Hi everyone,
Someone was VERY BLESSED to receive not ONE, not TWO, but THREE new dolls! Read her story below…
Hi Jeanne,
I’d love to share my latest dolls with the Sofa Sisters. I really needed a major pick me up this birthday and I did to the nines.
So here it is – The Great Doll Splurge (aka The Doll Birthday Haul)!
š¹ššØšš
I treated myself royalty (literally) for my birthday this year to not one, not two, but three new dolls. First is the LE (Limited Edition) Rapunzel, make that two. š¹š„° The first time ever that I have wanted a doll to keep pristine to display only.
The doll on the left will remain a display doll, while the one on the right has been removed from the box and will become historical. I can see her venturing to various eras including Regency, most of the 1800’s, and on up through Edwardian. Her hair is a lovely shade of light golden blonde with lots of gorgeous highlights and the length just blows me away.
I can envision creating all sorts of amazing hairstyles. Her eyes are a cross between my Marie-Grace doll aquamarine and green-gray. The freckles are darling on the MG mold. I’m completely smitten with her and I’ve broken my nothing except PC/AG assigned historicals (even though I always rename and create my own characters), and even though she will be, with a Fairy Tale princess. ā£ļø My historical will obviously be renamed. I’m working on the final choice and I might rename the display doll as well, making her half Rapunzel/ half some royal character I dream up.
Rapunzel was always one of my top favorite fairy tale characters in my childhood fairy tale book.
I also treated myself to another Ruby Red Fashion Friend girl (Pilgrim Constance), yet to be renamed as well.
Yes, a real banner birthday doll-wise. The kitties all highly approve of the new additions since as always they’ve gotten to sniff and touch them. They all received their paw stamp of approval. š¹ā£ļø
Blessings,
Laura
Your new dolls are VERY pretty, Laura. I know you are just about in Heaven and what a VERY nice birthday you must have had. Congratulations ! We are all happy for you!
Blessings, Jeanne

Yes, that was a very unusual thing for Laura to get three new dolls all at once! Actually, it is unusual for most of us! But your dolls are just perfect, Laura, and I am so glad you have found them, since you have had quite a year, losing some of your precious fur babies.
Rapunzel is so pretty, and I am sure you will have fun with the one you are going to āplayā with! Your display doll will be just the thing to have in your bedroom, the first and last thing you see everyday, looking so pristine!
Your new RRFF doll is so cute and says āLauraā to a tee! She fits right in with your collection!
It was good to hear from Anne and Charlotte at the end of yesterdayās blog. Thank you both for your observations, and I hope you donāt have anymore health problems along the way, Anne! Charlotte, is the smoke affecting your trip?
Thank you so much, Linda! Yes, unusual to have three at once, but then again I’ve gone many years (as many as seven with no new dolls at all and also years with no new doll clothing/accessories purchases).
Thank you for your kind comments on them. I am enjoying them very much!
Dear Laura, how wonderful for you and Happy Birthday! I hope you have many adventures in the past and in fairytale land with your new “daughters.”
Thank you so much, dear Dorothy! I am sure I will.
Dear Jeanne, how can we have almost completed our first week in June? I feel like we are in some kind of time warp speed up, like on Star Trek (smile).
I hope you have a lovely time with your sisters. I look forward tor reading about the fun you will create.
Dorothy, I completely agree. Time just flies.
Happy Birthday to you dear Laura! Three new dolls is wonderful and well deserved. I know you have plenty of love for your new additions! At least one Rapunzel will stay in her box and not get involved in shenanigans and mischief.
They are beautiful!
Jeanne, this is the perfect post for today.
Happy Friday dear friends.
Yes, it is so good to hear from Anne and Charlotte. Enjoy your week-end everyone
Thank you so much, dear Rosemary! I love your comment ” not get involved in shenanigans and mischief”. I appreciate your kind comments.
What? It’s Friday? Can’t believe where the week has gone. Just whizzed right on by.
Oh Laura, your latest girls are so special. Love Rapunzel and of course sweet Constance. Very glad that the kitties have given their paws of approval. š It’s great to have a birthday.
We have fog this morning, so it’s cool, but the heat will increase as the day continues. I haven’t done a thing towards the Sew Along and there is already another pattern I need to reduce and print. Still puzzled as to how to get a printed page of designs transferred to my machine. Although this week, the author does have a download. However, my computer doesn’t want to comply. It’s Dropbox, and I don’t have it. Before giving up, I spent some time trying to find fabric with birds from the Greek/Roman/South American themes. Found a few that I liked on Etsy, but with shipping for a small amount, unreasonable and it wouldn’t even arrive for at least a week or more. So, I decided to make something completely off the theme and nothing like what others are turning out so nicely. We’ll see how it goes. At least it takes my mind away from weeding. Ha ha!
Jeanne should be off on another adventure with her sisters. Have a great weekend everyone.
Thank you so much, Joy! My birthday was back in May (May 23) , but then Jeanne’s blog went down so the sharing had to wait.
I appreciate your sweet comments so much.
