Hi everyone,
Rebecca and Karn left yesterday morning, so I am back in my sewing room. I need to kick it into high gear, don’t you think?
The dress is technically done, but I still have a few things to add to the set…
I’m still having trouble with the pictures, (UGH), but I’ve used my Picasa photo software and made them as nice as I can. I wish you could see them on my phone… they are crystal clear, but when I transfer them to my blog, they suddenly get this grainy fuzzy look to them.
Well, that’s for another day. I’ll just tell anyone who is thinking of buying this… it will be better in person , so if you like it in my pictures, you SHOULD LOVE it in person!
Okay, let’s see what I managed to get done.
Natasha said white thigh highs were too Eastery, so she picked shimmery silver… CHECK!
She was very explicit letting me know she wanted a white slip with lace at the bottom and a red bow for accent! CHECK!
She said she wanted the dress long, but still wanted to see the slip peeking out from underneath the dress… Here’s what we came up with:
She wanted black embroidery floss run through the beading on the bodice lace… CHECK!
Oh…and tied in a bow… CHECK!
We figured out what we are going to do with her hair… 1/2 of a CHECK!
She still wanted to use the green velvet purse with the dress… CHECK!
Apparently she was exhausted because she laid down on the table and said, “Night!” CHECK!
I’ll do my best to get this finished up ASAP! I hope you let your girls see this one on the computer… I’d like to know what they think!
*wink* *wink*
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I’m glad you had such a nice visit from Rebecca and Karn; I trust they made it home safely–and don’t wait a whole year for their next visit!
Natasha’s outfit is just perfect! I do love the longer length, and the petticoat underneath, and the silvery stockings. And the purse is just the right accessory!
Jeanne, Little Nat is just perfect! I know that Santa will just be bowled over when he sees her coming towards him to let him know what she wants for Christmas.
I know you will miss Rebeca and Karn. I hope they can come back again sooner than this time.
All the mess up that was going on this past week has finally finished. I received a free box of pears to make up for the ones that were sent to the wrong address. When I kept telling the scam people that I would not go away until they refunded my money, and that Pay Pal has been notified, they refunded it. I have changed my Pay Pal password. UPS sent my son’s gift to his old address but he was able to get it from them. This wasn’t the first time it has happened. I will go to the UPS store and make sure the old address is gone from them. It was the person who wrapped it that made the error.
My youngest grandgirl turned fourteen yesterday. My oldest grandgirl sent me a very sweet thank you text for the birthday card I sent . That was a nice surprise.
I am hoping that all this will mean a good week has started.
Wishes for a good week for you all.
Oh wow, sure glad that you got the mailing mess fixed. So stressful.
Thank you, Joy. I did tell the people who scammed me that I would return that useless hand thing I bought but they said to keep it. I am not surprised!
Oh yes, Jeanne, I love Natasha’s dress! I love the longer length and how the petticoat makes it stand out and showing that pretty lace! That dress could be for an old fashioned doll, as well as a modern one. Just the thing I am looking for in a Christmas dress for my Susette (Sara)! The green of the purse pops against the red of the dress! I wonder, is there going to be g too be anything at all for her head, ribbon, flower, ??? I tucked a little red rose on Betsy’s hair and it is really cute with her Christmas outfit! By the way, that hairdo is darling on Natasha!
This is short, but I am so busy and need to get going if I am ever going to finish anything!
Please excuse the mistakes! I don’t push down on the keyboard very well, and miss completely some letters!
Happy Monday everyone!
I hope everyone has a great day. It is cold here in Northern Virginia.
How nice Rebecca and Karn stayed so long, how absolutely wonderful and spend time with them.
Natasha’s dress is perfectly adorable. I just love it. Every detail. The little cute purse too, precious!
Stay warm and cozy any of you shivering from the cold blast. We need a central humidifier here in our new house. At present my hair is flying everywhere from static.
Well, another foggy cold morning for us. Cat’s been fed. Now, we need to decide on those pesky appliances. Took another look at Consumer’s Report, and Bosch for a dishwasher knocks the socks off any other brand and way above Kitchen Aid. Not sure what we are going to do now.
I took a good look at adorable Natasha. I love her braids and this wig, but will she have some cute red bows at the end of her braids? Or maybe silver? I know that Jeanne is done with the dress, but it seems like the purse isn’t tying in with the dress much. Perhaps, if the black accent was the same color as the purse? I’m not sure about the black even without the purse. I wonder how red as an accent would look? I know, picky, picky, but perhaps it needs silver accent ribbon on the lace, which would tie in the tights, and a sweet very tiny beaded silver bracelet with a small jingle bell charm? For whatever reason, I don’t find the purse fitting in with the outfit. I do like the photos of the outfit without the purse a lot. 🙂 It’s a sweet dress and some LD is going to be thrilled.
We did make it to Target yesterday. I noticed in the bins at the front that they had some cute doll sized tote bags and backpacks. I ended up with a pair of striped long Christmas socks. Not for me, but thinking of trying to make some doll socks for a little elf outfit I’m considering. We’ll see.
Keep warm everyone. We’re getting very dry and have no rain expected here until maybe after the fifteenth. Not good.
Joy, I wish I could send you some of our rain! We got an inch here in the Seattle area just today, and it’s projected to rain All. Week. Long. Ugh. We are in the middle of two atmospheric rivers, and some lowland areas, particularly near rivers, are starting to flood.
MY, my, isn’t Natasha a particular little miss? There is only one box she mustn’t know about yet and won’t be happy to have it checked off. “Now take that all off Natasha, I’m selling it to another dolly”. Check! Natasha stomps her foot and dissolves into tears and mommy Jeanne runs to placate her with cookies, candy, and a toy from the toy box. Such is the life of dolly daughters whose mothers sew for others instead. LOL
I’m happy you had a nice visit with Rebecca and Karn. Wow, a whole year is a long time. I hope they don’t wait so long next time.
Very cold here in the 20’s this morning with a breeze. Brrr freeze!! I always warm up the wet kitty food before I take it outside. Then the heated mat keeps it as well as the water at a nice temperature and the heated houses make for perfect sleeping spots.
Love your Natasha story. 🙂 How thoughtful of you to heat up the kitty food. I can’t do that in the microwave as I have metal bowls that I use for Callie Cat. If I ever get to a thrift store, maybe I can find something else to use. We don’t have any outdoor electric plugs on the front porch, so heating isn’t an option there. But then, it usually doesn’t get as cold here as in Ohio. Callie Cat is on the bench nestled in the fluffy pink blanket I have out for her. Still only 48 right now.
Dear Jeanne, the dress looks so pretty. Natasha has a great eye for fashion.
