I am happy to say I have completed Violettes newest outfit ensemble and it has 8 pieces… I’ll get to that in a minute, but first… some sweet and patriotic pictures from Susette and Linda! They both sent pictures and they were just too cute not to use… and perfect timing too! :o)
Susette lives in California and her girls are decked out in their red, white and blue dresses in the bright sunshine! Hanna and Bella look like they should be in the 4th of July Parade! Very sweet! Thanks Susette!
Linda’s girls are in St. Louis, Missouri, and are inside because that’s where all of the props are! :o)
The 40’s girls are going to be riding a float in the 4th of July Parade. Betsy is a little too close to the big fireworks for comfort, I think!
The 40’s modern girls are ready for the parade and Scarlett is Miss Liberty!
Thanks so much Susette and Linda!
Now, I have 2 more pieces for Violette’s newest set… This actually could have been a wonderful 4th of July set, but I didn’t get it started in time and actually never intended it to be red, white and blue, but it just “evolved” that way…
So far, I’ve shown you these pieces…
The polka dotted crop top…
The jeans…
The white linen shorts…
The light blue denim skirt…
The flip flops…
The headband…
…and now for the last two items…
A fun cropped peasant top…in that “other” blue print I started out with…
We got a nice soaking from the rain today after church and things were pretty soggy for a while. I finally ventured out with Violette to try and get a few pictures of her in this blue top…
It closes in back with snaps…
Before we came back inside, we stopped by to see the hens… they were a bit skittish!
We ventured over to the big gnarly tree trunk…
Then stopped by the Rose of Sharon, that has just started blooming!
We went back inside to show you the last item in this set. It’s a camera… just like the one Stella had in her Camouflage set… It has a little tab you can pull that activates it, so the flash goes off and it clicks!
Violette wanted to put on her white shorts so you could see the camera better…
Oh, and one more picture of her new top…
I will see you tomorrow… please be safe on the 4th!
Blessings, Jeanne
Susette, I love Hanna’s and Bella’s dresses–did you make them? And where did you get their shoes? I love that style on my girl dolls.
Linda, your girls look so festive! I remember Molly’s outfit, and I think my Betsy has the same outfit your Betsy is wearing! In the other picture, Miss Scarlett looks ready to march in a parade, and the other girls are beautifully garbed, also!!
Oh, Jeanne, I love the new crop top!! I was hoping you’d make another piece so you could use that pretty fabric. It’s absolutely perfect with all the bottoms, too!! The camera is really wonderful, and so special! Where Do you find some of these things?!!
HI Charlotte,
I like the new crop top too! Violette likes it even better than me! :o)
I found the little camera at Hobby Lobby in the jewelry section… They
are the perfect size for the RRFF dolls!
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Thanks, Jeanne! Wish I’d known that when I was in HL this afternoon. Next time!!
Jeanne, the new top is just darling! I remember wearing some like that when little, and of course, my mother made them! That material loooks so good with the whrte shorts and the jeans too! And that camera! All my dolls have AG cameras, but I am sure this one is smaller and fits so well with the RRFF dolls, plus it looks so real! This set is going to be great for those who have several RRFF dolls to dress!
Susette, your dolls look darling in their patriotic dresses! I’m sure they are happy to see some sunshine instead of clouds! Your pictures are always so sharp and clear!
Thank you Charlotte! I managed to get all three of AG’s 40’s tap outfits, but don’t have one in those colors for Betsy, so she is wearing her Robert Tonner sailor dress, which has the perfect colors.
My modern girls are just in red, white and blue, plus Scarlett is wearing AG’s Jazz Outfit, but the hat is something I added for the 4th.
Dear Linda, your girls look so sweet in their outfits.
Three cheers for the red, white, and blue!
Thank you so much, Dorothy in PA and the World!
Thank YOU, Linda, for sharing your pictures of the girls dressed up for the 4th! They look very patriotic!
