A sweet purple purse for Ruby Red Fashion Friend, Frieda!

First up… I received a photo from Sylvia in NH, and it’s too pretty not to use… who says Valentine’s Day pictures can’t be shown the day after… Sylvia said, this is Elizabeth in a design she made from a primitive painting she saw online. Just beautiful, Sylvia! Thank you!

I’ve got to make up my mind if I’m going to call this purple or violet… since it has violets in the fabric, I probably should stick with violet… but for today’s title, I’m keeping it purple.

This morning Kristoffer came back over to do some more work on my computer… he changed the hard drive in my computer box to a smaller more efficient and larger capacity one and transferred all my stuff from my computer onto it… Actually he did that part last night… it took 3 hours so he had to leave and that’s why he came back this morning. I was very thankful at the end of the 3 hours last night, a message came up on my screen that said, “Clone was successful!”

Today he wanted to transfer all my pictures and get some kind of organization going on them… I’m the first to admit I have LOTS of pictures and they are EVERYWHERE… Years ago, I had no idea what I was doing, so pictures were put in documents, documents were put in the picture files and nothing is in a folder… All my pictures are just in one big grouping… he did a check and I have over 2,200,000 pictures… now he did see that some were duplicates, but you should have heard his, “GOOD GRIEF, MOM!” I know, I know… I told him, but it’s what I do… I take pictures everyday and show them… and people send ME pictures and I show them.

So he gave me a job to do, but he said it will probably take me a year… (I’m hoping not…) He said I have to go through and get rid of the duplicates and the ones I don’t need anymore… It will take some time but he said if I just do a little bit each day, I’ll eventually get there… in the meantime he’s looking for a photo organizing program for me…

That took us until almost 2:00… then my hubby helped Kristoffer move some of his stuff from our garage over to his shed…I worked in my sewing room while they were gone, but didn’t get finished… When my hubby got home he wanted to go out for dinner for Valentine’s day. We went to a new Mexican restaurant we hadn’t been to, but Kristoffer recommended. It was a nice date with my honey! :o) When we got home, we watched a movie while I worked to get what I had started, finished… and I did…

It’s a purse to match Frieda’s purple/violet shoes…

I added little flowers on the front in a cluster… and did my magnetic closure again… so it just snaps shut when the front flap folds down.

I tried to be as neat as I could, but the magnet, has to be exposed, so it will stick to the other part on the purse… I used a piece of netting to expose it, and then glued the netting around it. My flower stitching shows because there is no place to hide it… I put glue on top of it to secure all the ends.

It’s wet right now… shaping it, so it has water and wet paper towel pieces inside, pushing it in shape.

Yesterday when I was in town, I found “THIS” and it was the only one, laying on a shelf… PERFECT I thought! Don’t you?

Frieda LOVED it!

It’s a good thing dolls don’t eat chocolate! :o)

I will see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Sylvia, Elizabeth’s gown is beautiful, and the entire picture is charming. Thank you for sharing!!

GOOD GRIEF, indeed, Jeanne!! Over Two MILLION pictures?!! I know I have quite a few, but not nearly that many! Good luck on the organizing! Yes, it’ll take time, but eventually it’ll be done, and you’ll be glad you did it. In the meantime, you can carefully file the new pictures as you take them, so you won’t be faced with this task again!!

Oh, my, there’s some big sighs around here over that purse that matches the shoes!! It’s just a perfect outfit, and someone is promising great things if mommy will just buy it for her!!! ๐Ÿ˜Well, we’ll see!!

Sylvia, how pretty Elizabeth looks in her new dress! YOu did a wonderful job and that setting is just beautiful! What a gorgeous display of flowers, and that cute bear! He looks like he is chocolate! Thak you for sending the picture in to Jeanne for us to enjoy!

I thnk of this outfit as violet, since purple is really dark, and this is not! But they are in the same “family”, so I guess it doesn’t matter what color you call it , Jeanne! The purse is so pretty with the flowers skipping along the flap!

That candy bar! Who wouldn’t want a life sized one? ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments about my dolls yesterday, and Ingrid, i did reply to you earlier this morning!

