A few more Christmas Trees to drool over…

DON’T FORGET:
Tonight, my pink doll coat for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends, ends on Ebay! If you haven’t seen it already, you can, by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I received a few more pictures from some other subscribers and wanted to give everyone a chance to share their tree. It’s a good thing I got these pictures because I was working LOTS of hours today trying to perfect a coat pattern for the Little Darlings, and on my 4th (or maybe my 5th) attempt, I called it quits. I had made a coat for Janie once before, but I must have just winged it and didn’t actually keep the pattern… because I can’t find it anywhere… I’ll keep trying…

Anyway, here are some fun pictures of the trees and a little bit more. I actually haven’t had a moment to read all of the comments today… when I wasn’t sewing, my hubby had me looking some things up on the computer…

Kathie had this to say about her pictures…

This time my Meadow doll, Giggi, is a little girl Elf holding my Birthday present from my BFF in a onesie she made.

It looks like this might be the dolly tree?

Giggi wanted to play with this tractor soooo much!

Bella captured a flying angel right off the tree!

My 3 Little darlings are trying to decide when to open presents.

My 1950 pink seashell themed bathroom HAD to have a pink Christmas tree. It is mostly Margaret Furlong Angels with some other fun ones added in.

These angels are tiny Donna Lee Angels and about 2” 😉 Most are sitting on a cloud, and she thinks Hallmark made them back in the 80’s.

Paula sent me a picture of her trees… and oh how pretty they are!
Hello Jeanne, just in case you need a picture this year or next year around Christmas. It is so much fun seeing everyone’s tree pictures!

I found a new blanket of snow for under the trees. It’s heavy and really looks like snow. I’ve caught our niece’s little poodle hiding her treats in the folds of the snowdrifts!
A “dear” friend sent me the golden reindeer and he stands so regally in the snow too. Under the big tree is the start of my last year’s gift from my son, the nativity. My favorite gift.
The majority of ornaments are ordinary but add sparkle, but I have started adding the special ornaments of our doggies and others and my new ornament for this year, is the 2000 White House ornament I found. It has the White House sitting in a spinner. The White House is stone and is made from the same stone from the same stone quarry the White House was built of.
I’ve changed items on the stair steps so that’s not accurate. But like the picture on the wall says, it’s my “Winter Wonderland.” If I had the room, I’d add two skinny trees in the two openings between the trees, then I’d really have a forest!

Merry Christmas Jeanne, to you and your family!

…and Linda sent me a couple more… if I “needed” them.. I did… I did!

Jeanne, if you can stand two more Christmas trees to show, here they are! Only if you need them, so please don’t feel you have to use them. You need some time to enjoy your Christmas too!

First is our living room tree, which has mostly gold and crystal ornaments. It is pretty sparkly when all the lights are on! No tree skirts for me! That’s a gold tablecloth!

The next tree is our family room tree, with ornaments we have collected from here, there and everywhere, plus some that are homemade. Like I have mentioned before, the candy canes are close to 50 years old, and are real! I used to put popcorn garlands on this tree, but it got to be too much with decorating two trees, plus the house and the dolls too!

Love to you, Linda

Thanks EVERYONE who sent pictures. We LOVE seeing what it’s like at your house!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Hi Jeanne The coat you mentioned for Janie was from January 2018 and the pattern was from House of Biscotti which you said that you downloaded so hopefully it should still be on your computer somewhere.

I remember it because I used the same pattern to make a coat for a Little Darling swap for Jane in New Zealand and you very kindly showed it on your blog.

    Hope this helps

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas

  2. Charlotte Trayer

Big thanks to Kathie, Paula and Linda for sharing tree pictures tonight! I really enjoyed looking at them all.

This will be short, as I must get to bed. I have my alarm set for 6:45 tomorrow morning (the middle of the night for me!!). We have to check Ron in at 8:30; his labs have all come back and his covid test was negative. (all done on Monday).

Thank you all so much for your prayers. Will try to update after the procedure is over and I know something. You are all the best!