Blessings, Jeanne
LInda, I remember wearing tops like that, too, when I was a kid. We called them Midriff Tops. I had a white one, and I think an aqua one, but they were purchased. Mom did make a lot of my other clothes, though.
Dear Jeanne, Violette looks adorable in every outfit. She has such a sweet face.
Thanks for sharing photos of Susette and Linda’s girls. They are helping us feel so festive.
HI Dorothy,
The holidays come up on me too quickly and I’m fortunate to get even one set made for that holiday… I need to start working on Christmas right now, I guess… maybe then I’d have a few dolls dressed for the season!
thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
I think the picture with the tree trunk should be your lead picture for the Ebay listing.
I’m thinking of RRFF Summer Wardrobe as a title — at least “summer” and “wardrobe” both need to be in the title — Fun Summer Wardrobe? Someone will think of a way to jazz that up.
Hi Marilyn,
The picture by the tree isn’t the clearest for a Gallery picture, but I still used it anyway…
And I was going to use your title Summer Wardrobe, but Laura suggested Snapshots of Summer and since I had that camera, I decided to use it… sorry… but I like Summer Wardrobe and will use it soon, when I make another set with lots of pieces! I think I got carried away with this set… It was fun though.
Thanks so much,
blessings, Jeanne
Hanna and Stella look adorable, Susette. Their dresses are so pretty and Stella looks ready to go sailing.
Your girls look lovely as always, Linda. I really like Betsy’s little nautical number and the pups decked out with stars. Also I really like Ruthie’s dress and her sequined crown.
Your smiling daffodil is the cutest thing ever. Where on earth did you find that< please?
Violette's floral crop top is so sweet. This whole set has so many fun combinations. Love the little camera. I have two of Kit's and it's a fun piece.
As far as a title… how about "Snapshots of Summer" taking wardrobe and camera into account.
One more thing, Linda. I, too, got that flag set with an order. The flag is so nice with the fact the stars are embroidered.
Thank you Laura! As far as the little “shelf sitter “ daffodil, she came in a set of four different flowers. I got them in a gift shop in Branson quite awhile ago, and switch them around every now and then. I have the daisy, lily, rose, and of course the daffodil. I can’t believe all the things I came home with from Branson, but then I don’t do garage sales or Goodwill!
Yes, that flag is a nice one, and well made, but it really has too many stars for the 40’s girls,….. but who is counting?😊
HI Laura,
Thanks for the title, Snapshots of Summer… That’s what I used for this set, which just went on Ebay a little bit ago…
I’m glad you like the little crop top. It was fun to add to this set.
Blessings, Jeanne
This outfit just keeps getting better and better. What a sweet little blue flowered top and it goes with everything. So many combinations my girls wouldn’t know what to wear first.
Such a wonderful picture of Suzette’s Hanna and Bella. Wonderful dresses. They look so festive and ready for the 4th of July parade.
Love Linda’s pictures of all her girls. Oh dear, another dress for Betsy to put on her wish list. Linda mentioned the 40s tap outfits. I managed to find matching tap outfits including shoes for my 18″ MA doll and my WW so they will be doing a duet tap dance at some point. Still plan on doing a recital sometime in the future. But bathing suits first and then dance costumes. I finally got a handle on how to do the stage and that’s what was holding me up on the recital.
I’m about to fire my pool contractor. I’ve got the liners finished and I’m told every day he will put the pools together for me while he watches TV in the evening, but he keeps forgetting. I bought swimsuits for my two Siblies girls and they look so cute. I dressed them in their suits and put them on a TV tray in front of hubby’s chair but he didn’t get the hint. He’s probably waiting to see more swimsuits showing up but now I have to take my sewing machine in for a tune-up before I do any more sewing. I just keep telling him the pool is already late in opening and the girls are getting antsy.
Oh, I hope you don’t have to fire the pool contractor as I really want to see the pools. 🙂 Tell him your friends are waiting impatiently to see them.
Where did you find swimsuits for the Siblies? We don’t have any here, and I know they would love some.
