Nyssa’s Christmas dress in the works…

YAY! I’m making some progress on the next Christmas doll dress you all voted for me to make. It’s for Nyssa, my 18″ beauty by Kaye Wiggs. She picked out a pretty red floral print from my fabric stash and said she had some ideas to help get me started. She is so thrilled to get out of her box that I think I can see a faint smile on her face as she’s laying on my cutting table.

Nyssa’s ideas included a red dress with some black and white accents to make the whole look pop!

Okay…let’s get started by cutting it out….

I had only sewn on it for about 20 minutes when I encountered my first “uh-oh” moment… Can anyone, especially you seamstresses out there, see what’s wrong with this picture???

I should have checked the back side because after it was all stitched up, this is what I had in the back…

Now look back at the previous pictures and you can see I didn’t have the back lace even from one side to the other….it’s lower on one side…UGH!!! Not being one to let it “slide” I took it all apart and made the back laces even…

Aaaahhh…. much better. Hopefully this will be my one and only mistake on this dress.

…next the sleeves…

…and a few more pictures of my progress. Nyssa told me she wants to wear her black wig for her photo shoot….I think so too!

Hopefully, I’ll have it all finished and ready for Nyssa’s BIG REVEAL tomorrow… you don’t want to miss it.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
