Hi everyone,
My listing isn’t the way I like them, but it will do for now. Maybe Rebecca can find something for me that will work.
I waited all day for Ebay to call me back, which the girl who helped(?) me yesterday, said they would. At 5:15 I decided to call them again and first I had to go through all the GPT Chat to describe your problem to see if they can solve it for you. After going in circles for 5 minutes, typing the same thing over and over again, I just typed in the message box. I NEED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE IN PERSON! MY PROBLEM CAN’T BE SOLVED WITH A ROBOT!” The next thing I knew, I got a message that Ebay would call me back in 9 minutes. And, I was almost sure of what they were going to say, they could not find any trace of my lising… there was no Auction number that showed it had ever been listed. So after some talk and trying to appease me, the girl (a different one than the one who DELETED my listing) told me I would have to just start over and make the listing again. No sorry, no apology, nothing… So, I started again using the only way available to me right now, and THIS time I’d type a paragraph and then take a picture of it with my phone… in case something happened, I would at least be able to copy what I had the first time.
When I got to the part that wasn’t working yesterday, the place where you have to pick if you want your listing to be an Auction and run for a few days or a Buy It Now, where you set a certain price and when someone buys it, it’s over, it was working! The places where they were gray yesterday and non functioning, were working today. Who knows what happened yesterday…Anyway, I listed it on Ebay, and the pictures are all at the left side, but there are 23 of them, and the description of the pieces are all written below the pictures.
We’ll see what happens now. So… I went to my blog to write this post and when I got ready to start typing, my website updated and everything changed. It now has blue everywhere and when I tried to put a picture at the right sidebar like I usually do when I have a new listing on Ebay, it only showed a LARGE picture… as BIG as my COMPUTER screen, instead of the small pictures like you see at the side right now. I’m not sure what is going on with that. I’ll have to show the picture I took to Sarah and see if she can help me with that.
For right now, I’ll only be able to put a link for the listing here in the writing… and you’ll have to click on that.
Then I got the mail and some hot pink stretch lace arrived. A lady who has bought many many lace fingerless gloves from me wanted a pair of evening gown gloves and a shorter pair in hot pink. I searched and searched and finally found one seller on Etsy who wasn’t selling 10 yards of her lace for $12-14, or 25 yards for $35. It was crazy finding someone who only sold in one yard lengths. I finally found a lady and the lace came pretty quickly… As I looked at the lace through the clear wrapper, it didn’t look like 2.5″ wide lace…and I was right… it’s only 2″ wide. So, I messaged her and she checked and said she doesn’t have anymore 2.5″ wide hot pink lace… and did I want a refund? I said no, and began searching again… now I have to ask my customer if 2″ wide will work… .
Okay, I’m going to stop talking… I sound like I’m whining… which I’m trying not to.
Here’s something fun Joy sent to me… Books about Jeanne Marie! Wait till you see these! Has anyone ever seen them? I never knew about them… and they are so cute!
Marilyn’s sister, Janeane (Janine) went to Ireland with her husband and sent these pictures to Marilyn and Marilyn thought you all might like to see them. In the subject line Marilyn titled this… Blarney Castle, so maybe that’s its name. The pictures are very beautiful and her sister said it was cooler than they expected. She thought May would be a good month for the flowers. Marilyn said to make sure you look at the Pterodactyl.
I guess this is Ireland’s version of the Missouri Botanical Gardens! :o) It looks beautiful Marilyn! Have you ever been there?
Well, I think this is enough for today…
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Lots to talk about in today’s blog!
I’m glad you were able to get that set listed on ebay, even if it couldn’t be the way we are all used to. It’s a wonderful set, and has enough to take care of dolly’s summertime needs! The listing looks nice, even if not as we are used to seeing it.
I’m sorry the pink lace wasn’t quite wide enough for those fingerless gloves.Might you be able to find something in a narrower lace that you could add to thewider? Just some random thoughts….
