Hi everyone,
We’ve all made it to Friday, and you know what that means… (well, it means the weekend is upon us, but…) it means Mae’s sweet little blue and tan set, with lots of other goodies ends this evening on Ebay! If you haven’t seen it or want to take another peek, you can see it by clicking the picture at the right-side bar or you can click HERE to be taken to Ebay.
Here’s another thing that Friday means… it’s OUR 44th ANNIVERSARY! It’s truly hard to believe that 44 years ago we got married. It seems like we have always been together! It’s also Rebecca and Karn’s 4th Anniversary! That’s hard to believe too! They got married on the same date we did and will always be 40 years behind us! My hubby also has another surprise for me! Oh goody!!! I’m SO glad the Lord saved my hubby just for me… I can’t imagine having anyone else as my hubby but him. He is so good to me!!
Next: Sissy sent me some pictures of the wedding she went to and I’ll show those pictures Monday…
Okay, what’s new with Lavender today? Well, I looked at the handful of scraps I had left over from the jumper and decided it would have to be a bow or a headband with a tied bow added to it. I decided this jumper wasn’t really the “bow” kind of dress, so the headband was a go!
I had to sew one piece on the end of one of the scraps to have enough to go around Lavender’s head and fasten in back with a snap. Then I made a long narrow rounded piece and tied it onto the 1/4″ wide band. Fluffed the bow just a bit and it was done! Lavender likes it and said, “I look cool now!” Well, I hope so, that’s what I was aiming for. I told her I hoped the kids at school liked it too! :o)
Now it was time to decide on the blouse for this jumper. I decided to go ahead and make the blouse I was thinking of in the first place and see how it looked. From a distance the fabric looks like it’s a check, but it’s actually a green with tiny white circles or dots, giving the illusion it’s a checked print.
I used the Keeper’s Dolly Dud’s pattern I have used a couple times before and think this will work. I only have the collar section done…
I like it because the low cut jumper front showcases the lapels of the blouse perfectly… at least for now it does.
This is how it looks from a distance…
I took the sleeve and wrapped it around her arm just to show you how it will “sort of” look like.
Here is a shot of Lavender with the “sleeve” wrapped around, but a full shot.
I will keep working on things as I can and see you back here on Monday… OR maybe I’ll see you Friday night on Ebay watching from the sidelines of Mae’s dress set! :o)
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Happy anniversary, Jeanne and George! And to Rebecca and Karn, also. I had forgotten that they got married on your wedding anniversary. Hope you have a wonderful day today, and get to do some of the things you like best!
The headband turned out very cute, and I have to say I am really liking that blouse fabric. When you show it so close-up that way, it makes a big difference in how it appears, at least to my eyes. And I like how the collar lays over the neckline of the Jumper–really pretty.
I’m looking forward to seeing Sissy’s pictures on Monday. Today I got pictures taken of the dolls I made. Will try to send some of to Jeanne shortly.
Good morning to you all, especially to Jeanne and George, Rebeca and Karn,
Happy Anniversary and wishes for many more!
I love the new blouse and hair band, great additions to a really great outfit.
My Ronny is gone and my porches are clean, even the ceilings where the
wasps make nests. It has been a wonderful time, with being with family, but also tiring. We miss it all but are also glad for a rest.
Off for the Y and some water exercise, Have a great day, Y’all.
Happy Anniversary all of you!
September is the month!! Hubbs and I celebrate ours this month too!!!!
Today, I hope for all of you, is a beautiful day!
Jeanne, Lavender’s new blouse is very cute, I love the teeny tiny gingham!
I love the blouse pattern too… and the little hair bow. Adorable
Happy Friday again! the days fly by.
Happy Anniversary, Jeanne and George!๐. You two are perfect for each other! Many more happy years to come for the two of you, and Rebecca and Karn too! How sweet that you both have anniversaries on the same day!
