I worked as quickly as I could, trying my hardest to get the best pictures of Felicity in her Colonial dress set; inside, as the day was very rainy. I really didn’t want to wait another day and drag this out, so I just tried to get my lighting right and go for it! I’m going to show you the pictures I DIDN’T use in my listing and then put the link for the auction at the end… OR, if you can’t wait, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or click HERE to see the listing.
See what you think of Felicity in Colonial Spring! I’ll warn you now, after you look at these and then look at the auction (there are no duplicate pictures) you just might have “Felicity Overload!’ Sorry! No, I’m not…she looks so sweet, we just took WAY too many pictures, hoping for some good ones…
Well, what did you think?
If you waited for the link to the auction till the end, click… HERE.
Well, I’m heading to bed early tonight!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Just beautiful, Jeanne! Everything works together so well, accessories are in proper proportion, laces, trims, etc. Perfect colors and print for her, too.
Thank you Charlotte, (AKA judge!) *wink* *wink*
Blessings, Jeanne
The ensemble came out beautiful, one can see all the work that went into putting it together.
I think you will be rewarded handsomely for your efforts. Only fitting for Felicity!
Sylvia from NH
HI Sylvia,
Thank you for your sweet comments… Well, I hope you are right… about the “reward!” :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
Good morning Jeanne. I agree that Felicity does look sweet. Her new outfit is just beautiful. I like every thing about it.
Good morning to you, Carolyn!
Thanks so much!
Blessings, Jeanne
Sweet, beautiful, gorgeous, and whatever else, you knocked it out of the box, Jeanne! I was wondering, if the hat could also be turned so that the flowers could be in the front. I think that would also be pretty, but in that case, the bow would have to be tied in back, although I love that big beautiful bow in front!
HI Linda,
As I read your words I thought of something I could have done that would have made it where it could be worn both front or back… Where the end of the straw finishes off, there is a little spot where you can see the end… and I generally put that toward the back… but as I read you comment, I realized I could have just as easily put that spot on the side where the ribbon covers it… I will do that from now on… BUT it could be worn with the flowers on the front if the person didn’t mind that little drop off spot… thanks for mentioning that… or I never would have thought to change my way of making them…The ribbons are right down the center of the hat, so it could still be tied in the front, even with the flowers at the front too… maybe I’ll show what I mean tomorrow…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Do you have enough material left for a drawstring bag? That would be a cute touch!
Hi Linda,
Yes, I do have enough fabric for a small bag…if the winner wanted one…
Blessings, Jeanne
I really like fabric you used for the mob cap! The weave is almost a window pane. The added detail raises it above plain to something special, and out of the ordinary. All in all, Felicity’s colonial spring ensemble is another marvelous make, Jeanne!
HI Julia,
I only have a few scraps of that fabric left… I bought it down at Cape in Missouri… at a “$1.00 a pound” fabric outlet… I think it was some kind of sheer fabric used for windows… anyway, it’s been wonderful for lining things and a few caps I’ve made… It is super thin… just about like a kleenex.
Thanks so much, Julia,
Blessings, Jeanne
Really beautiful ensemble and the coral ribbon is perfect. I love seeing when it all comes together. The pearls look very nice. The fabric is lovely and made up perfectly.
Thank you Barbara,
Are you on pins and needles waiting and watching for Greer Adele? I bet you are!
Thanks for your kind words…
Blessings, Jeanne
Felicity looks lovely even wearing a mop cap which I might add is very tasteful. Bids already too. Another winner is born. Glad you got the listing posted successfully. A few of the photos posted are small sized. Don’t know why, but the others are wonderful. Success. Yay.
HI Joy,
I can’t believe my pictures turned out as well as they did with it being so drab outside… no light to speak of except for my Ott lights… I guess they did the trick this time…
That one small picture of the flower was going to be used for my tile around the edges but I took the one used for the tile now, and it seems to pick up a few more of the colors of the fabric… I decided to use that small picture of the lone flower just to show the color of the flowers a little better. It’s a hard color to describe…
Thanks so much Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
I second Julia’s comments on the mob cap.