Thank you Barbara,
I’m glad you like this set… it was so much fun to keep adding another piece and then another one… till I finally had to stop!
I had to laugh (quietly) at your pool contractor comments… maybe you should make him some brownies and say, “this is just an advance thank you for making the girls pool!” Maybe he’ll get the idea that you want it soon… during the hot weather! :o)
Thanks Barbara,
Blessings, Jeanne
Barbara, you are so funny! If you do fire the pool contractor, then what? I guess you will be making a pool!
Thank you for the compliments! I am curious to see what tap outfits you bought for your girls, since Betsy and Emmy have none at this time. We have ballet outfits, but no tap. I would love to see pictures of yours when you get them dressed to dance. Also pool pictures would be fun to see!
Love Violette’s latest. That cute top will look so sweet with the white shorts too. Lots of fun pieces and that camera is wonderful. The girls here need one of those. Any tips on where to find one?
Susette’s girls are so cute in their RWB outfits. I’m sure the weather will be delightful for whatever they have planned. 🙂
What a great idea of Linda’s to use that RWB garland. Really shows off the girls and their fireworks. Looks like great fun they will have riding on that float. Hope the poor pup isn’t afraid of loud noises. 🙂
The modern girls and their pets are also festive. I love that navy dotted dress. Is that one AG? The style is adorable.
I had great success today smuggling Jasmine, from France, inside. We had to make a Costco, run and while there, picked up lunch and headed home. As we were almost home, I remembered about the mail aka package that was to arrive today. As we pulled into the driveway, I thought I saw the end of a box on the porch. Horrors! I literally leaped from the barely stopped car carrying my hotdog and drink with me. While other person went to the back of the car to grab his pizza slice and some detergent, I sprang up those 13 steps, and yes, there was a box on the porch more to the left near the bench. That’s why other person had not spotted it. So I used my old kick it under the bench, but couldn’t really pull down the towels for cover as other person was close behind. So, I opened the mailbox and grabbed the mail, stepping back and shielding the bench from the prying eyes of other person. He was fixated on the mail I was holding out with my free hand while he unlocked the door. Inside he went. He didn’t see the box sticking out from under the bench. Yay! Almost as soon as we were inside, other person went to wash his hands. Hungry for his pizza. So, I simply opened the front door, pulled out the box and deposited it temporarily in the doll room while he was gone. We had lunch. After lunch, other person went to hang up his jacket, and I seized the moment, grabbing the doll box and quickly carrying it across the house and placed it in the secret hiding place until I can later open the box. This was a very near miss and scary campaign. Can’t wait to see Jasmine. 🙂
Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th tomorrow.
Dear Joy, you have just made my day! I loved that you used the word “campaign.” Another victory. On to the next mission! Happy 4th.
HI Joy,
The camera in this set is from Hobby Lobby,…in the jewelry department… they really are the perfect size for the RRFF’s .
Boy, you certainly were sneaky today at getting Jasmine inside the house. As much as I love reading about your escapades, I’d really like to see a video of you kicking the box to the other end of the bench without being noticed, then slipping outside to rescue the box, only to hide it inside the door, then whisking it off the dolly room. You would make a great actress in a who done it… or who hid it movie!
Thanks for the laughs!
Blessings, Jeanne
Another close call for you, Joy! I wonder how long your luck will hold out? Hopefully a good long time!😊
Thank you for the compliments on my dolls! That dress you are mentioning, navy with white polka dots, really is navy with little white stars, not polka dots. Yes, I too love that wrap around style, and I actually got it for Molly years ago. The label sewn on it says Bon Jean Creations, and no, not “our” Jeanne! Got it off EBay, and I really don’t know if she is still in business or on .Etsy or EBay.
I love this little ensemble! The jeans are especially nice,so neat looking. I am surprised that Rose of Sharon is blooming already. In Connecticut, they don’t bloom until the end of July, early August,
Thank you Conni,
The Rose of Sharon’s get loaded down with blooms and they last quite a while… they might be the oldest bushes on our property… I love them!
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