Well, if you told me you would have polka dots on the blouse, I would have thought you were losing it, Jeanne! Not to worry, those little dots are perfect! I love the way the collar shows against the jumper, and the little headband is perfect for todayโs girls! Not too frilly and not too plain, just right!
Canโt wait to see whatโs coming!
Happy anniversary! You two have been a perfect match — do you have a wedding picture? Did you design your dress? Congratulations to Rebecca and Karn too. They have a long way to go.
Speaking of long ways, I just read that a 102 year old man, accompanied by family and friends, climbed Mt. Fugi, beating the former record for oldest climber, which he himself set when he was 96. It looks like he’s telling us all to just keep going.
I hadn’t commented on Mae’s new dress, which is a real winner. Molly might very well like something similar. I really like Lavender’s collar too. And those shoes. I never liked anklets, but with this outfit, they work.
Yes, Jeanne, where is that wedding picture? We would love to see it!
I concur. Jeanne’s wedding picture is needed. ๐
Well, a big Happy Anniversary to Jeanne and George, Rebecca and Karn too. The good old 44 and 4. Congrats to you guys.
I like Lavender’s new bow accessory, but I would like to see it more to the front of her head and right behind her ears. Maybe it won’t work on her. Don’t know. I still think that the dot green fabric washes out Lav, and would have prefered one of the two darkest colors in the fabric for a top. And it seems like it is a bit too much with the blouse lapels and fabrics fighting each other. But then, that’s just me. Maybe I’ll change my mind when the sleeves are on. ๐ That top might be cute with a pair of shorts as another accessory. Still plenty hot in lots of places.
Here, I made new collar pieces and using that high powered flashlight. Managed to trim and clip them without another accident. I didn’t put the flash in my teeth, but propped it up on my scissors so the light was directly on my stitching point. But, flash, a lightbulb moment! If I lay the pieces down with a piece of white paper underneath, I can actually see the fabric edge and be able to guide it through the machine so I can attach the collar pieces and facing. But, that is yet to come and hopefully today. Oh, the dreads of having old eyes. Ugh
Managed to get more done on fastening down the new deck boards. Yay. Can’t clean up until all of the tools are no longer needed. Oh, and one of the deck railing pieces, a 16ft piece is off so we can put on a new piece. We’ll see what we can get done today. ๐
Dear Jeanne, Happy Anniversary! I am sure that George is just as happy to have you as his wife as you take such good care of him. You are a lovely and loving couple. I am wishing God’s blessings for your celebration.
Dear Sofa Sisters, I know some of you like the Ruby Red dolls. Well, my friend Martha in Canada collaborated with Ruby Red in the creation of another doll. He is shown on the un bonheur de colibri website. This is a doll shop located in France. I am not sure if it will ship to the US now, though.

Happy first weekend in September to you all!
Love Edwin, the new RRed boy by Martha Boers. He comes with a wonderful outfit and can pair up with several of the Ruby Red girls. However, there is quite a wait. End of December or later when he will be sent out by Ruby Red. And the amount of tariffs could be a no getter for me. We won’t know the amount until delivery time, so ordering is questionable for me. Ruby Red has been paying any tariffs, but not so sure that will be the case in December. I don’t believe that France is sending anything at this time to the U.S. Understandably. And there is a tariff on French goods now and I will have to pay when a preordered doll from months ago arrives. I wish it was back to how it was in the past.
Happy Anniversary to you, Jeanne and George and to Rebecca and Karn as well. ๐
Lavender’s new hairband is the perfect design, a cross between casual and dressy. The new blouse is cute, too, and I like the lapels over the jumper. She’s looking very stylish.
Happy Anniversary Jeanne. I wonder how many years ago it was I discovered we share the same anniversary date. Your relationship with George sounds just like ours. God blessed us with each other as he did both of you. I love the outfit you are making. The fabric choice is so pretty. I always look forward to seeing what you create because it is always perfection. God Bless
