Ruby Red Fashion Friend’s Flip Flops and Little Darling’s Sandals…

Hi everyone,
I am finally ready to show you my flip flops for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends 14.5″ dolls and my sandals for the Dianna Effner Little Darlings 13″ dolls. (Someone asked if the sandals for the Little Darlings fit the 14″ Betsy McCall dolls… and they do… I am showing them on both dolls feet…

This is the way it will work… I am giving you, my wonderful subscribers, first dibs on the shoes shown today. They are $18 each and both kinds are made with real leather for the soles. The shipping will be free to the lower 48 United States. If you see something you would like, just leave a comment or send me an email with the number OR letter and maybe a brief description just to make sure I see the same shoe you do. :o)

I’m sure there will be some duplicates wanted, so I’ll deal with that… I do have MOST of the trims available for a few more pairs BUT I only have enough trim of the white with red lady bugs for possibly 3 more pair… I was given that trim, so I’m not sure it is available anywhere. When you are finished picking the ones you like, you can let me know and I will send you a Paypal invoice, but I’ll need your paypal address… and then your address. You can send that to me in an email. (If you have bought from me before and would rather send a check, that’s fine too..)

What doesn’t get grabbed up today will be listed in my Etsy shop. But I’m not sure I can get them listed on Friday as I’m working at the Food Pantry…I’ll try.

I’m trying to think if I have thought of everything…

I guess we’ll just get started… My pictures can be enlarged if you click on them.

These are the Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls that can wear these flip flops…

Here is a picture of the dozen pairs I have made up…

…and some closer pictures of them…

NOW for the Sandals for the Dianna Effner 13″ Little Darlings and 14″ Betsy McCall… (I think Betsy is 14″ tall)

I started putting a fabric bottom on top of the leather soles to make it look neater around the edges, but on a few you can see where the glue soaked through and on number 3, the leather was scratched, so I tried to fix it but ended up just scratching the whole bottom sole. I might be able to sand it and make that look better, but again, it’s on the bottom.

#8 is a hot pink with black polka dots… it might look differently on your monitor.
#9 is made from a silver glittery stretch elastic… it only has a heel band.

The sandals are easy to put on… criss cross the elastic bands so the longer one is on the outside of the shorter one… (you CAN do it either way, but this way is easier to pull the band up over your dolls heel.)

Slip your dolls toes in the middle of that criss cross…

Push her foot all the way forward…

…and pull up the longer band over her heel…

Well, that’s it… let me know if you see something your girls would like! :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oooohhh!!! I think I get to be first tonight!! (Although sometimes another comment shows up before mine, when I go back and read it later on.)

I have sent you an email with my order, Jeanne. There are big cheers from the dollies tonight (they Should be in bed!! 😉) but a little disappointment, too, because we are not going to be getting one pair for each of them (that would be 7 LDs and 5 RRFFs)!! Frankly, my LDs already have lots of shoes, but…. we have to have at least a couple of pair to share around….

I have always loved shoes (you can tell by looking in my closet and under my bed!! LOL). I always say it’s because I have such tiny feet that are hard to fit, when I Do find something that fits, I “buy it in every color”!! 😁 And then there was the first 10 years of my life, which I spent in UGGGGLLLLY corrective shoes. Plus, I sew, but I can’t make shoes. So there…three good reasons to buy shoes!!

Dear Jeanne, the sandals are lovely. I am sure that many little dollies are staring at their Mama’s computer screens and pointing at the ones they want.

UFDC is having a celebration of World Doll Day on Saturday, June 25 at 1 pm CT. There is a Zoom link on the website. I am assuming that the program is open to the public. I will place the link below.

I just learned that the Madame Alexander Doll Club is having its 2023 convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am hoping to attend.

The sandals are perfect for summer doll feet! I see 33 watchers for Lian’s Fireworks Frenzy. Wishing you an amazing auction finish. Good to hear that George is moving around, but not driving around just yet. Hang in there Jeanne!

Laura, I love all the details you included with your AG displays. That beach scene is too cute! Coconut seems to be enjoying himself too. I remember Playmobil but did not think to repurpose them with current dolls. I let all those wonderful toys go when my children decided there would be no grandchildren in my future.

Charlotte, all good reasons to indulge in shoes, and the size doesn’t change with the waistline : )

Dorothy, thank you for the UFDC link. I believe this is a 100th anniversary for Madame Alexander. There should be some nice convention dolls to commemorate.

Thank you for your kind comments, Debbie. I let my daughter decide which toys to keep and toss when she was a teen. I wish I had hung on to some that left, but hindsight is 20/20.

I looked up Madame Alexander and the 100th anniversary will be next year. That’s really neat as my first and second dolls were MA’s My first I’m unsure of her name as she’s like Little Huggums except with vinyl arms and legs and a closed mouth. My second is a brunette Pussy Cat doll and my mom still has her Maggie and Walking ones.

Hi Laura, I think you were fortunate to have Madame Alexander’s that you could cuddle and play with. My childhood Madame Alexander’s were shelf dolls, an 8 inch nursery rhyme doll and a beautiful, but untouchable Elise bride doll. Both of those went in the estate sale with my children’s toys.

You and Linda inspired me to purchase an AG Emily doll to add to my collection. I hope that she is one of the earlier ones but I can’t tell from the photos. I took a chance on this one.

What a darling array of sandals, Jeanne! I am the one who asked if they fit Betsy, and I see that they do! I think Betsy will be clambering for a pair……or two!

