow!
Blessings, Jeanne

Happy New Year to you and yours, Jeanne! Everyone deserves a holiday now and then; today was yours!

    1. Thank you Marilyn,
I know you have snow, and I hope you’re staying warm!
Happy New Year to you too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks very much Charlotte,
I plan on having a wonderful year! I hope you do too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Happy New Year, Jeanne! Try to stay warm today, and enjoy the start of the new year! Happy New Year, everyone!

    1. Thank you Linda,
I’m trying to stay warm, but it’s been kinda hard! Let’s start a rebellion against the cold weather! Anyone in?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Wow, traded off for pork loin, potatoes and carrots, and Tiramisu. How could you? Sounds like you had a yummy New Years. Happy that you had a wonderful time with family.
It was a pretty mild New Years around here. Not too many fireworks which are illegal anyway. I’m sure it was because of the recent fires and no one wanted hear more explosions. We actually had Poppa Murphy’s gourmet veggie pizza which was delicious.
The sun is speaking through the trees this morning. Quite an amazing sunrise over the hills. Know others are pretty cold, but we are hoping for rain in the next few days.
I noticed that today is the release day for the new American Girl doll of the year. Saw a bunch of people in line in New York online. I will have to take a look later.
Hope your New Years Day is relaxing. Have a wonderful day everyone.

    1. HI Joy,
Our New Year’s Eve dinner WAS yummy! That boy can cook! :o)
I heard some fireworks last night too… about 6 big booms from one of the neighbors down the road… I can see why fireworks might be banned there too… They actually are in IL too, but lots of people set them off anyway!
Oh, I’ve had that Papa Murphy’s pizza before…it’s wonderful!
When I saw your comment about the new AG doll… I had to take a peek at Luciana, the new astronaut girl… not for me…
Happy New Years to you Joy, sorry a little late!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. New Year’s greetings to you, Jeanne, and all others reading this. I trust we can enjoy much sewing, dolls and friendship as the year progresses. We’re all so appreciative of you, Jeanne. Enjoy that lovely meal’s leftovers, if there are any!

    Blessings.

    1. HI Becky,
We didn’t want the Tiramisu around, so he took it home and left us one piece of tenderloin about the size of a deck of cards… We must be trying to see who can hold out the longest, because it’s still in the frig…
I’m hoping for MUCH more sewing this year, and more new friends, and of course a NEW doll would just be the best! :o)
      Thanks so much Becky,
Have a wonderful New Year, yourself!
      Blessings, Jeanne

PS… Happy Belated Birthday to your Mama!

    1. Thank you so much Ingrid,
I’ll wish the exact same thing back to you too!
Happy New Year to you… may it be wonderful!
Thanks for the birthday wishes for my mom!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Dear Jeanne, Thanks for being our doll “glue” and holding us together. So no worries, we will just sit on the sofa and sip tea and wait for tomorrow’s missive. I hope you have a wonderful first meal of 2018.

    1. HI Dorothy,
We were working on my mom’s files today, and it got to be almost 6:00 and my hubby said, maybe we should make some dinner… he got up and got some chicken started…and it was wonderful…
Busy day at the table, but it ended well… the chicken, not the books so much! Lots to go through yet!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Happy New Year’s Greetings, Everyone! My life has been too busy, and I have missed the fellowship (and some charming doll outfits) of this joyful blog site very much during my absence! For the New Year, I have resolved to try to become a regular again, if you all will have me! Wishing each of you as much health, hope, and happiness as 2018 can hold!

    Blessings,
    Anne

    1. Hello Miss Anne,
Welcome, welcome, welcome! You HAVE been missed and it’s nice to hear from you on the regular “comments” page! I like it very much, yes, I do! :o)
      Of course, we’ll HAVE you!
Have a wonderful new year in your new home!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Happy New Year!! I wish everyone here a joyous year. We are still having very cold temperatures. I bet the people in Times Square nearly froze last night. you wouldn’t catch me willing to stand out in the cold.
Jeanne, your son is quite the cook. I love Tiramisu.
Yes, as Joy said, the new doll came out today. It’s a more interesting theme than many years IMO. Still no interest her though. I am and always will be a historical doll lover.

    1. HI Laura and Happy New Year’s to you too!
I can’t imagine standing out in that cold either… it was a bit drafty feeling in our house and that was cool enough to suit me… :o)
I’m like you, give me a historical doll any day!
I took a break this evening (after dinner and my mom’s files were cleared off the table), to just browse on Ebay… these were the things I looked at… the Scenes and Settings books again, Caroline, Samantha…trying to see if I could see the difference in the PC and the newer versions, Kirsten…the older ones, and Kit again… silly woman! :o)
What I was looking for, I have no idea… I guess I was just window shopping… although when I was looking at Samantha, I was thinking of you… in my head it was like like, “I wonder if Laura would like this doll over this one?” “Does she look like she has an old head on a newer body? Laura would know!” Stuff like that…
Thanks for being a part of us, Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Kristoffer certainly deserved your undivided attention for the day. What a wonderful meal to share. I’m late commenting as I was changing all of my dolls’ clothes for the new year. This certainly is a hobby to be shared by a mother/daughter team as I don’t see how a small child could deal with the tiny snaps and buttons and tight fits of the clothes. A nice adult hobby too. Thanks again to Kathie for reconstructing my Mary Hoyer doll from childhood a while back so she could wear the skater outfit my mother had made for her. Happy New Year to all our blog friends.

    1. Thanks Susette,
I’m happy to see your dolls are getting new outfits… for the new year! It does take time to change them all, but they’ll be so happy to be in all their pretty new things!
I loved your pictures so much and just might have to share them…they were too sweet!
Blessings and a very Happy New Year to you Susette!
      ~ Jeanne