You know, those books, especially the first two, look extremely familiar. I’m pretty sure I read them when I was a child! Of course, I’m OLD.
Marilyn, please do convey our thanks to your sister for sharing those pictures of the Blarney Castle grounds. Everything is just as lovely as it could be!
Marilyn, make sure to thank your sister for sharing.
Well, I’m not sure how I managed to get that last partial sentence added to the bottom of my post, when I already said it in the above paragraph. Sorry about that! Maybe Jeanne can work her magic and remove it in the morning. As for me, it’s time for bed!
I guess Murphy’s Law comes often enough for days like this! It’s frustrating enough when one thing doesn’t go to plan, but then adding another thing sure doesn’t help! So sorry about the pink lace not being what you ordered, Jeanne, and I hope something can be worked out. I know that you always aim to please your customers, and you certainly do! Just look at your feedback, and see what I mean!
The listing is pretty good, not what we are used to, but it works just fine, and I think people can see very well what they would be bidding on.
Marilyn, those pictures are just gorgeous! I’m jealous (in a good way), and would loved to have gone along with Janeane! It looks like spring is not quite as far as we are here in St. Louis, as our azaleas are long gone now, but theirs seem to be at peak. Thank you for sending these, and to Jeanne for showing us.
That little book is really cute and looks familiar to me somehow. I wonder when the book was published.
I wish we could correct our comments without having to add another comment to do it! I make way too many mistakes and push the “comment” button faster than I should!
Good morning Jeanne Marie 🥰 and dear sisters.
Jeanne, the listing looks beautiful.
What happened to eBay? Wasn’t your selling page much prettier before? or am I misremembering?
The photos you provided are so cute!
The lace. Why didn’t the seller tell you she was sending 2″ before she mailed it? This is kind of odd.
What started out last week as a severe shock from photo hosting has devolved into eBay incompetence with a shaky bearing, and now the lace mistake. Whaaaat?
Charlotte, you suggest a great option of extending. I like that idea.
These books do look familiar. I recall Françoise Seignobosc. Wow, these are treasures. We lived in a different time back then. Nice stories.
Thank you Joy for discovering these books and sharing them. Brilliant! The artistry is precious. …. 😂 okay, as my dutch mom would say “Doze werrre da dayz”
Marilyn, thank you for sending these photos of Ireland. Incredible beauty.
At first I thought that might be a real Heron/Egret in the garden… or a Crane?
But then I saw the Pterodactyl, so those are some very beautiful statues.
Exceptional photos!
Yesterday evening we had an unusual occurrence – a thunder storm with buckets of rain… for hours! All of it was much appreciated by me.
Northern Virginia has been so dry.
I hope all of you have a productive day. I am gonna try.
Jeanne, the listing is adorable. You make the cutest scenes
Rosemary, the way I understand it, it was the photo hosting that made all the ebay listings look so pretty before, with close-ups of the fabric used on either side of the panel, and captions between the photos. Since that was lost, her listings are like regular, standard listings now.
Oh, the frustration. So sorry that Jeanne, had to lose the photo service and then have the Bay act up as well. But very glad that the listing took this time. Perhaps, Ebay needs a bill for your time spent on this listing? It looks just fine to me. As a buyer, all I like are clear photos and good descriptions. So this works beautifully for me. Now, as to why Word Press won’t accept your side photo/listing, not a clue other than I would be livid as you are paying for their service. Maybe call them? Shouldn’t they be the ones to figure it out? And then, the wrong lace appears. Now, that would have put me over the edge. Sorry about that. I sure hope that some fun comes Jeanne’s way today. Has George started feeling better? Sure hope so. Please tell him that we have one new tomato cage done, but two more to go. The poor tomatoes are still sitting in their Costco pots and can’t wait to be put into the ground. And I need to get my seeds planted too. So late yet again.
I loved seeing the photos that Marilyn’s sister took. Nice to see something from another of my native homelands. I didn’t expect to see the rhodie’s aka rhododendrons in bloom as ours on the north coast here peaked some time ago. Even with the rain/cold the gardens are lovely. Thanks, Jeanne, Marilyn, and sis for sharing.
