Sorry…no post today…

I’m just a bit under the weather, so I’m going to have to pass on a post today…

Maybe someone can throw out a question and you can all chat with each other.

Hopefully, I’ll be back tomorrow!!

Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, Jeanne, I’m sorry you’re not feeling good. Take care of yourself, and get completely well! We’ll be fine here, chatting among ourselves, until you’re up to joining us again.

I enjoyed reading the comments on where my (and Joy’s) dolls might be. Fortunately FedEx has detailed tracking, and here’s what I found out about my Frieda and her travels:

She spent four whole days in the FedEx terminal in Juliet, TN, before finally getting to move again (I’m sure she was bored silly…not much to do when you’re shut up in a box!). Then she passed thru Mt. Vernon, IL, and York, NE, before heading west.

Her travels took her thru Rock Springs, WY, and then Ontario, OR (actually I have been there several times!) before heading to Portland. She spent a few hours there and, as of 11 p.m. tonight was in the FedEx location in Troutdale, OR (right across the Columbia River from Camas, WA–we used to have dear friends who lived there, and Ron’s daughter lives there now–maybe she stopped to visit?!), and the expected delivery date isn’t until next Tuesday! <<>>

      Hi, Charlotte,
My Anniversary set from Happily has been showing as still in Maryland, from UPS, but I just checked this morning, and now the package has made it to San Pablo, CA, which is only an hour or so from us. Have no idea of the journey along the way, but happy they are getting close. Maybe it will show up today or tomorrow. Now, how am I going to hide that double box?? I think Estelle would love that coat Jeanne has up. And I’m sure Francis would like some more casual clothes. Maybe Jeanne will make an outfit for the boys? How about a jacket, pants, and a pair of those great boots she is making now.? 🙂

Dear Charlotte and Joy, I hope your children arrive home soon. Clearly they have decided to tour the US. I hope they arrive home with great stories and photos to share (chuckle).

  2. Hope you feel better! My husband has been down for a week with headache and sore throat, he was positive, yesterday I started with a head cold, I have not tested yet. I hope you do not have the Omicron but they are saying we are all going get it! Just got to keep happy thoughts! Rest, rest, rest dolls will wait!

So sorry about your husband and you also. Several weeks ago, I too had the scratchy throat and cough. Other person and I both got tested and were negative. Presume it was just a cold, but you can’t be too careful. A neighbor is a nurse and said just yesterday, that her hospital is packed with Omicron patients. Please take it easy and get well soon, both of you.

Seems like Jeanne just had a whopper of a cold right after Christmas? Can’t remember. Hope George doesn’t get it also. How is testing going in Carbondale? Available? If so, definitely get tested. Don’t want to give it to someone else. Here, the lines are long for testing with a turn around of a couple of days. Home tests are very difficult to find. Demand is high. Hope it is easier for Jeanne. Stay safe everyone.

  4. Rest and get well Jeanne!
It’s been fun hearing about all the dolls excursions across the country!! I’m going to check and see where little Sydney is.
I thought at one time, someone mentioned some of the clothes on the RRFF dolls stained their bodies? Anyone remember that ? I’m not home and won’t be for a few more months to check my RRFF’s.

My Hanna had stains on her legs from her fishnet hose, but she is the only one of my RRFFs that has had a problem.

    2. Joy in northern CA

Yes, in the past there have been stains from dark clothing and thread. Seems like RRFF fixed that by sending the clothes packaged separately from the doll, but I wouldn’t keep any dark clothing on for too long without a bodysuit underneath as you never know. I did see just the other day that someone had one of the newest outfits, the cat one, whose doll was stained from the leggings. Expensive clothes to have to wash to remove the dye before putting on a doll. 🙂

Get well, Jeanne, but take your time in doing so. We all get under the weather now and then, but we don’t all have a blog like you do! While we do miss you today, we understand and hope things get better soon. Prayers for you!

Good heavens, all those dolly adventures before they get to their new homes! If only they could talk!

Sending you tons of get well wishes, Jeanne. Maybe we’re passing things around through the Blog. A scary thought, a new type of computer virus. I’ve been out of commission for two days with a horrible sore throat. I’ve had Strep and I always say it’s like having razor blades in your throat. This was more like scimitars. I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon. He said it was due to allergies and the drainage had caused a throat infection. I thought I was on top of things and was getting a cold so when the store throat went away, I thought I was done with that. It came back with a vengeance two days later. He put me on an antibiotic and gave me a prescription for a different kind of allergy medication. The pharmacy won’t have the allergy medication until some time today – maybe, so I got back on the Allegra he usually recommends and between that and the antibiotic I’m feeling much better today. My throat is still a little sore but I won’t have a full day of antibiotics until the end of the day.

I love Freida’s pretty coat and hat, and the boots are really cute. The color of the outfit goes so well with Freida’s coloring. I received my Freida the day I started feeling poorly so she is out of her box but we haven’t been able to bond just yet. I didn’t know what I had and I didn’t want her first experience here to be being sick. And I sure didn’t want her to pass anything on to the 30+ other residents of the dolly room.

Hope everyone else that is under the weather recovers soon.

    1. Joy in northern CA

Oh, hope you are on the mend. So kind of you to spare the dollies becoming infected. 🙂 I’m really happy with Freida. So cute. I’ve seen her with her braid taken down and her hair is lovely. However, I’m inept with hair, so it’s staying as it is.
Here I thought since my RRFF Anniversary couple were in the bay area, that they might bring up the load last night or today. Wrong. My UPS still says delivery Monday. What? The original shipping said she would arrive tomorrow, and then it was changed to Monday. Come on UPS. Get those packages moving!!
I was thinking how fortunate that you weren’t sick when your husband had his knee surgery. That would have been awful.
      Get well soon.

  7. I hope you feel better soon, Jeanne. Rest, have hot tea, snuggle with pets (Reuben in your case), and watch a good movie…. my cure all for when I feel ill.
I seem to recall you had a horrible cold right prior to Christmas, so take it easy.

  8. Sally from Colorado

Dear Jeanne, sending you hugs, hot tea, treats and lots of love. Take good care of yourself! Everyone! Take good care of yourselves. Jeepers creepers!
    ❤️

Dear Jeanne, I am sending you dolly hugs and teddy bear prayers. I hope you are better soon.

Here is a question: who had the doll who was “missing” for a year but was really in a box under the sink or in a closet? I kind of remember that story from a year or two ago. I don’t know why I am thinking about it now other than that folks are waiting for dolls who have clearly decided to tour the country (chuckle).

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Sally, I hope she reads this and lets us know. I will post this again in case she doesn’t see it. I love doll caper stories!