I’m a bit late today, had to spend my morning at the laundromat, first time in 50 or so years! I’m sure this is no surprise, but the cost has gone up to do a load of wash!☺️ Our washer went out last week, so we bought a new one, along with a dryer, but the truck broke down that was delivering them, and we got bumped to next week for delivery, instead of this past Wednesday! So we were running out of clothes, no surprise there!

Charlotte, I sympathize with you on finding shoes in your size. My problem is exactly opposite, try finding size 9 1/2 ! Maybe a few ugly things, but hardly anything I like, and if I find one, it is usually the only pair in that size. We all have our problems, I guess!

I have been totally enjoying all the wonderful doll photos but have been reading the blog late at night so I haven’t been commenting. Thanks so much Jeanne for posting them and thanks to everyone who has sent their pictures. They are delightful.

Much going on around here that seems to keep me distracted. I’m used to having my house to myself during the day but since all the remodeling and new driveway construction is at the house, I have constant traffic through during the day for one reason or the other and they always want to chat. Don’t blame them. It’s a way to stay in the A/C a little longer.

In addition, we decided to sell our Kansas farm property. The kids say they’re not interested in inheriting it so we decided selling it and using some of the money to begin developing our property here would be advantageous to everyone. We are in the midst of finalizing the sale of a couple pieces so that has been occupying my time.

Today Skyy and Jaiden are here. They come every Friday when they don’t have other things to do like Vacation Bible School and Skyy goes to church camp next week. Jaiden didn’t want to go. From Monday thru Thursday they help their mother babysit two little ones and take care of their little brother, so it’s a day off for them. We get snow cones after lunch and then go to the pool later. Right now they are watching their cartoons until I finish this.

I will be checking out and hopefully getting some shoes for my girls. I have been doing some sewing – a couple 4th of July outfits. And I’m still working on organizing pictures.

So glad to hear George is pretty much up and around. I know David was glad when he felt more able to get around. Sitting in a chair watching the telly is not his idea of a fun day. He would have been fine if they hadn’t manipulated the knee that was healing when they did the second surgery. It was like having both knees done at the same time. Prayers for George’s continued healing.

The sandals and flip flops look very nice!

I wanted to thank everyone who is praying for us. Yesterday my husband settled it with the school that our daughter will not be skipping into fourth grade at this point, of which I am greatly relieved. Today is my birthday (feast of St. John the Baptist’s birthday). It was the best birthday present I could have gotten. If you would like to continue praying for our family to heal from this huge trial, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

    1. Happy Birthday 🎈🎂🎉🎁🎊 Karen!

I am grateful that just in time for your birthday God took that cross off yours and your family’s shoulder’s!

    2. Linda in St. Louis

Happy Birthday Karen! You certainly did make the right choice for your daughter, especially since she didn’t want to move up a grade. Now enjoy your day and have a great summer, stress free!

      1. Karen from Kentucky

Thank you very much, Linda! There was a priest here who when he was a child (about 2nd grade) gave up ice cream with his brother for the conversion of their father. I think he was a Muslim. He did convert to Catholicism. I think my daughter was inspired by him because she has been giving up sugar so she wouldn’t have to skip along with a few other intentions. I am impressed with her perseverance.
May you have a great summer as well!

    3. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Karen, thank you for the update. I have been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so.

Dear Dorothy in PA and the World, Thank you so much for all your prayers! I truly appreciate them. I believe that prayer changes things. May God reward your generosity towards us! <3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Karen! 🎂 Such wonderful news. I’m sure that you and your daughter are most relieved. I hope you have a relaxing summer.

      1. Karen from Kentucky

Dear Laura, Thank you very much! Yes, we are, although I think it will be a while before the tension all disappears. May you have a peaceful summer as well! <3

  7. Hello Jeanne,
I am glad your husband is feeling a little better day by day. Soon things will be back to normal, I’m sure!😊
You have beautiful doll sandals 🩴 listed here and I would sure like to support your business but I’m afraid that I don’t have a RRFF or a LD that will fit those shoes 👠 Here there are mostly AG dolls! But if I ever do aquire a RRFF which, who knows maybe it will happen, then I know who to contact when summer weather comes around! Thanks SO Much!

      Hi Lauren,
I didn’t see that you had posted as I was writing my comment to your or perhaps we were writing at the same time.. As I said below, I would love to know what AGs besides Marie-Grace you have? I’m always curious who everyone chooses of the PC/AG dolls. Besides the three you saw I also have a PC first issue 1991 Felicity and a PC Samantha. I also thought the RRFFs wouldn’t get me , but I ended up falling for Anaelle when she was available. Her pretty eye color and those hair tendrils were too much to resist. She’s my dresser display doll.

  8. First from yesterday I wanted to thank Lauren for her kind comments on my doll scenes. It’s so nice to have you join us here on the sofa. I’m happy to hear you have a Marie-Grace as well. I just love her sweet face and those hair tendrils. I think she’s very much underappreciated in her original state. although I have seen some lovely customs. I’d love to know what other PC/AG dolls you have.

Thank you also, Kathie, for you kind comments. I’m glad you enjoyed my scenes.

All the sandals and flip flops are adorable. Many LDs and Rubies will be very happy.

  9. Kathie from Omaha

I just can’t believe you got all those shoes finished while doing all your other chores and being a Nurse! Darling combinations and fun colors.
Working outside on flowers and veggies. Cukes finally are taking off and some good growth on tomatoes. The blueberries are about a third of what they were last year. Not sure why they aren’t bearing as well this year.
