What’s so special about November 7th?

I listed my “Glimmer of Gold” dress set for the Twinkles, tiny 6 1/2″ My Meadow dolls, on Ebay this evening. The listing is a Buy It Now. If anyone is interested, you can see it by clicking HERE or click on the picture at the right side bar.

Today was super busy for me… I met with someone for a couple hours this morning, then I was doing techy stuff all afternoon… my camera is dead… my phone is close behind and my new fitbit arrived from being fixed, so I was setting it up.

So I decided to do a post on what was happening on November 7th the last 4 years since I’ve been writing my blog. Maybe these posts will be new to you! I hope you enjoy a blast from the past!

Here is the post from November 7th, 2017…

Felicity’s Fall Fancy

Now let’s go back to November 7th, 2016…and see what I was up to…

A doll wig restyled for Janie

Back in 2015, on November 7th, I had this to share with everyone…

From Feet to Fittings

…and back on November 7th, 2014, my 99th post, I wrote about this…

Which doll should be next in line for a Christmas dress?

Can you remember what you were doing on November 7th the last 4 years? :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Guess everyone is glued to election results this morning. Can I really be the first post?
I have absolutely no idea of what we were doing. I happened upon a 2015 calendar laying around and found the same. Blank space for that date. So what about you? Is this a special date for you? I guess we will call this “we have hot water today” day. Very glad that we were able to install a new water heater and drag the old one to the curb for pick up. Other person and I must be looking pretty decrepit as someone in the Home Depot parking lot jumped out of their truck and helped us load the water heater, and then this complete stranger painting the neighbor’s house ran across the street to help as we were dragging the beast across the front lawn. We, old people, were glad for the help.
    Enjoy your Nov. 7th.

    1. HI Joy,
I guess it’s just you and me this morning! No, today isn’t anything really special for me… just had to come up with a post and this is what popped into my brain for a title!

I’m so glad your hot water heater (heaters) are in and okay now! I bet you are too!
I haven’t looked for Bex yet… but will right now…
      Thanks Joy,
      Enjoy your 7th too!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Molly’s dress looks familiar, which is nice. I remember your foot cast, which looks as bad as I remembered. And you were getting ready for Christmas sewing, so it must be time for that again.
Choose one of your beautiful slips and make your first Christmas dress of the year to go with it. You have beautiful lace from various generous sources and could make a lovely, lacy Christmas dress to put us in the mood for a lovely, old-fashioned Christmas. In December you can link to your favorite candy recipe and share your best cookie recipe. It’s time to feel warm inside because warm outside isn’t happening.
Or inside, for me, now that I give it a moment’s thought. The furnace repair person should be getting back to me shortly. While he was working last night, I made what smells like a nice stew. Today I add the carrots and mushrooms.
I loved Joy’s story. It’s not so long ago that we were running to help other people. It’s good to have them wanting to help you — you deserve it.

    1. HI Marilyn,
What a good idea to use one of the slips as the start of my 2nd Christmas dress for the season.. I’ll have to look at my fabric stash and see who wins out! :o)

I’ve been wanting to make a big pot of chili myself… it’s been slightly cool around her the last few days… not cold, but just chilly! I have some veggies in the freezer…maybe I’ll make stew too!

I was just thinking last night about posting some of my recipes for Thanksgiving…maybe I’ll do that on Thursday as it will be 2 weeks from Thanksgiving, giving everyone enough time to get things together.

      Thanks Marilyn,
      Enjoy your 7th today!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Really can’t remember what I was doing last November 7. Probably thinking about our upcoming Thanksgiving celebration and how glad I was that my son and daughter-in-law were going to take over the preparations. They bought a new house earlier that year and were anxious to host the event. My husband does the pies and I have a couple specialties I do, so we helped out, but it’s good to have someone else take over the responsibility and my son and daughter-in-law are amazing cooks. Unlike me. I’d rather sew.

Since I was not a member of your blog until recently, it was fun for me to see some of what went on before I joined. Sorry about your foot. Been there, done that. Didn’t even want the t-shirt. I really admire you for being able to sell what you make. I would have had a terrible time letting loose of that adorable gold outfit. But selling would solve one problem I have, where to put all the wearing attire for my girls. My BAB Bunny, Felicity, has a curtain rod in a storage closet and in front of that is another curtain rod with my 18″ MA, Gracie’s wardrobe. When my grandson opened the closet one day he called to my granddaughter (who is just now really getting into dolls), hey Jaiden you really need to come see this. All my other children have their clothes in boxes with their names on them. Actually some share boxes because they share clothes, but it’s still a bunch. I was looking at Gracie’s clothes this morning and thinking some of them really do need to be moved out. Now to decide which ones.

I do love Janie’s wig transformation. Both my LDs have long hair, Claire (my Geri Uribe) has long, straight blonde hair and Fallon (my Magalie Dawson) has long curly chestnut hair. I wouldn’t dream of cutting either of their hair. I would just have to buy additional wigs if they want a new hairstyle.

I would have had trouble decided which doll should have a new dress for Christmas, but there were some interesting comments. I love to see period clothing but I’m not much for sewing it. I like the more modern looks for everyday and for holidays I’m all for the fancy stuff.

Hot here today, really cold starting tomorrow and for the foreseeable future. Last year we had snow in early December and my heater was out for a few days until my oldest son got free from fixing others to fix mine. Hopefully that won’t happen this year.

Okay, that’s enough. Got to get in and put the lace on Gracie’s slip. Have a great day!

    1. HI Barbara,
I didn’t “really” expect that anyone would remember what they were doing on a random date like November 7th… I was just fooling around. But most of us probably were thinking about the upcoming Thanksgiving dinners going on and what needed to be done ahead of time.
I’m glad you enjoyed the posts I used from a few years back. You can always go back and read them if you like… I know…who has time for that? :o)

I’ve seen some ladies dolly closets and it’s amazing how much we can collect for our dolls, isn’t it? I collect props so the clothes aren’t my problem…it’s props and fabrics and trims and buttons and patterns and laces and…well, I think you understand.

Thanks for the picture of Gracie’s slip… I’m glad you sent me a picture of it.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Dear Jeanne, hello. I can barely remember what I was doing yesterday (laugh). I need to have someone follow me around with a clipboard.
Today, I took Afternoon Tea with friends. I mentioned before that I LOVE to do this. I try to go at least once a month.
I know I will remember that tomorrow as I had so much fun. I might not remember anything else though (chuckle).

    1. Hi Dorothy,
I didn’t really expect many on here would remember what they were doing a year ago…it’s easier for me. My blog has become somewhat of a diary for me… I am all the time pulling something up to show someone because I featured it on my blog… it’s actually pretty nice to have it at my fingertips.
Your tea time sounds like it was a lot of fun. I’m glad you were able to do it. I had tea yesterday with Alba (Sarah’s mom) and it was very good.. Columbian Peach tea. :o)
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. No, I don’t remember, but considering all things it was probably doing homework for my classes or studying for a test.

  6. Congratulations!
Oh Gosh…has it really been that long? You have enriched my life and taught me lots of sewing tips and enhancements to my doll hobby.
Thank you for keeping us up on new dolls and news of your family…and recipes!
Now I am getting the emails a day late…that never happened before.
maybe i’ll cancel and sign up again and see what happens…
    Hugs!