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Charlotte, I am continuing to hold you two in prayer.

Charlotte Noelle sends her love and says to tell you that candy canes are medicine so you can have one or more if you like. I think she was trying to get one (or more) for herself (laugh).

      1. Charlotte Trayer

Thank you Dorothy, and thank Charlotte Noelle, too. I don’t have any candy canes here, but I do have peppermint candies (red and white striped) so I hope that counts! (smile)

  3. Linda in St. Louis

Good morning, Jeanne! I see that you have more trees and dollies for us to drool over and it certainly gives us something to smile about in these last hectic days before Christmas!

Paula, oh my, what a beautiful scene you have created! I love the “blanket of snow” as you call it! It certainly does give those gorgeous trees reason to be a “Winter Wonderland”! That gold deer is so pretty too! I love your nativity set! The simple ones are so much more inspirational.

Those darling angels are such a cute addition to Kathie’s tree! I especially love the one with the little girl swinging on a cloud! Bella and Giggi look so cute dressed as Santa’s elves and look like they are having as much fun as the elves themselves! And a pink bathroom tree! Now I have seen it all!

Prayers for you and Ron today, Charlotte!

I absolutely love everyone’s decorating styles. I’m already picking out ideas to use here.
Kathie, did you make Bella’s elf outfit. Love it!
Walking in a winter wonderland is an amazing display. Love the three trees and five would be fun too! 🙂
Linda’s gold tablecloth is the perfect addition to the golden tree. Nothing like 50 year old candy canes either to add to the mix in the family room. Fun. I could only glimpse a peep of that wall hanging/quilt, but it looks lovely. And I also like that recliner. We could use one similar here. Maker?
Thanks everyone for sharing your wonderful decorating skills and thanks to Jeanne too for posting. Presents are wrapped and ready to be delivered. We also have gifts for our neighborhood doggie friends this year. Can’t wait to drop them off. 🙂

    1. If Gigi isn’t the cutest little girl, I don’t know what is! She’s adorable in her Christmas outfit as well as Kathie’s other girls dressed in their holiday garments. The tree outfit is the greatest. Too cute!
Love the nostalgic pink bathroom and it’s tree! How fun! And Kathie, your tree with all those little angels! They are sweet and each one seems to be very busy.
Linda, your elegant gold tree is amazing! The gold tablecloth is perfect to lay around the bottom of the tree! I love the gold prongs (?) coming out at the top and the garland intertwined among the crystal ornaments on the tree. It is absolutely gorgeous!! And it looks like your other Christmas tree is adorned with more keepsake ornaments? It too is beautiful. And I see it’s the keeper of the gifts!

Thank you Jeanne for adding my tree picture as well. The ornaments aren’t very discernible because of my picture taking but I did see the White House ornament I spoke of in the lower front. The items on the stairs keep changing because I continually move things around and the nativity will hopefully add a stable this year so the Holy family won’t be so cold in the snow. I’ll add straw for them too. I love how Willow captured the loving gentleness of Mary holding the Baby Jesus.

There are a few more days left till Christmas so I hope everyone’s enjoying the Season!

Charlotte, stay well and keep us posted on Ron. Thinking of you!

    2. Linda in St. Louis

Joy, the quilt wall hanging is from Bass Pro Shops! I’m not one to quilt!
We have had that recliner for almost 20 years, but you can find recliners like that now. Mine is made by Lane Furniture, but that has been sold to some other company. It is a recliner and footrest. Macy’s has a recliner almost like that on sale now, but it isn’t cheap! We got ours at a department store that is now Macy’s.

      1. Joy in northern CA

I’m sure the new ones won’t last like yours. I like the style. I’ve seen a few similar. Nothing is cheap anymore either. I’ll take a look. 🙂 Thank you

  5. I to love all the dolls and everyone’s Christmas trees 🎄 I also have to say I thank Jeanne every day that I open her blog,to see what she is doing and then to include lots of the girls and their dolls. It is a joyous way to start the day! Thank you!

