~ Victorian Charm ~ is now listed on Ebay…

I had to go back and see who it was that mentioned the words “Victorian Charm” in their comments and discovered it was our “other” Dorothy… Dorothy L, near Pittsburg, PA! As soon as I read it in your comments, I knew that was the name for this one… Thanks for helping me with the name… I think it fits perfectly! :o)

Rebecca and Karn left very early Sunday morning and made it safely back to PA. We are once again empty nesters…:o(

I found myself in my sewing room last night after they went to bed early and managed to get my final pictures taken of the girls in the dress set and then Sunday evening I was able to get it listed on Ebay. You can see the listing by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I will show you a few things I changed up on the dress…

I know there was some talk about the buttons and their placement… I decided to add another one to the mix and make it six and I also moved them in closer together… I just like the looks of double breasted buttons on the front of little girls dresses.

There was also some chatter about the size of the hat I made for this set. “Upon further inspection” I deduced that you were right, so I cut it down in circumference. I hope you can tell a difference. I remember Joy saying it looked like it was so heavy it was pulling Rozen’s head down… Both of these dolls have thick heavy braids on both sides of their heads, so this style hat probably wasn’t the best choice, but it’s the kind of hat I wanted. On a doll with a regular style hairdo, it will probably flop over more and look better.

I’ll show the old version first and then the remade one…

Better? It’s kind of thick fabric to get nice gathers from, so it helped cutting it down some… I hope you agree…

You’ll also get some nice pictures of Kendall wearing it and she looks pretty cute in this bright red.

Well, that’s it for me… I’m heading to bed since I’ve been up since 4 a.m. this morning…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh Jeanne, the two things you changed, the buttons and beret are just perfect!! I really do like the beret so much better now that has been cut down! Love the buttons too, they just look better and not so “scattered” . And now two bids I see already! Woo!

I am trying to get my living room tree decorated, and a million other things, it seems! You have your tree up already and can now concentrate on sewing again, plus any Christmas activities you might have coming up. Couples Christmas Party?

So glad to hear that Rebecca and Karn made it back to Penn. safely!

    1. Thanks Linda,
I have to agree…the beret DOES look better now…I’m debating about making another hat too…

I have so many things going on in December, I’m thinking the Couples Christmas party might get the ax…I’m sorry to do that, but we have too many conflicts…

This is the earliest I have ever had my tree up and I’m quite enjoying it…

      Hope you get yours up!
      Blessings, Jeanne

Rozen and Kendall are rocking the outfit. I like the hat with the fixes and that pompom is so attractive. I love the lace snow on the ground too. So creative. I just checked and there are five bids already. Wow!
Received a notice this morning that my RRFF Christmas girl Jennifer is on her way. Now I’m wishing that I had bought one of the girls from last year too.
So, what’s the drive time to PA to your place? Probably not so bad as long as the weather is clear. I’m jealous because you are all decorated and here, not even a jingle bell. 🙁

    1. Thank you so much, Joy, for your reply about the RRFF girls. Yes, it does appear the Facebook will be the best choice now that P & P is gone. I’ll have to look into that or Maybe I can convince my friend, Tina to add the site to her Facebook stuff and forward info to me.

    2. Theresa in Indiana

I got my notice for Jennifer, too. Coming from Hong Kong, let’s hope they don’t get held up on some dock somewhere…. 🙂 I think mine will be my Christmas gift from hubby, but I know I won’t be able to wait until December 25th to open her up and check her out.

      1. Joy in northern CA

All of the dolls I’ve received from HK have come by air. So, hopefully, our Jennifer’s will arrive soon. 🙂

    3. Hi Joy,
I think Kendall surprised me at how pretty she looks in this red set. It just pops next to her skin…

I saw a TLC Kendall on Ebay and was debating if the wig on that doll might be better than the one on my doll now…still haven’t decided.

Congrats on Jennifer coming soon… I am about as close to ordering Northern Lights Bella as I’ve ever been… but I’ve been debating about tiny little Nunnu too…decisions, decisions.

