American Girl DOLLS FOR SALE…

It’s time I thinned out my collection of dolls… I have a few that are just taking up space, …and others that are very easily used for several time periods in history. I probably could get my collection of models down to 7 or 8 dolls and they would work okay, but I think 9 dolls will work best for right now. We’ll see….

Here are all the American Girl dolls I have right now.

My blonde dolls…
Elizabeth
Kirsten (1)
Kirsten (2)
Caroline
Kit

My redheads… and my African American doll…
Nellie
Felicity
Addy

My brunette dolls…
Rebecca
Samantha
Eden (#41)
Nora (#69)
Molly

Some of my dolls are very good at “time traveling” to other periods other than the one they were originally made for…

Elizabeth can be my Colonial girl, she’s my best Regency model and she makes a pretty good Julie in a pinch!

Kirsten can be both a Swedish girl and also a pioneer girl with no problems.

Rebecca is very versatile and can be a lovely Civil War model, she’s made for the 1900’s and she can also be a Modern girl. Even though I have Samantha and Nellie who are in the Edwardian era, Rebecca might be considered a “duplicate” and not needed, but she more than makes up for other era’s and is a very useful and needed doll.

Nellie was specifically made to be Samantha’s friend in the early 1900’s, but her hairstyle is perfect for the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s and even modern styles. She’s kind of timeless to me in her looks.

Felicity is my Colonial girl and could possibly be used as a model for Little Women. I love her unique looks.

Addy is my Civil War go to girl and I pretty much only use her for the 1860’s.

Molly can be used for the 30’s, 40’s, and the 50’s. I’ve used her as a modern girl before too…

Nora doesn’t see much action, but I’m hoping to use her as my main modern girl, but also for the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and the 70’s. She’s also modeled a Civil War dress or two for me.

Samantha is my dainty Edwardian doll, but she can also be seen in the 40’s and 50’s with the hairstyle she has.

So who does that leave for “the chopping block?”

With a lot of consideration and contemplation, I have decided to let these 4 dolls go… I’ll be selling them on my blog if possible, to the United States only.

Kirsten… the one I have used for several years. My daughter was at the Goodwill store a while back and found another Kirsten doll and I like her better. She had the chubbier face and so my previous Kirsten doll is getting culled.
Maybe you know of a little girl who would like a nice clean doll with soft, manageable hair and pretty blue eyes. I’m selling her here on my blog… for $50.00, including shipping. Just let me know if you are interested.

Here are a few pictures of her…

She has beautiful soft hair, whether it’s let down or braided… it’s very pretty.

Her legs and arms are fairly tight… she can stand on her own.

Her cloth body is clean and has no odors. She comes from a smoke free home… My home and her previous home.

Her neck ties are long and uncut.

Her fingers and toes are all intact with no chew marks or polish on them. She does have one little dot on the top of one foot.

Her eyelashes and eyes are just as they should be and open and close perfectly.

She only has one flaw that I know of. She has a tiny little rub on her left cheek… It can be seen in certain lights, but isn’t noticeable unless you have a light shining her way. I’ll show you the spot and then some pictures where you don’t see the spot.

…you can’t see the spot all the time…

Next up is Kit. I’ve had her for quite a while and was going to use her, but Nellie is a pretty good stand in for a Depression girl, so I’m passing on Kit. She is a cute doll, but she has very loose legs. I was going to restring them, but I thought I’d give someone a good deal on her and let them fix her legs. (or you could just use her in a stand like I’ve had her, and get by with floppy legs.) I am selling her for $40.00, including shipping.

She has a beautiful head of hair, shiny and not dry. It’s swingy and nice. Her complexion is nice too…I don’t see any rubs on it.

Her cloth body is clean and her arms and legs are as well. Other than her floppy legs, she’s quite nice.
She too, came from a non smoking home and has no odors or smells. Her fingers and toes are just fine.

Her neck string has been cut but not all the way up to her neck.

I’ll show my last 2 dolls tomorrow… I have their pictures taken, but just need to edit and crop them… so come back tomorrow to see who else will be for sale… Then in a few days, I’ll have a few more dolls for sale…some of my smaller girls.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Ingrid..
      She’s yours….shall I send you a PayPal invoice?

      1. Ingrid,
For some reason I saw “Kirsten” when I saw your first post…but after a mad dash to the Post Office, I rescued “Kirsten” and will swap out Kit for you….
        I can’t believe I did that….
        Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Ingrid made a good choice. Kit wigs come in a couple of lengths and this is the one that I think is the best. Your Kit has a beautiful face.
My Kit is the only one of my dolls that clearly expresses whether she likes an outfit or not — and she’s always right.
When I bought your Julie, you pointed out one flaw that I didn’t see for a year. No buyer has to beware buying your dolls.

  2. Kind of overslept this morning. Looks like it isn’t just me either. Where is everyone? Oh, the poor dollies. What a chore having to decide amongst them. When I saw Kit, I really did a double take. I may have pushed that come to me button, but then I saw that Ingrid has claimed her which is great. I’ve always admired Kit’s wardrobe too. So many dolls. So little time. 🙂
Finally, have a sunny day. Supposed to hit 80 in the next few days, so I’ll be back to the daily watering schedule. Amazing how fast everything dries out. The roses are all blooming and I must say, lovely. So that watering definitely pays off. 🙂
Has your energy returned? Kitchen in the works?