  6. Sally from Colorado

    Hello, sisters!
Jeanne, thanks for posting all of these wonderful pictures yesterday and today. The trees are gorgeous, the dolls so delightful…so much talent and creativity! All around the world! These two days of pictures have certainly helped lift my holiday spirits in a huge way.
Charlotte, hoping today goes smoothly. Very often we do a lot of needless worrying before an event, but we can’t help it, can we? Still,I always think it is smart to envision a few scenarios and have a “plan” for each one. We look forward to your report.
Sylvia, I am so in agreement; opening this blog everyday is a great start to a day even if I don’t have a chance to write. All of you are just great women.
Joy, if you have presents for neighboring dogs, you’re absolutely my kind of woman!
Thanks again to everyone for your beautiful holiday pictures. Have a great one, and good luck with the pink auction, Jeanne.

  7. Wowza Linda…you have the most awesome trees I have ever seen! Perfectly decorated and Lit. Love, Love them!
Paula your display is perfect…those Nativity characters are my favorites too. The white does look like snow.
Thanks for the nice comments on the pics…I couldn’t add any info on some ..it wouldn’t let me. The two china doll ornaments were from an art fair..they ring like a bell and the plastic with the crocheted dress is off my Aunts tree….she made those for the girls and hung little metal cars on the tree for the boys
I didn’t make Bella’s outfit or Gigi’s but they were so cute I couldn’t pass them up. The Tree is a wine bottle cover 🙂 I must quit collecting ornaments…can’t get them all on the tree anymore…I didn’t even take pics of the big tree.
Glad we helped make time for you Jeanne ..:0)
Hope all goes well Charlotte…and you can take a nap!
Setting the table for Christmas Eve today…my helpers were free today Yeah!

    1. P.S. I FINALLY got my order for Freida to go through :0) …used my desk top and cleared the cache…as per info from my techy friend. So Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday from my hubby!

  8. Susette from Southern California

I could have been happy all day just seeing the first picture of Gigi with the tiniest realistic-looking baby doll I’ve ever seen. I’ll call this one the Elf Tree. What an amazing collection! It’s really wonderful to be able to see everyone’s trees and share The RRFFs certainly take to Christmas very well. And so do the Little Darlings. How about the sea shell tree “skirt!” And the little angels are so cute

I sent a Pottery Barn Goldendoodle ornament to my son’s family in Texas. I also parted with the stuffed animal puppy ornament that was with Molly yesterday that looks just like their mini Domino Goldendoodle. It was hard to let him go. Only for grandchildren! What a special ornament the White House one is.

Linda’s trees are so pretty. The last one surely belongs on a magazine cover. The present bags look great under the tree. I used to use a red, white and gold o I as a tree skirt when I used to put up the 8’ tree.

It’s so much fun to be able to share our trees, especially since we aren’t visiting as much this year. Thanks everyone for the real treats. 🎄

  9. Kathie, you Giggi is just the cutest thing with her mischievous smile. Your Little Darlings are adorable in the Christmas outfits. The tree dress is particularly fun.
Love your pink bathroom tree. You can enjoy that straight through Valentine’s. My grandparent had a pink and gray bathroom and that would have fit right in.
Paula, your trio of trees is just lovely with their snow tipped branches. Your golden deer and Nativity really adds to the special display. I also like your lanterns on the stairs. I tree forest would be a lot of fun.
Linda, your golden tree is so elegant. The golden tree skirt was the perfect chaoice to set it off. The family room tree is very pretty . How wonderful to have kept candy canes all these years. I do remember the canes I had as a child in the 1970’s were much thicker than the ones you buy today.
Thank you for sharing. It’s enjoyable to see everyone’s different decorating style.

Charlotte, hoping everything goes smoothly today.

  10. Anne Coldron in Christchurch NZ

Loved looking at the trees. Kathie I loved seeing Giggi with her tiny doll and your LD’s look gorgeous in their Christmas outfits. Loved the pink tree in the bathroom! My bathroom is about 3m x2.5m, just enough room for a basin, a shower, toilet and a narrow tall shelf/cupboard. Not much room for a tree! Not much room for 5 people’s toiletries either!

Paula I loved your trees in your hallway and the blanket looks great just like a snow bank.

Linda I just loved your golden tree it is fabulous. No room in this house for more than one tree.

The advent Calendar in my pictures yesterday is Ashley’s of course. It is a Schleich and there are different scenes to create. This one is a farm scene. To me they are just plastic toys but Sam assures me they are quality toys, they should be, it cost a lot of money.

I thought I would give an update on the pet front. I bought the Rescue Remedy drops that were recommended, I think by Laura but not sure. I daren’t go back to look in case I lose my post. Whether it is the drops or just time things seem to be a lot better. Gizmo is ignoring Luna which has helped, The weather has been very hot the last few days so I don’t expect to see Luna inside much during the day but when we go outside she often comes over to say hello then goes back to wherever she has found a nice cool spot which is normal behaviour for her. However a couple of times she has come back in and joined Louis on my bed while I check my e mails (and write comments to you girls). Louis and Pearl are not quite there yet. Pearl is at least spending time out of Caitlin’s room and in the garden which is good but last night she and Louis had a bit of a spat. We didn’t see exactly what happened but we think Louis got too close to Pearl and she might have given him a swipe which he took exception to and he got pretty nasty to her. Unfortunately she was in a corner so couldn’t escape so only had her claws to protect herself. Neither of them were hurt at all, Louis had too much respect for those claws but he was growling pretty fiercely. Louis got into a lot of trouble, everyone was angry with him though I think the only one whose opinion he cared about was me. His whole demeanor was “she started it, why are you cross with me”. Honestly it is just like having little children in the house. He’s a quick learner so he’ll soon learn to stay away from her.
I must go and take the dog for a walk. It is supposed to be much cooler today only 20C which is much better for baking. I didn’t get much done yesterday it was just too hot (30C). I have three cakes to decorate as well and still need to make 4 more re-usable crackers so got a busy day.
    Take care everyone

    1. Joy in northern CA

Definitely a full house at your place, but sounds like everyone mostly is settling in. I think you will have a wonderful Christmas with family and pets. Can’t believe you are decorating cakes in the heat. I’m sure you have a special trick for it though. Hope you have a delightful holiday. 🙂

    2. Hi Anne, Yes I was the one to recommend the Rescue Remedy. Glad to hear it is helping and I’m sure time is helping as well. Claws are kitty’s first line of defense, but she probably just swiped the air with them and didn’t touched Louis at all. Things will get even better as time goes on.
Ashley’s Advent calendar sounds a like like the Playmobil ones. My daughter got a lot of Playmobil for a dollhouse as a child. The plastic is quality plastic.
I agree with Joy, You’re going to have the BEST Christmas.

  11. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, thanks for sharing more photos from the Sofa Sisters. It is so lovely to see their trees and dolls.

Well Christmas Day is almost here. Joy, joy, joy!

  12. I love all the trees!!!! I was lucky enough to go my favorite Christmas party again this year. It’s the party to end all parties! This year there were 37 trees in that wonderful little house! 🙂

  13. Charlotte Trayer

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers. I have talked to the doctor, and they did Not have to put in any stents, so he can some home in a couple of hours! The doctor said Ron had “no significant blockages” and the arteries were in pretty good condition considering his age (almost 89–he’s 13 years older than I). It’s been a nerve-wracking day, though! They are going to let me come up and see him in the hospital because of his neurological issues, so I’m heading up there in a few minutes.

Again, thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts and kind words. The Sofa Sisters are the best!!

    1. What wonderful news, Charlotte. I thought I’d check back to see if you had posted an update. Sounds like Ron is in fabulous shape for being 89. Wow. Take care and get some rest and de-stress yourself. So glad to hear he can come home with you today.

    2. Joy in northern CA

Glad he’s going to come home, but please take care of yourself too. Hopefully, you both can get some well deserved rest. Thinking of you
