I’m hurrying so you can see all the dolly Christmas dresses…

I know many of you have seen the majority of my past Christmas dresses, but I have new subscribers who haven’t, so please indulge me this season and enjoy a few more doll dresses if you will. If you’ve missed the previous Christmas dresses, you can click on the blog posts at the right side and see the previous posts. I have the last 10 posts listed there.

We left off with Molly and now I’m searching the next girl…

Ahh…it’s Kirsten’s turn. These 2 dresses were made for a couple. I say a couple because the man bought and surprised the wife with Kirsten and he was as excited as she was.

They were named Ron and Sherry… are you still out there? She sent me this picture of her Kirsten doll by the tree… and the NICEST letter thanking me for the dress. I can’t remember how it came that she ordered two but I’m pretty sure they were both hers…

This dress for Kirsten was for a customer named Barbara G. It was almost like Sherry’s.

This black and red Christmas dress was a cutie on Kirsten… I love mixing and matching fabrics on Kirsten. But I think you already know that! :o)

Sorry about all the shots of this next dress for Kirsten, but I just had to show you all the ways it could be worn… I LOVED this color combination for Christmas… a little bit “Limey” but I liked it!

I can’t remember if this was a Christmas dress or not, but my picture says it was taken in December 2017 so I’m guessing it was. I found this piece of red velvet embroidered fabric at a yard sale… actually it was a beanie cap the lady told me came from the Vatican. I hope it was okay to cut it up! It made such a pretty cap for Kirsten. It’s the last one I see for Kirsten.

Okay, let’s see who might be next…Wonderful…it’s Addy’s turn…

I don’t know why, but I always remember the name of this one… Glimmer of Glamour!

I don’t remember the name of this dress, but I remember the name of the dog was Chester. The things I remember… silly woman! :o)

That was all I could find for Addy… so the slide show for today is over. I hope these dresses gave you your first Saturday smile! :o)

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

P.S. Today was the first day since I fell that my thumb wasn’t hurting like crazy! Things are looking up! :o)

I’m glad your thumb is starting to feel better, Jeanne. That’s a step in the right direction!!

I don’t remember the first couple of Kirsten’s dresses, although I do remember the ones you made for Addy. Funny, because I don’t have Addy, but I do have Kirsten!

My favorite Kirsten outfit is, I think, the red and black one. I just love everything about it! I like the one with the touches of blue, too–looks very Swedish to me!

Of Addy’s dresses, I think her first one is my favorite.

No real sewing again today–that’s FIVE DAYS!! Gack! I’m having withdrawals! But at least I did start stuffing the body of a cloth doll I started some time ago, so that helped a little. I have one more present to buy, still have to wrap stuff (although the package for the grands in MO got mailed yesterday–whee!), and do my cards/letter. Our Christmas will likely be quiet this year, and we’ll do family things the weekend after Christmas–so maybe I’ll finally get to sew on Christmas Day!!

  2. I’m so happy that your thumb is coming around, Jeanne, so it looks like sewing will be too! (unless you need your leg for sewing!) Healing just doesn’t go as fast as we want it to!

Oh gosh, I just love Kirsten’s dresses! She is one I don’t have, but wish I did! I like that they are so detailed compared to dresses of today, and show her Swedish heritage. I don’t remember the first two dresses, were you writing your blog then? I do remember a couple of the others, but there is no way to pick a favorite!

Addy’s are the ones I do remember, except for the green one, Glimmer of gGamour. They are all darling, and I do like her in red!

I hope you did put a string of lights on your ficus tree. My mother did that in her dining room and had them all year round. They give a room a festive look!

I went out shopping yesterday and have had my fill of sitting in traffic and trying to find a parking spot! Online shopping is looking better every day, although it is a bit late for that now, but I am done! Yay!

  3. Love seeing them again and again, so many nice materials and trim! Have a good and hope better day!
Sylvia in Colder NH 5 degrees, to cold for me!

  4. Love all of the detailed Kirsten dresses. Beautiful combinations. And the hat/cap is so cute. I can see one of those in a smaller size paired with a little wool jacket. Would be so cute for a winter look on a Meadow doll. ๐Ÿ™‚
Glad you have your thumb back in operation. Time to enjoy that sparkling ficus tree and enjoy a cup of cocoa. ๐Ÿ™‚

Dear Jeanne, what wonderful holiday dresses.

