Just a few Antique shopping pictures…

DON’T FORGET: Tonight is the big night when Addy/Rebecca’s dress ends on Ebay. There has been enormous interest in this set and I think I know why! It would be BEAUTIFUL on just about any doll. In fact, I think it would look lovely on Kirsten… I think a capelet would be perfect for a little Swedish gal, don’t you? So maybe I’ll see you at the finish line on Ebay this evening! Don’t fall asleep waiting to see what happens! :o) You can get to the listing on Ebay by clicking the picture of Addy at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I’m so happy everyone loved seeing the laces Kathie sent my way. They have their very own drawer in my new 21 drawer chest! :o) I have big plans for several of them, but they will have to be put on hold for a little while…

The man who asked me to alter those night shirts for his wife?… he was actually my pastor… and early this morning, his wife passed away. He is heartbroken, as are his 3 boys, but he is grateful she isn’t suffering here anymore and is now in the loving arms of Jesus. She was the sweetest woman who will be greatly missed. She taught the younger kids Children’s Church and absolutely loved it and she’ll leave a big hole in a lot of lives! Please keep Bruce and David, Daniel and Josh in your prayers!

I was asked to help with the food after the service, so my time devoted to this blog will be a bit limited in the coming days as I have lots of other things going as well. I will work on getting things organized and figured out, but I’ll still be here… and will try to keep up with things… on days that I can’t manage to get a post written… I will open up the posts for you all to share and chat with each other…

I didn’t get much done today, but here are a few pictures of a trip to an antique mall my hubby and I went to about 2 weeks ago… if you click on the pictures, they will enlarge… then you can see everything better. :o)

I was thinking Rebecca might like this purse.. she loves all things having to do with bulls or cows! :o)

I think we saw 4 or 5 of these harp tables…

Here was a Barbie who was operating the phone board… she even had headphones on… EEK… $79!

I saw this Roadmaster bicycle that looked to be about the right size for some of the dolls we all sew for or collect… It was really detailed…

Well, I hope that gives you enough to get your dolly fix in for the day…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, Jeanne, I am so very sorry about the loss of your pastor’s wife. I will definitely keep him and the family–andthe congregation–in my prayers. What a blessing to know they will see her again some day!

It was fun to look at your pictures…I recognized a few things here and there! I thought that the painted dresser (5th picture) was pretty, and would be fun for a young girl’s room.

That little bicycle was wonderful, and would definitely make a nice prop for some dolls!

I did a bit of driving yesterday (yay!) and spent much of last night and today catching up on sleep–a total of about 11 hours, I think! PT starts Monday.

Oh Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear of your pastor’s wife passing away. Death is always hard no matter what time of the year, but when it happens during the holiday’s, when everyone is happily celebrating and anticipating Christmas, it is especially hard to go through. Oh yes, we understand that you will be helping out with the funeral dinner. Our church doesn that too, and it is a wonderful way to give support to the grieving family. Thank you for doing that.

I can’t imagine going through these antique shops and not finding somethng to take home, which is why I rarely go to them! But it’s always fun,to go through them, and it’s like a trip down memory lane for me!

That purse looks brand new, and I wonder if you got it for Rebecca. She would be thrilled!

The Barbie is a hoot, but that miniature bicycle is the winner! Who wouldn’t love that for their dolls? I have Molly’s bike, and I have yet to see anything comparable, but this one takes the cake! Of course, I don’t really know the size, but I am thinking it is more for RRFF dolls?

Good luck on the auction tonight! That is a darling set, and yes, it could be a sweet outfit for Kirsten! Really, any doll could wear this. For the modern dolls, it could be a costume for the Christmas concert at school! So many options!

So sorry to hear of the death of a well thought of member of your church. Please get some help with the food organizing. Such a difficult time.
I’m sure there will be a rush on the Christmas dress auction tonight. It is so special.
I love Barbie the phone operator. What a kick. I wonder if the piece actually worked at some point? The bike looks like it is about the same size as the 1/6 Xonex bikes. Don’t know for sure. The 1/6 size is great for smaller dolls like 10″ Ann Estelle, but too small for the Ruby Reds I think. I would love to see the AG bike Linda has for Molly. Maybe it will appear as a Christmas gift this year near the tree for her? 🙂 It’s funny, but I recognize the foot caps on that harp table. Someone in my family must have had them on a table. Not the harp part, but another table. Can’t remember the table, only the feet. Maybe an early 50’s thing when I was crawling around? 🙂
    Take care everyone.

Dear Jeanne, sending blessings to your pastor, his family, and the congregation.

You always find the best things at thrift stores!

Barbie is certainly working hard for Ma Bell (laugh). I love the yellow boots.