Rebecca and Karn are 10 hours away… Cindy is 13 hours away…

It was nice to get the tree up with some help and fun at the same time.
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Rozen and Kendall both look charming in this outfit. The smaller beret looks so much better. Have a kitty at the vet for a tooth extraction and cleaning,so busy day. hopefully, on to Christmas decorating tomorrow. I do have some of the outside stuff up if that counts.

    1. Hi Laura,
I hope your kitty gets lots of extra attention today. Tooth aches are no fun

Oh boy, decorating tomorrow! Hope that is fun too!!

Thanks for the compliments on the beret…I’m glad I cut it down

      Blessings, Jeanne

The ensemble is now the picture of perfection. I love the changes you made. The beret definitely fits better and I really like the buttons. Both Rozen and Kendall look perfect in the outfit so your field of bidders should be quite large.

I started my Christmas letter yesterday. A lot went on this year, some good some not so good, so I’m trying to keep it balanced. Sadly, my Christmas card list is shrinking year by year. Older family members and some cousins are now with the angels and most of my friends and I do Jacquie Lawson ecards. I still do the traditional card sending for many because they like getting my annual newsletter, since we are not in touch most of the rest of the year, and many are leaving Facebook.

David and Sean are preparing grab bars for the doorway from the garage. Because our home is on piers there are steps up into the house in the front, the back and the garage. It was no problem when David had only one leg that had surgery but he might need a little help after next week’s surgery. But he is walking by himself now, no walker and no cane. He was sure he would need both for much longer. But it will be back to the walker next week.

After a few gloomy days it’s a beautiful day here today. Temps in the 50s and sunny.

    1. Thank you, Barbara. I’m glad you like the small changes…
sometimes it doesn’t take much to make a difference.

I hope you can find time to do your Christmas letter…its hard to remember all that happened to us this year… I’d have to look back at my blog…(sometimes it’s like my journal).

Congrats to your hubby on being cane and assist-free walking. I know that is a big help for him AND you!!

We had a beautiful day yesterday but today its a bit chilly!! I think Thursday we are supposed to get up to 67 degrees…

      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, I am happy that the Pennsylvania newlyweds made it home safely. I bet there are more Jeanne adjacent folks in PA – or with connections to PA – than in any other state (chuckle).

The dress looks adorable. It will definitely make some special dolly very happy.

If you need a suggestion for “who’s next.” I vote for Kaye Wiggs. I think you have one of her MSD size dolls.

    December in two days. Wow!

    1. Hi Dorothy
You might be right about the “followers” from PA…I do have a fair amount from PA…even TWO Dorothys!!

Its funny you should mention Kaye Wiggs…I was just thinking of Nyssa yesterday… wondering WHY I don’t sew for her more often… I have 2 Wiggs dolls…Nyssa and Hope!

Yep, December is upon us!! It’s hard to think it’s already December. I think this year went way fast!!!
      Thanks Dorothy
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Marilyn in Colorado

With the hat and cape, this is a perfect Christmas outfit. Hasn’t this been one of your most productive years?

The second Kendall picture is calendar worthy.

    1. Hi Marilyn
I know I was on the fast track at the first part of the year… then Rebecca and Karn kind of slowed things down for me a bit, but I’m hoping to close it out with few more Christmas dresses.

      Thanks for your kind compliments!

      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Kathie from Omaha

Really good changes to this outfit. Your sofa sisters are good judges… I wouldn’t have noticed the suggestions made but they were right. The buttons and the beret do look better now and buyers must agree since they are busy bidding a.ready🤗
Glad the kids visit went well and their trip home too. They looked very happy in the pictures.
Now you can concentrate on something you want to do.
My house looks like a tornado hit. Decorations all over the place. Some dolls in fall outfits and only one in a Christmas dress. Maybe before and after pics are in order😵‍💫 The house is about 75 years old and we have been having electrical issues… in the original parts. The tree blew out a fuse yesterday and last week the space heater did too.

    1. Thank you Kathie,
It’s always fun to see the bidding start early… I’m glad everyone seems to like it…

The kids DO seem very happy…that is some consolation with them so far away…

I wish my hubby were there to help your hubby with the electrical issues you are having. He loves doing electrical projects the most.

Hope you get them all figured out soon. Then you can play dolly dress up!!
      Blessings, Jeanne