So glad you are doing better.

A friend sent me a photo from the last tea. I didn’t have my camera. I will send it on to you.

  6. I love seeing all these beautiful Jeanne Marie creations. I like the “limey” dress. So colorful. I couldn’t pick a favorite of Addy’s. They are all lovely.

I did most of my shopping online this year. Within a half hour I had gifts on the way for nearly everyone and the gift cards preferred by my daughter and her family and my sister and her hubby were on the way to their recipients. But I still had a few things to buy at the mall. Walking around a mall with packages in my hands is not good for me these days. I know this because I went the other day to pick up Anna Bear for Jaiden, buy calendars for everyone (the selection was horrible, not a Thomas Kinkade in sight, but all have come to expect them each year so I did the best I could) and then get a Chinese backrub at Bamboo Massage. I decided to do the massage last so I parked outside the closest store to them. By the time I had purchased Anna Bear and walked to Books-a-Million for the calendars and back to the massage place I was aching all over. The massage helped but I realized mall trolling was no longer an option for me for Christmas shopping unless I get one of those carts like my grandmother used to use for grocery shopping.

I’m with Charlotte on the sewing. I’m anxious to get back to sewing something other than for an occasion. Hopefully I will get to do some of that before I think about Valentine outfits. I told David I was planning to spend Christmas Day hanging out in my sewing room cleaning up the messes I’ve made lately and maybe planning my next couple projects. Since we will be alone Christmas Day sounds like a plan to me. He will probably go to his shop.

So glad to hear your hand is doing better. I once had a sewing machine (Kenmore in a cabinet) that had a knee control. Something like that would be good for you right now if your hand heals before your foot.

    1. Charlotte Trayer

My mom’s New Home machine (c.1953) had a knee control also! It was difficult for me to use, because I was so short (well, I still am, but did grow Some before becoming an adult! LOL) plus it felt rather awkward. When I started sewing in 4H, some of my sewing was on my 4H leader’s Singer, which had a foot control, and which I much preferred. All of my own machines, past and present, have had foot controls.

    2. I learned how to sew at maybe 8 years old and learned on my mom’s machine with a knee control. I sewed many, many things for myself on that machine and I loved it! I find myself still searching with my knee on all the new machines I’ve had since, LOL. It was very easy for me to control the speed of the machine with my knee. Much easier than with my foot. : ) Love and Hugs, and a Super Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holiday if that applies, to everyone.

  7. Glad to hear your thumb is not hurting as much. Thank Heaven you didnโ€™t injure yourself more. At least youโ€™re on the mend!!
These dresses shown today are simply exquisite. The detail is wonderful especially on the combinations of the Kirsten outfits. Just beautiful.
I always love seeing your gallery of beautiful clothes!
    Take care and keep warm!๐ŸŽ„

  8. Glad you liked the pet quotes. Yes, some dogs don’t shed. My little Yorkie didn’t, but out Collie, Samoyed, Keeshond mix did. She did what was called “blowing hair”. I never minded though, she was the sweetest thing. She was a stray that walk up the driveway and straight into my heart!
Oh, what a feast for the eyes today. Those Kirsten dresses ar lovely. The “liney” one has one of my all time favorite bonnets, so sweet with the plaid ruffle. The little tree with the straw ornaments is so cute. I saw a place to buy them online last Christmas, but there were sold out at the time and this year I completely forgot.
The “December 2017” Kirsten dress I only recognize parts of and not the little purse. How strange, since I’ve been following your blog since summer of 2014.
Love, love, love Addy’s “Glimmer of Glamour” with all the extra details. I personally think since you didn’t get to make a Civil war Christmas dress, that should be the first spring one. I doubt you’ll object since you love making that era just as much as I love seeing them. Addy does look gorgeous in red. Glad your hand is really on the mend.
Did a quick trip out to the garden/gift store to have a last Christmas look and smell the trees. Can’t have a real one because my daughter got ill every year we did. Maybe people aren’t buying as much this year, but they had enough that it looks like Christmas is weeks, not days ahead.