I wondered about the term, so I went to Wikipedia:
The origin of the term mobcap is a compound of mob “dishabille, casually dressed” + cap. It may be modeled on Dutch mop(muts) “woman’s cap”.[1]

You do have a lot of Felicity pictures in the Ebay listing, but Felicity is so photogenic and this gown is so becoming that I can see why you couldn’t stop with just a few. I’m glad you put this on AGPT too.
Hi Marilyn,
Glad you are safe! I also thought of you when I heard the sad news of the shooting. I didn’t know it was a close to you as it was.
I enjoyed the links you posted yesterday as well. Thanks.
HI Marilyn,
I probably went overboard on the pictures in the listing, but decided to use them anyway… and I probably used too many on today’s post, but I decided to use them anyway too! :o)
On AGPT they have stopped letting you post things in the Marketplace UNLESS you have the price set… it can’t be an auction where bids are placed. I have to be careful not to mention anything in the Home Ec category that says it’s for sale… I just have to show pictures and let everyone know I made it… and HOPE they go to the bottom of my post and see the link to my blog or Ebay and find it for sale…
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Absolutely love Felicity’s complete outfit! Another “Masterpiece” – since Masterpiece Theatre often has programs depicting a story from Felicity’s era, it fits the description.
Definitely has the “ Jeanne Touch.”
Awww, thank you Paula…
I looked at a book I have called “Masterpieces of Women’s Costumes of the 18th and 19th Centuries.” I was looking for hat ideas but there were just a few… so I had to just come up with something on my own…
Thanks for your kind words…
Blessings, Jeanne
She looks fantastic! Love the pictures you didn’t use too😉
That fabric will always be a favorite!
Best of luck with this auction!
HI Kathie,
There were only 2 fat quarters used for this dress set… there will never be another one like it… at least from me… So glad you liked it…
Blessings, Jeanne
Greer Adele just arrived safe and sound and is even prettier than her pictures. I had a little trouble getting her out of the box because she was so anxious to join the family she wouldn’t stop squirming. In truth the way she was packaged was just enough to keep her safe but I didn’t feel like I was damaging her getting her out of her packaging as I often do with other dolls. Now I must go make her Easter dress so she will be ready for the upcoming Easter Tea.
HI Barbara,
Congratulations on Greer Adele! I bet you won’t get a thing done today except looking at her… that’s what happened the day I received Isabelle. I kept going in my sewing room checking on her to see if she was really as pretty as she was the last time I looked at her… She always was. Have fun today!
Blessings, Jeanne
Thank you, Jeanne, for thinking I’m a history expert, but I doubt that is the case. I do love history very much now,. Far, far more than I ever did in grade school and high school. I think it was because it was nothing but a bunch of dry facts always presented in a somewhat boring way. Of course, as an adult, you can read, watch, and learn any history that interests you. I do research the eras that my dolls live in or nationalities that are pertinent to my family. I’m a little enraptured with my Irish/Scottish/Welsh at present. German at Christmas.
Felicity’s gown turned out just beautifully. The fabric is so very pretty. It’s definitely a top fabric choice of mine as well. I know you said it just happened, but the three flowers lining up in a row really makes it special. This fabric sets off Felicity’s beauty perfectly. She is in a class of her own.
I love the fabric you used on her mob cap as well and was positive I had something quite similar. I had to run and check the fabric stash. I do have something quite similar in a windowpane cream.
The hat is just lovely with the huge bow. I do wonder why the style was to tie the bow in back rather than showing it off in front as in Civil War times. I prefer it in front.
Always love seeing the final result.
HI Laura,
Well, you’ll always be an expert to me and my go to person if I have questions on certain eras.
Felicity is VERY pretty in this gown… I think she has a kind of glow to her skin (vinyl) but it’s certainly her colors and looks so pretty on her… I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
Thank you for all your over the top compliments…
Blessings, Jeanne
This turned out beautifully! Her hair and coloring look great with the fabric and lace. Very nice indeed. I’m sure this will sell and someone will be thrilled to have it for their doll.
Thank you Marla,
I appreciate your kind words and thank you for them… Felicity does look very pretty in this dress set and I’m not ashamed to say it myself… She “wears” this so well…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
