Want to keep this blog going another 11 years? I’ll need your help! :o)

Hi everyone,
I had read some of the comments on Friday about it being my eleventh year of writing this blog, but not everything. I went back this evening and read them all and was so blessed by your sweet compliments and kind words. I still can’t believe it’s been that long either! I looked back to see who were the ladies who joined me that very first post I wrote… They were Sally, Christine, Cindy (my sister), Jeannie B and Sissy! Then the second day it was Trish, Hertha, Linda in MI, Sissy and Linda in St. Louis! It’s been fun and I have been blessed in so many ways! Thank you all for joining me each day to see what’s happening here with me and all across the planet! From France to New Zealand and California to New Hampshire, there are ladies whose love of dolls and sewing for them get excited to be with other ladies who have the same passion!

I looked back at Joy’s Alice doll, by Tonner and then tried to find her on the link that Dorothy in PA shared… I posted it again because you might like scrolling through it again.) It was really interesting! If you just keep scrolling down, (it will say “loading more”) you can find the “My Imagination” Tonner dolls called the Starter dolls. I was going to get the brunette doll at one time…

Doll Scroll

I think we should all keep an eye out for a bunny rabbit for Joy’s Alice doll. That fox will never do, if a suitable rabbit can be found!

Well, the wedding was absolutely wonderful and the day was just beautiful. It was 75 degrees, slightly breezy and very low humidity! There were about 275-300 people there and it was like a big reunion for a lot of us. There were people who traveled long distances to attend and there just wasn’t enough time to visit with everyone we wanted to.

They asked that no pictures be taken during the ceremony, so I only have a few pictures after the wedding and at the reception, one picture. I’ll get some from someone else soon.

Someone snapped this one of me…

Here is the happy bride and groom!

This shows just how crowded the reception was. We were sitting at table #34… the last table numbered in the room. We were also dismissed to get food last! Oh well…

The Giveaway I talked about will be later in the week. We had too much to catch up on and I need a little more time.

I will see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Interesting, who your very first blog followers were, Jeanne. I remember seeing your mention of your then new blog on the Little Darlings group we had going at the time, so I think I was probably within the first year anyway, maybe the first few months. I honestly don’t remember.

I have told people about the special group we have hear, and when I’ve told how supportive the ladies of this group are of each other, people are really rather amazed, I think–that this group of people from all different places, situations, etc., not only encourage each other (and you, of course) on the blog but pray for each other, even send cards and, occasionally, gifts!! I think it’s something very special.

Thank you for posting pictures from the wedding–very nice! That was quite a crowd! (I like your new dress, by the way.)

I have another update on Sarah: her surgery (triple bypass, as she had three blocked arteries) is to be at 12 noon Central Daylight Time. Isaac has been trying so hard to support his mother, communicate with family, etc. He does have to work tomorrow, so please pray that he will be able to focus on his job. I think it will help serve as a distraction–having sat thru my late mother-in-law’s triple bypass (she was in her 70s at the time, and lived to be 93), as well as a number of surgeries that Ron had, I know how hard it is to wait. But, he does drive forklift, and not sure what else, so safety is a concern. I think Lily (Isaac’s sister) will be waiting at home, although I haven’t heard from her in a couple of days.

Thank you all for all your prayers on their behalf.

    1. Please keep us posted on Sarah. She’s in good knowledgeable hands. I will be thinking and praying for her.

    2. Joy in northern CA

Thanks for the weekend update. Glad the surgery is scheduled and a go. Thoughts with you and family.

    3. Prayers for Sarah and her family, Charlotte. Please do continue to keep us updated.

What a beautiful day, Jeanne, for the wedding! I was thinking about you all day and could not believe the difference in the weather we had from just a few sweltering days ago! I love your dress, and your hair is just beautiful! George looked so handsome in his suit, and you make a very good looking couple! The bride looked radiant and I hope the happy couple enjoy many wonderful years together! What a crowd tney had to celebrate with!

Charlotte, my son-in-law had a triple bypass about 8 years ago, when he was in his mid 40’s, and is the picture of health today. I know it seems scary, but with all the wonderful advances in medicine today, it is wonderful what they can do. Prayers for Sarah and your brother-in-law, from your post yesterday.

  3. It was so nice to see you and George together in a picture. You are both a handsome couple. Your dress is very pretty, Jeanne and I like the gray in your hair. I too, have strands of gray in the front ( inherited from my mom – she had the gray strands up front too. ) I. like them myself.
That certainly was a huge wedding reception. What a nice turnout and happy day for the couple.

I too think our group of doll and sewing ladies is special too. Thank you for this opportunity to enjoy with you and others.

The last couple of days have been wonderfully cool. It looks like our area might get in the 80’s.

Dear Paula, I echo you. Jeanne and George are so lovely together. One can just see the love that they share.

  4. Happy Monday dear friends!
11 years, it seems longer ago!
Thank you for sharing the wedding pictures. What a lovely newly married couple, and you and George are also quite handsome. I love your dress Jeanne.
That was quite a crowd at the wedding. I do not think I had 300 ppl at my wedding!
Jeanne, I can not recall when I discovered your blog!!?? I guess I will have to go back and find that day haha
Today we are getting a Maytag washer and dryer (yay) I am going to do about three loads of laundry, just to test it out and make sure it does not have problems….

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Rosemary, oh my goodness, you just made me smile. I remember the old commercials with the Maytag man. They were so funny.

The new Maytag man, Colin Ferguson, is quite handsome. I think he has been in some of the Hallmark movies.

I’m late, I’m late for a very important date! I fell down Dorothy’s Tonner rabbit hole and only finally escaped. I couldn’t see it when I looked earlier, but today, everything was coming up clearly. So many great Tonner dolls. Thanks Dorothy and Jeanne for reminding me to look again. πŸ™‚ My Alice is from around 2000, I believe. Haven’t found her yet on the Scroll though. Still looking. I believe that she is part of the Penny and Friends body, anyway. Face seems to be a combo of Betsy and Ann Estelle. Not sure on that either, but Tonner did make Baking Gingerbread and Little Red Riding Hood with the same face. πŸ™‚

What a great photo of Jeanne and George at the wedding. Fun seeing the bride and groom too. Glad the weather cooperated. And Jeanne’s outfit, saw the cute bag, was perfect. πŸ™‚

Here, we managed to move the lumber from where we put it on Friday, in the backyard to it’s current resting location on the lower deck. Each piece, they were heavy, up the stone steps, out around the upper area, a big turn, then up the steps to the lower deck. The 20 footers were the worst. It was hot again, so when we were finally done with the lumber, that was it. But, when we finally had some shade, other person was working on old screw removal. This is not working. Not sure how we can get them all out even with the star bit.
So, nothing much new to report except today is going to be another warm one. Getting lots of squash and cherry tomatoes now so that’s good. πŸ™‚

Dear Joy, I will see if anyone in my local doll club can identify your doll.

Looking forward to reading about your next caper (smile).

    2. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Joy, your doll sold on ebay a while back. Here is a link to the pre-sale information:
      https://www.ebay.com/itm/197557553241?_skw=tonner+alice+in+wonderland&itmmeta=01K1V3MDQZW0DATNYTVZCB6483&hash=item2dff590859:g:xEYAAeSwyGVogSwg&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1erxov%2FcCT05ZwrbBeZ0gMRX6nokrgPKwS2rQbz6t9SxGbG2COkp14mJwgNuDpW3NYd4sh0cMrdnmWXvP6DNfCA51vnFLlSXIAbRnUw1mIJd64MeDGVbTRPkMFY7KJxwozi215hWT6zjo63BxervquBRgCdeX0RXojGLsgxgHba9cZ0NgWwQmmgixDyBtW48LmAsoJLt%2FJqs9kows3F%2FaX9xAxjfYt0gByC6mM47j9zQ1tIxbpW8KMU9Kx0CA6RiPtgpY18pyBQZNKY7j3PnYdcv3U2MZ%2FJMDczokroVkc8cXg4W3tdfx7ZmdvPYh2QMXM%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR47c0eOOZg

One of my friends sent this information “The worth point description shows her as Β Alice in Wonderland RT3201. She came with a white rabbit.” I don’t subscribe to Worth Point but if you do, you might find a better description.

I will let you know if I find more information.

      1. Joy in northern CA

Thanks so much Dorothy. I keep gathering the information together. I did find a pic of an 18″ Ann Estelle doll on the Scroll site. Not the same face as mine though, but same body I believe. I was able to access the site Charlotte had through another way and see the other two dolls like mine. So, I have some photos saved of them all. πŸ™‚

  6. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, what a lovely wedding couple. I enjoyed seeing the photo of you and George also!

I have a Tonner My Imagination starter doll. Mine has blond hair. I got her when I was gathering up 18-inch dolls for a display I was creating.

Here comes my lament about May. I miss May! I want May back (smile).

  7. Sometime I’ll have to go back and see the first day I commented. It may have not been the first day I saw you blog though. So nice to see you, George, and the lovely wedding couple.
Another wonderfully cooler and breezy day. YAY!

  8. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Just got home from unexpected funeral in North GA. Will get back to y’all tomorrow.