Sylvia’s dress with the solid and lace is beautiful. Elizabeth looks ravishing and that beautiful flower arrangement makes a lovely presentation as well. This dress would be just as pretty on Elizabeth by the Christmas tree next year. So cute. ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m going for violet on this outfit. It’s lovely, springy, and uplifting after the weather everyone has been having. Good job Jeanne.

Jeanne, I love the violet purse with the matching flowers. Can’t wait to see what is next for this lovely outfit.

Sylvia, your Elizabeth looks absolutely stunning in her lovely dress and beautiful setting. And you can put her in this dress again for Christmas photos.

By the way, the Shirley Temple doll is “Baby Take a Bow”. I know that so I have no idea why I keep putting the ‘s’ on take. I also have no idea why I felt the need to correct that, but I did. Now that I’ve taken care of that I can get on to other things. lol or as Dorothy in PA and the World would say chuckle, chuckle. By the way where is Dorothy? It seems we haven’t heard from her in a while.

Good news from this front about the AG Wellie Wisher problem. I sent an email to customer service, and they responded almost immediately. Don’t know why I didn’t get a reply when I wrote earlier but I’m glad to get one now. They will either replace the doll or if I bought it somewhere other than an AG store they will give me a gift certificate. I know I bought it at a store because I bought it the same time I got my Wellie Camille and some of my props. They said if I got it through an AG (store or online) they could find the order. I’m ready to get the process started. Thanks so much to everyone who clued me in on the fact that there was a problem. It’s easier when a manufacturer knows there is an issue.

I sure hope there is a grace period for sending Valentine photos since I just figured out how I’m going to pose my dolls and I’m missing a background piece that was supposed to be here yesterday. If not, there is always next year. Usually I’ve thought things out long in advance but somehow Valentine’s Day crept up on me unexpectedly. I realized today I hadn’t bought my grandkids anything and I usually do. So I’ll go today. As a rule they discount things the day after and keep them out a few days to see if more will sell.

Jeanne, I don’t know if this will work for you, but I, like you, have pictures everywhere on my computer and many are duplicates. I also have trouble finding a picture when I want it. I bought a flash drive called picture keeper that holds 8GB of pictures. It scans your computer and collects all the pictures, and it skips duplicates. If you need more than one flash drive you just insert a new drive and continue. Since you have so many I thought you might want to find a way to get some of them off your computer.

    1. Hi Barbara, I’m glad you can get Jaiden’s Willa replaced. Of course, we want to see your Valentine photos. My thought is as long as you do things before the next holiday, all is good. You have so many smaller dolls that are fun to see. It reminds me of a super creative lady on the doll board who makes amazing complete worlds for the PC/AG mini dolls.

Since I’m always running out of time, I agree that any time before the holiday comes around again is a good time. I love sewing for my bigger dolls and not so much for my little ones, but the little ones are easier to photograph because they take up less room on my table top. I tried posing the bigger ones all at once one time and realized I would have to do one half and then the other so they can “all be seen” per their insistence. I also realized that many of my Thomas Kinkade calendar pictures make great backdrops for photo shoots for my little dolls so I saved the pictures at the end of the year for future use. Some of the houses/cottages in those calendars are perfect for background scenery.

  5. What a gorgeous dress, Sylvia. Totally amazing you made it just by looking at a painting. I love the sleeve top detail. Elizabeth looks very regal in red.

Hi Ingrid, thank you so much for the kitty compliments. I hope your sweet furry girl had a lovely day as well.

Freida’s purse in just perfect and matches her shoes wonderfully. I was such a stickler for that in high school. The chocolate looks yummy. I seem to mimic Queen Elizabeth’s favorite chocolate biscuit cake.

When I was single and in the working world I used to coordinate my handbag with my shoes. Which usually meant that I had to change handbags every evening. Then I had children and did not have time to deal with organizing more than one handbag and a diaper bag too. I never thought of Dionne’s solution. She just merged her handbag contents into her baby’s diaper bag and only had to carry one bag.

I remember when shoes always matched the purse. ๐Ÿ™‚ Not any more for me though. ๐Ÿ™‚