Yesterday, I was a very cautious gardener and didn’t try pulling any tenacious weeds. Learned my lesson. But, I did get a lot cleared around the raised beds with the help of Callie Cat. It looks like more hot weather here until the weekend when it will be cool. Not so great for those Memorial Day gatherings on Monday, though. I need to pick up some flowers for the family row at the cemetery. The busy list keeps growing. And maybe I’ll even find time to open my latest who is still languishing in her shipper.
I was okay with the listing because it is what I’m used to seeing when I’m searching on eBay. Yours before was extra special and I hope you can find something like it again but seeing it the way it is was not awkward.
Marilyn, please thank your sister for the wonderful pictures and thanks for sending them on to Jeanne, and thanks Jeanne for posting them. I never made it to Ireland when I was over there but did do England and Wales. We went from the middle of May to the Middle of June and I remember it being quite cool and wet, and a lot of things were not open yet. We camped at a campground in Wales that was open for camping but the restrooms were not open. The woman that owned the campground was really wonderful and she made an extra effort to clean the restrooms so we could use them and take showers. Problem was there was no hot water. I don’t remember why she couldn’t turn it on but she couldn’t and apologized for that. It may have been because it was still the off season and it was not financially feasible to turn it on when so few would be using it. It was about 35 degrees and we were taking cold showers. Very invigorating. The best time for visiting the UK according to my friend who lives in Scotland is September. The weather is usually lovely and the rainy season is over. That’s the month for weddings in Scotland. But that’s the time most people go so you would have to deal with the crowds.
I have never seen or even heard of the “Jeanne” books. They look wonderful.
How frustrating that the lace you ordered was not what you thought you were getting. Hopefully there will be a good solution to the problem. It is lovely lace and the color is very pretty.
I missed finding the time to get on here yesterday. Elizabeth, I just wanted to tell you that your equestrian creation was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed seeing all of the details. That horse dress was super cute and the wardrobe makeover as well as the riding outfit and saddle. I’m sure your daughter was beyond thrilled.
So sorry about your mishap with the weed, Joy. I’ve landed on my bottom before doing the same thing.
What a lovely trip your sister had, Marilyn. I’ve seen Blarney Castle featured in my favorite magazine before. The gardens are gorgeous!
Glad you got your listing running, Jeanne, even if things aren’t the same. It looks like all the other eBay listings I’m used to seeing.
I forgot to mention that the books that Joy sent to you are very sweet.
Oh, glad to hear that I’m not the only one having an unhappy landing while pulling weeds! 🙂
I am glad you got your listing up and running Jeanne. and your photos look great even if it isn’t quite what you are used to.
Marilyn your sister’s photos are lovely. I have never been to southern Ireland, only the North, (I spent 16 months near Belfast with the WRAC in the early 60’s before being posted to Paris). I usually go to UK at the end of May which is generally a good time for flowers. Spring can be really late sometimes though, the year my sister got married (1969) she got married on 24th May and not even the daffodils were in flower it had been such a cold spring. I got married on 17th April and the church yard was full of them in bloom. Very hit and miss in the UK in Spring.
Today, hopefully, I will get my new cooker installed. It has been sitting on my deck for 3 weeks waiting for the installer. Fortunately the deck is covered and we haven’t had any rain. If I have to get another new one it will have to be electric, I think. It is getting harder and harder to find tradesmen for gas. Especially at an affordable price. (And especially as my son doesn’t charge me when he sends one of his electricians out!)
I had never seen those books before, how interesting. It was fun seeing them. They were published not far from where I grew up as well, Leicester.
Sam has an appt at the hospital hand clinic this morning I will let you know how she gets on.
See you all tomorrow
Hoping that Sam, has good news on her finger. Interesting about the best time to visit the UK as well. Perhaps, I’ll get to visit again some day.