  3. Kit is my favorite doll when sewing because her hair isn’t affected by all the trying on and off while fitting dresses. Lucky Ingrid!

So much for going to M&L Fabric store. Got there at 3 but they were closed. Open 10 am to 3 pm, but the fellow at the door said there is normally a two hour wait and they close the line at 1:30 as only a certain number of people are allowed in the store at one time. They have plenty of elastic but at 79 I’m not willing to go into a store that has been trafficked by that many people, let alone stand in a line for two hours for the privilege, ha, ha. I did get to the post office with three packages of masks for family and friends. Whew!

  4. Nora from California

Hi Jeanne. I would love to buy Kristen for my sister. She loves dolls just as much as all of us on this site. Send me and invoice and I will send you her address. She will be so excited.

  5. Congratulations, Ingrid! Kit is a sweetie. If I had more dolly money I would have her as well. I love the earlier Kits (this one) with the longer hair.
My Nellie who wears #33’s wig is my time traveler and the 1930’s is one of her eras. I love her in Kit’s green floral birthday dress, her first reporter dress with the reporter accessories, and her first school supplies with the real pencils and real wax crayons are definitely one of my favorite sets AG ever made. My doll, with her titian blonde hair and dark blue eyes (same color as Kit’s), makes a fairly convincing Nancy Drew and works well as an Edwardian, pioneer (yes, I’ve braided her hair), and Civil war as well. I think the bang less dolls are the most versatile, at least for my collection.
I have a pretty good guess on the other two Ag’s you are saying goodbye to. I’ll see if I’m correct tomorrow.

  6. It’s always hard to let some folks go when you either have too many and no room or you don’t use them as much for seeing as you do, Jeanne. I get it and have culled out many dolls from various groups. I’ve been thinking of selling just a few of my American Girl dolls but I’ll take on that task later.
What’s really increasing in my doll room are the AMG accessories! I can’t resist them. Some are quite large.
Looks like you’ve sold one all ready!

  7. The new doll owners must have a big smile on their faces! How fun for someone who has always wanted another American Girl doll. I hope some little girls will start the love of dolls with one of yours.
Had another family ask for masks so made 8 more…now they are getting to be a pain but glad to have been asked. Sure is a great way to use up fabric…and I do have too much!😉Have fun packing up dolls!

    1. Hi Kathie,
I’m glad to have ladies who needs my “discarded” dolls. I’ll probably replace them with others… (it HAS been known to happen in the past! ) :o)
No one has asked me about masks and I’m kind of glad… keeping up with Rebecca is enough for me right now.
      Thanks Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Wow, Jeanne, both dolls gone already! They are both wonderful dolls, and I’m so happy that they have found good homes. I didn’t want to comment on the blog earlier, since I didn’t expect to really get another doll, and just left that to the ones who were interested. Congrats to Ingrid!

I have wanted a Kirsten doll, but really, when it comes down to it, I plain just don’t have the room for a proper setting for her. I’m not a collector in the way of just amassing lots of dolls and have them everywhere. I really do want want that I have a plan for and can dress properly. I am happy with what I have, I guess.

Now what small dolls are going on the chopping block?? 😊

          1. Hi Linda,
I really am wacked out today, I thought Ingrid wanted Kirsten and all the while she wanted Kit. I had to make a mad dash to the PO, but I think it’s straightened out now…
            What a nut job I am today…
            Blessings, Jeanne

        1. I’ll bet that won’t last. She’s a beautiful doll and someone is going to be very happy with her.
Remember when you sent Julie in terribly cold weather and she got stuck somewhere and we both thought she was lost? She finally arrived shining clean and lovely and looked perfect in a plaid skirt, white turtleneck, and boots, and her new made-by-Jeanne fur coat and matching hat. I have had such fun collecting a wardrobe for her. I used my steam iron and steamed — not ironed — her hair, and the frizzies disappeared. They never showed up in her pictures except for the ones you sent to be absolutely clear about her condition. She time travels very well — Victorian Elegance is one of her favorite outfits.

          1. Thank you Marilyn,
It is SO SO nice to see your comments again! I have MISSED you!!
I DO remember when Julie seemed to take her sweet time getting to you that year. If I’m not mistaken she arrived at your house in a fur coat and hat AND sandals, didn’t she?
            Oh the memories!
            I remember Victorian Elegance! :o)
            Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Confusion, because in the very first post, Ingrid said she would like Kit… ?? Did she change her mind?

    1. Hi Theresa,
No, Ingrid didn’t change her mind… but I think I’m losing mine! She picked Kit and for some reason I SAW KIRSTEN… it’s all fixed now…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Hi Jeanne
I’m so sorry you had to make a mad dash to the post office but glad to hear you were able to retrieve Kirsten. I must say I’ve been eyeing Kit for some time now so you really made my day! Thank you so much. Here’s hoping no more mad dashes for a while.
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Thanks Ingrid,
I let out a big sigh of relief when the man at the Post Office was able to retrieve my box! At first he said he didn’t think he could… he called for his supervisor and she came out. I found a piece of paper in my purse and had written out your name and address, the size of the box and what was on the outside of the box. I asked if she could “please” try and find it. She did! I brought it home and did a little “switch-er-roo” and and now Kit is in your box! She’ll be mailed out tomorrow. Whew!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne
