~ Pint Size Patriot ~ is now listed on Ebay…

Hi everyone,
I guess you can see I was able to get back to my sewing… I delivered the MIL dress and it fit very nicely. I will get some pictures at the wedding Saturday. She let me take a picture of her at the dorm room, but I’ll wait until after the wedding to show it.

I came home and had one thing on my mind… get Bailey’s dress set listed on Ebay. I had some pictures that were fine, but it was such a nice day out, I really wanted a few with natural lighting. Bailey is pretty photogenic if you can get your camera focused just right. I captured a few that I thought were sweet of her and GOT IT LISTED! YAY for Jeanne!

You can see it by clicking the picture of her at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

Here are a few pictures from outside… this will be it for today. I have so much to get back in order at my house… mainly getting my bedroom back in order and things back in my sewing room where they belong.

She is such a little cutie and remember, this set will fit the new 5.5″ Dazzle doll by Ruby Red Fashion Friends.
Thanks everyone… I’m ready to sew again!

I’ll see you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on getting Bailey’s outfit listed, Jeanne! It was nice to see the previous one on Dazzle, too, as I’m sure at least a few of us did order her. 🙋‍♀️

This is such a cute outfit, and has so many things going for it. I noticed you used the term “pedal pushers”, after several of us mentioned that in yesterday’s comments!!

I always enjoy being “let in on” what goes into making your creations, and sometimes one of us might even make a comment or suggest a title that gets at least considered if not used! I think we all feel like we’re part of each of your sewing projects because of that! Thank you.

Referring back to comments yesterday (unrelated to the outfit): Rollator is a brand of walker. There are different brands of walkers, and even different configurations. Also, walkers come in different sizes. Ron had the sort of average size of Rollator, as he was 5’5″ (at one time–by the time he died, he had lost about 3″ in height). I have what I think is called the mini-Rollator, as I’m very short. Unfortunately, they must think that if you are short, you are also very skinny, as the seat isn’t as wide as on the standard sized ones!! I fit, but I’d better not gain much more weight!!

Rosemary, I lost my daddy 20 years ago, and I still sometimes feel the way you do. Not as often any more, but occasionally. I was definitely a daddy’s girl, and his death was the hardest thing I’d had to deal with up until Ron died. Hang in there; it does start to get a little easier, but there will probably always be those “gotcha” moments.

    1. yes, those memories never never fade. They do get softer.
Packing my own house is difficult because it was only two years ago I packed (for two months) went through mom and dad’s apartment (long long story, I moved these two dear ones, both from Holland and world travelers, here from Annapolis Maryland in 2013. Long process.
So, that move out was memorable and also the second year of my daughter and her brutal husbands estrangement. Oh my miss both of my parents, the last 13 years of their lives, well, mom’s was only 3.5 years, were the greatest gift. Charlotte, you are such a dear friend

Thank you, Rosemary, and you as well. I love how we all seem to develop thes beautiful friendships thru this blog!

Oh gosh, Jeanne, Bailey is just a little doll all “prettied” up! (no pun intended). The outside pictures really do her justice and she looks just so cute and loveable, not to mention patriotic! It was fun to see now you started with a simple little dress, and added something here and there, and before you knew it, you had an entire outfit with accessories, plus something to eat! I wonder just who the new owner will be, a Bailey or a Dazzle! I did notice the “pedal pusher” reference too!

Thank you, Charlotte, for explaining what a rollator is. At first I thought it was some kind of sewing machine attachment you all were talking about! LOL

I guess the wedding is this coming weekend? It will be a hot one for sure, since we are gearing up for a heat wave here in this part of the country. Can’t wait to see the pictures!

Hi Linda, somehow I missed the Rollator comments. My mom has one that she got when she injured her hip and knee a few years ago. The doctor felt it was good to have a seat instead of just a walker while she healed. Of course, she’s hung onto it.

      1. Linda in St. Louis

Hi Laura! Good for her to hang onto it! I think she and I are 1942 babies and every day brings a new challenge! You just never know when yu will need such things!😊

  3. Bailey looks so cute.
My grand daughter’s squealed when they saw her pics yesterday, they are coming over today for a few hours for lunch and loading up their car. My daughter, I know I have said this before, but my older daughter is an angel, I love her so much, and her calmness and encouragement. Yes, this visit from her and her hubby and girls did give me courage. Funny that we are still living in this old house. We are in no hurry to rush out or sell. A very weird feeling. I am glad our new house is only 5 miles away.
Anyway, BAILEY!! This outfit will sell very quickly. It looks well made, perfectly matched, love the hat band, This dear dolly is the cutest like a little sprite!
I wish all of you a very good week-end. My sister Joyce in her water damaged house lives in Maryland about an hour and 15 mins away. Rex and I are always here for advice.
So far she is coping. I text her a few times a day to check in.

Today is a nice very sunny day (after many days of storms) and tomorrow the heat wave begins. Take very very good care of yourselves dear ones.
Jeanne, yes, get your house and sewing spaces sorted. My “houses” are both kind of disorganized and I do find it daunting, but I have several sewing projects prepared and packaged to start, and about three quilts that need binding.

Rosemary, I am so glad you are having this lovely visit from you Darling Daughter, and her family, nice that they are so helpful as well as loving!
hope your sister is finding some help with her watered house.

My dad passed in 1994, he was ninety. I miss him every day, as well as my mom, who passed 3 years later, almost to the day. Good parents are so very missed.

I am so glad that Jeanne was able to get those outdoor pictures. What great lighting and poses too. I love all of them, but the last one, with Bailey on the bench and the green grass behind is my favorite. So fun!
Very happy to hear that that dress for the mother in law was a good fit. That must have made Jeanne proud after so much detective work and effort. Looking forward to seeing some wedding pics.
Here, the skirt is pinned on my fiasco of a sew along dress and ready to sew. Hope to get that done today, but you never know. Things seem to kind of crop up to do around here.
Yesterday, I planned to do some weeding in the shade before it got too hot and ended up in the middle of a bush trying to pull out ivy and cut out thorny blackberry. Very dirty work and by the time I was done, I was cooking too. So much for what I thought would be a nice relaxing job in the shade. But, I did manage to fill another yard can. As I finished up, I remembered that was where we had a yellow jacket nest in the ground last year. Fortunately, I didn’t run into any while yanking and pulling but I did manage to snag myself several times with rose thorns. Definitely need new leather gloves as thorns are going right through them now.
    Have a great weekend, everyone.

Love the outdoor pictures of Bailey. She is definitely photogenic.

I’m moving right along with changing my dolly girls from spring to summer. I actually forgot I had made some of them short sets last summer. I was thinking I needed to make some of them summer clothes but was relieved to see it was done so I can move on to other things. Today I will do my H4H girls (six of them) and then tomorrow I will change my RRFF. Lost count of how many of them.

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

Definitely planning at least one swim party for this summer. I want to make a few more bathing suits first.

  6. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, Bailey looks adorable. I think she could be on the leading float in the parade!

We are one month out from heading to the UFDC Convention in Norfolk, Virginia. I don’t know if there will be a video this time but I will definitely take photos.

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Joy, thanks! During Convention, we are planning to attend Afternoon Tea in Virginia Beach. I am so excited about that!

    1. Barbara Owen Haring

I can’t wait to see your pictures. I love seeing what’s up even when i can’t attend an event in person.

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Barbara, hello. I am a great “armchair” traveler also. I have just returned from a World Cruise with a lovely couple on YouTube. No passport or payment needed. All I had to do was make a cup of tea and turn on my computer (laugh).

    2. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Dorothy, please send a photo of Helen Kish’s doll. I never get to see those in photos that are sent.

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Sissy, hello. I will not be attending the Helen Kish meal event. The cost of the meal with the doll is more than my budget will allow. I will see if I can find someone I know who is attending and take a picture of the doll she receives.

Some of the dolls are posted under the Artist tab on the UFDC Convention website. Here is the link:
        https://www.ufdc.org/convention/events/artists/

I hope you enjoy the Modern Doll convention. I usually check Allison’s website (Muñecas, Poupees, and Dolls) to see what is happening.

Bailey is ready to wave her flag at the 4th of July parade. With her trusty red watch she won’t be late for any of the festivities. Hopefully, some weeding this weekend before the temps soar and we pass out for the heat. Our garden store is having their annual Thank You sale, so a trip out there is planned to look at the perennials.

  8. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Jeanne, she is cute as a button!! Every little piece of it just jumps with joy. So happy to get you sewing for dolls again, and hope things can calm down for you for awhile!

We spent the morning traveling to the Y and grocery store. I just received a text from my 13 year old granddaughter asking for a photo of her dad at her age. He is 60 now and it had to go through a LOT of photos to fine the right age that didn’t have a photo that had lost the color. I hope she is pleased.
    Going to cook now.
    Y’all have a great weekend.

    1. Joy in northern CA

Sissy, you probably know this, but there are several groups on FB that cater to fixing photos. You just join and then you can post a photo and ask for help in returning the color or even changing the background. People do it for free and they come out looking great.

      1. Barbara Owen Haring

Joy, I had no idea about this. Thanks for the heads up. I belonged to a photo club when I was in high school. I don’t know what kind of film they sent but the photos have faded terribly over the years and some of them were of my graduation.

    2. Barbara Owen Haring

A couple years ago I went through all my photos and made up a package for Sean and his family. Since I always had duplicates made, it was easy to keep a set and give him a set. The grandkids wanted to see what daddy looked like when he was their age. I used to be great at taking pictures but leave that up to my DIL now. I was prepared to do a package for my daughter too, but she wanted hers sent in an e-mail and then just some of them. There will be a set for her whenever she’s ready.

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

OOPS! I used the wrong signature for my comment. I’m surprised it actually went through.
