~ Glimmer of Gold ~ for Navi

The lights are flickering on my satellite modem so I’m going to hurry and just put some pictures on here and hope I can hit the publish button before it goes off like it did last night… Yikes!

Okay, the lights are still flickering, but I have the pictures loaded so I’ll try to hurry and fill in some things about this set.

Well, you should have known… My new little My Meadow, Navi, won my heart again. After I made her bed, I just had to make her something and that led me to creating a little scene for her to model in. I hope you like it. I haven’t decided if I’m going to put this on Ebay or if I’m going to list it on the My Meadows Fan Club forum….

Navi is a brunette in these shots… I think she looks good in the darker wig with the gold…

She is the teeniest, tiniest, 6 1/2″ cutie I’ve ever seen! I am totally smitten with her.

I had a sparkly gold sweater in my sewing stash and decided to see if I could make a little sweater for Navi from it. I took some tulle and lined it and it’s as light as a feather. 2 pearl buttons finished off the front.

Well, is that enough gold for one little girl? I think so!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, my goodness, Navi’s new outfit is just adorable! I’m quite certain she Loves her twirly “ballerina” skirt and the matching shoes, and is glad you included a little sweater to keep her warm. Her little “bedroom” is just adorable, too.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch, and I took pictures! Will email you shortly.

    1. HI Charlotte,
I love Navi in this set too… she looks good as a brunette I think. She DOES love her ballerina skirt and yes, she’s been hopping on the bed all morning.
I have more I want to add to make her a sweeter bedroom, but this was a fun start.

      Oh, yay… pictures!
      Thanks, Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I too, am saying “Oh my goodness” to Navi’s new little outfit, Jeanne! What a sweet little scene, that just makes me oooh and ahh over it! I love all the gold sparkles and I’m sure Navi does too! That little bed is just the perfect thing for her to pose with! I can’t believe how tiny she is, and you still sew the perfect little outfit for her………those tiny buttons are so cute!

    1. HI Linda,
Oh, I’m so glad you like Navi’s little outfit and her new bedroom! It was fun collecting things and using them as props. A few of those things came from Savers! Yay Savers! I’ll have to keep an eye out for more bedroom stuff.
Those “buttons” are actually just pearls… :o)
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Trying to figure out the sweater. Did you cut down one in size or knit it? It is adorable. We really need some winter clothes around here for the Twinkles as well as the Dumplings. Just in case we ever get cold weather. I believe it was 85 here yesterday. 🙂
Outfit is great. Perhaps, try posting on the Meadow site and if no takers, put on Ebay. Navi is so sweet in the dark wig. Such a great model. This would be a great dress for Thanksgiving or the holidays.
Was just wondering how the cabinets are coming along? Any painting going on?

    1. HI Joy,
The “sweater” is made from a gold adult sweater. I just stitched around the edges of the pattern to hold it in place, (with a piece of paper underneath), and then lined it with tulle. The sweater had a pretty small knitted stitch so I was hoping it would work.
I took your advice and listed it on the Meadow Fan Club site and then included the pictures I had taken of it on my flickr page. I also added a link to my blog post for today… (shameless plug!) :o)

Cindy was asking me about the cabinets and I told her I plan to paint on them next week… It has just been too hectic around here… although I don’t really see it slowing down anytime soon, but I want to get some paint on them… I haven’t forgotten…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you so much Shara,
I just love this tiny little girl! She could take up ALL my time IF I let her! I wish my Dumpling Bailey would get here…but I know I have a long wait on her. I’m anxious to see how things go when I sew for her.
      Thanks Shara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you Carolyn,
I appreciate your kind comments about Navi and her “new bedroom scene!”
She is a challenge to sew for but I love it!!!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I was thinking, “Oh, my goodness!” and I see that I wasn’t the only one. What a great outfit! What a great setting!
I’d try the My Meadows fan club forum, just to see how it goes. Besides, they deserve to see the bed and the bedroom.
You must have been inspired to work so quickly. I’ll be very interested to see how this goes. I hope Navi can keep it for a few days.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I did decide to list it on the My Meadow Fan Club and have had a few comments on it, but it’s still for sale.
It was a lot of fun putting things together for her bedroom. I’d like to do a little more but I’ll have to wait till next time.
I’ve actually been working on it for a few weeks…a little bit at a time.
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Dear Jeanne, Navi is adorable in her new outfit. She sure has captured your heart! I think she is going to talk you in to making an entire wardrobe for her (chuckle).

    1. HI Dorothy,
Yes, my goodness, yes, Navi has truly captured my heart…and anyone who has her, knows why! She truly is a little doll!
I’ve been working on shoes for her, trying to still perfect them…
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. She looks cute as a brunette as well in her short little bob. What a sweet little outfit. I guess Navi kicks off the Christmas sewing season in her sparkly dress and jacket. The bedroom scene is cute as well with all the miniature props. you certainly whipped this outfit out in nothing flat.

    1. HI Laura,
Thank you for the compliments! As I just told Marilyn, I’ve been working on Navi”s dress set for a couple of weeks, doing a little bit each time I can. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing it.
I realized it too, I guess Navi IS starting out the Christmas season for me.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. I love these My Meadow dolls. They are so adorable. I really wanted one so I did some research. I don’t see me getting one in this lifetime. My husband had apoplexy when he found out how much my two LDs cost (the second more expensive than the first). I don’t want to give him a full-blown heart attack by presenting him with one of these. He’s usually very accepting of my adopting new dolly children, but he does have his limits. He has a little trouble wrapping his head around the $500 plus price tags of my two LDs. He like my H4H dolls and knows I love to sew for them, but they only cost $39.95 each. He doesn’t see enough difference in the dolls to warrant the difference in cost. I tried to equate it to something in his workshop. Couldn’t think of a thing.

I love Navi in her beautiful gold dress. And I’m so glad she now has a beautiful new sweater. She was looking rather chilly. I always save “old” things to turn them into new. Last summer I cut off several pairs of my grandson’s blue jeans to make them into shorts. So all my kiddoes will be getting new blue jeans and skirts this winter with the leftovers. That is as soon as I finish my current projects. My two LDs just got new fall dresses as well as my H4H Dell. I’m working now on a dress for my H4H Lillian. Then there is Christmas on the way and new Christmas dresses for some. Guess I’d better get a move on.

    1. HI Barbara,
I know what you mean about the prices on the dolls and the hubs not understanding the orice! I can’t buy every doll I’d love to have, so I have to make sure I REALLY love the ones I’m able to buy.
I’m always so far behind on my sewing for “the holidays” so getting Navi to kick off the season was a certain thing for me!!
I hope you find time to get your sewing done!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Oh Jeanne – I love your work, it is an inspiration to me! I have only just begun to sew for Navi/Ella and her tiny body is a real challenge, but a fun one.

    1. HI Lori,
Good for you!! Keep at it and don’t give up! Isn’t she just the sweetest little girl? I love her.
      Blessings, Jeanne