Are you doing Wren*Feathers sew along? I always enjoy reading her posts. The bodice design looks like it would work well for Kirsten also with the birds and flowers. I hope you’ll share your completed projects.
Yes, Wren Feathers Sew Along. You can see all the finished dresses on MeWe. Most are amazing.
Thank you so much, Jeanne! I appreciate you kind words and allowing me to share. I hope you’re having a fantastic time with your sisters.
Laura, your dolls are wonderful! How smart of you to save one that is so amazing, and it will keep that fabulous hair from getting messed up! I love the little Constance, she is lovely. What a great happy birthday and the cats think you did well, too!
We have been having such hard rains, but today is hot and humid, no rain. I need to go out and spray my flowers as the rain has washed off all the “Deer Out” . They have only nibbled on my hydrangeas once.
Jeanne, wishes for good weather and great times with your sisters. Looking forward to photos.
Have a great weekend every one!
Sissy, you have deer problems too? I have a yard full of lilies and they seem to love eating the buds before they even flower! I never heard of Deer Out, at least not in this part of the country, but we use a product called Liquid Fence, which is a deer and rabbit deterrent, so I guess pretty much the same kind of thing. It smells terrible! But it stays on after several rains, so you donāt have to redo every time it rains, which is quite often here!
We have flower eating deer too! They ate every pansy this past winter, even the plants in pots on our front porch. I just planted hydrangeas this spring. They havenāt bloomed yet but I will try Deer Out.
Thank you so much, Sissy! This is the first time ever I felt the need to have two of the same doll. I just knew I would take her out of the box and do 1800s and some 1900s hairstyles or redress her if I didn’t. I had to have one whose hair stayed pristine.
Constance was a dark horse to me at first, but she grew on my more and more over the past year. I find her to be just gorgeous and was so glad to find a one still available and a sale when I was ready to buy.
So happy to see things back to normal in Jeanneās world. Hoping the fix lasts for awhile. I am also very dependent on checking in the first thing everyday.
We have also been on a trip so I have not been keeping up regularly. I did go back and read Thursdayās posts so I gathered that Charlotte is visiting Michigan, Anne is visiting her brother in the UK (that is quite a journey!), and Jeanne is visiting Cindy who has a new puppy. I know there will be pictures coming. Anne do take care of that cold.
We have finally visited Wilmington, NC. It is only a 2 hour drive but it has taken us 3 years to get there. š¤¦āāļø We like the ocean but not sitting in the sun all day like we did when we were young. There was the right amount of history, gardens, and food to keep us interested. We miss the seafood that we took for granted all those years we lived in Louisiana.
Happy Belated Birthday Laura! Those are some beauties that you gifted to yourself. I am glad to hear the kitties approve. I still miss our Kitty who lived to 19. She has been gone 10 years but I think of her everyday. She really stole our hearts.
Happy weekend to all!
Thank you so much, Debbie! Yes, the kitties must approve for new dolls to come to live here. LOL
Yes, all pets are most precious!!
I’m glad you’re having a fun vacation. We had friends when I was a child who lived in NC many years ago, He was at in the Navy at Camp Lejeune. I’ve been to Ashville, The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and some beach. Wish we could have gone to Raleigh.
Laura, your new dolls are just wonderful. What gorgeous hair they all have, too! I agree about Constance, at first I wasn’t a big fan, but she’s kind of growing on me, too.
Thus far the smoke hasn’t much affected us here. I’m in Flint, which is kind of the middle of the lower peninsula. I guess it’s been quite a problem in the U.P. at times, though.
Today we went over to Cracker Barrel, both for lunch and so I could shop. Our nearest Cracker Barrel is over in Idaho (none in Washington state, and I don’t think in Oregon, either), and I’m not going to drive 4+ hours over mountains just to go there for a meal! I kind of surprised myself by buying a dress in their gift shop. I’ve gotten some really cute things in their stores at other times I/we have visited, including my favorite fleece jacket which is probably well over 20 years old now. Tomorrow we’re going to a Viking (sewing machine) event at All Sews–they are having demos, free make-and-takes, and other stuff. Hard to believe that will be my last full day here. On Sunday June and Jerry will take me to my uncle’s place in Jackson for his celebration of life, and then from there I go to a cousin’s in the Detroit area. My vacation is half over!! š¢
Dear Charlotte, I am so happy that you are enjoying your vacation. Your namesake, the little imp, Charlotte Noelle, says to tell you that to have a “real” vacation, you have to eat ice cream. I have no idea from where these ideas come. I have decided not to ask her, though, because I am afraid to hear the answer (laugh). Safe travels!
Charlotte, I am so glad you got to a Cracker Barrel. We go to them quite often here in GA. I love to shop there but to me, the clothes are not as nice as they used to be. I am glad you found a nice dress. I too have a fleece jacket I bought there and I have worn for more years I can count. It is dark blue with American flags and white stars on it. When I wash it is like new.
I am glad you haven’t had too much smoke. Hope the rest of your trip is good and have a safe trip home.
