Isabelle with a moose… YAY…it’s a dolly post!

As I was going through my archived pictures and saving them, I tried the best I could to write down a quick description of the doll dresses I saw that I knew I hadn’t shown before, so I could go back and find them to share with you. I’m pretty sure this is a new one for you….at least I hope it is. It was an early one I made for Isabelle when she was brand new. I have used this fabric before and it’s actually a Valentine dress from 2010. I called it “Valentine Blues.”

Isabelle’s dress is just a simple little girl’s style but the fabric is so beautiful. This is one I should have bought more of…

Her wool felt jacket is lavishly decorated with hand embroidered silk ribbon. I love doing that!

The hat has a touch of the fabric on the brim.

It didn’t take Isabelle long to find the Dolly Toy Box and she wanted to have this moose as her accessory! Works for me! I hope you enjoy the pictures!

I hope you enjoyed that slide show from 2010 of Isabelle and her moose!

See you tomorrow, and thanks again for waiting for us while we worked on the church kitchen!
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Here we go again, just lost the comment I made a few seconds ago……ugh! Not easy on an iPad, at least for me! I have not seen this outfit, but do know that you are the one to beat with those darling embroidered jackets and hats!
Going to stop before I lose this!

    1. Thanks Linda,
      Oh, good…something new to see….I was hoping I hadn’t shown it before…
Sorry about you losing your comments…that has happened to me twice this week…ugh!
Isn’t it nice to see the sun out today? I was ready for the rain and the wind to go! It’s been too gloomy lately around here.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Isabelle is such a darling, and that’s a wonderful Easter outfit. I suppose it might have been a wonderful Valentine’s Day outfit too, but it certainly works for Easter. I love your silk embroidery and always look forward to seeing more of it. Maybe for this Easter?
The time is flying, isn’t it?
I think we all enjoyed your church kitchen adventure. You’ll have to tell us more about the anniversary celebration too. I hope the kitchen stayed clean and lovely but that good food was made there.
Now (you can tell by the nagging) we are all looking forward to the next kitchen adventure, the one that will happen in your own house. It’s so nice to know that the cabinets are all ready and waiting, even if you need a few days to recover and sew before you start on that project.
Which doll will be the winner for modeling the next cute outfit? I’m going to vote for your newest Little Darling. Let’s see who else has a favorite to suggest.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Thank you for your sweet compliments on Isabelle’s dress set. I’m hoping against hope that I can get another “embellished” Easter dress made soon!!!

The celebration for our 30th Anniversary wasn’t at our church…well, we had church there, but that kitchen wasn’t even involved. We just wanted to get it fixed up before all of the alumni came in. It was so icky looking and we didn’t want them to come back and see that it was still the same old way that it was when they left, some of them 30 years ago. It will be used but it wasn’t used this weekend. It was more like a display kitchen this weekend.:o)

Cindy texted me and said they were coming home this Saturday, to actually do some work on my mom’s house before we put it up for sale. But then she also said if I would rather her help me with my kitchen, she was up for that too. I really want her help but I know we need to get momma’s house ready for sale so I’m kind of torn about what to do. Maybe a little of both….
I’m not sure who’s up next…I was hoping to get some outside pics of Molly’s pink and white dress today. Its FINALLY a nice day!!!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Your work is beautiful on this ensemble for Isabelle, Jeanne. I’m glad you like working the silk ribbon embroidery because I surely enjoy seeing it. No doubt the winner of this outfit finds it stunning. Thanks for such pretties on this sunny day here!

    Blessings.

    1. Thank you, Becky,
I’m glad it’s new for everyone today…it’s about time I showed something pretty…in dabric, I mean!
Glad it’s sunny today for you too! I love it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Isabelle looks lovely. You are so talented with your hand embroidery and incorporating ribbon is such a wonderful touch and your tiny stitches are so straight and even.

As someone who has been through many remodeling projects, I enjoy seeing / reading about your projects and life as well as dolls and sewing. Your blog is very versatile and you have so many wonderful readers I look forward to reading it everyday (when I can).

I agree with Marilyn, it would be great to see your newest Little Darling but I also would love to see Elizabeth in a spring Regency outfit.

Wishing you all a great day ~

    1. Thank you Leigh,
I appreciate your kind comments on my sewing! I also appreciate that my blog doesn’t just have to be entirely about sewing… for you to enjoy it.
Well have to see who is next….:o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Congrats to Isabelle on her 8th birthday. Time flies as they say.
I’d like to see another jacket similar to that but maybe with a short skirt and top instead of a dress. Perhaps with a pair of leggings too.
How’s your weather? We actually had some much needed showers last night, but they are over now. Need more rain.

    1. Thanks so much for the compliments Joy.
I appreciate them and also thanks for wishing Isabel happy 8th birthday! Our weather is lovely today! The nicest day we’ve had in a really long time!
      Thanks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Such a lovely fabric to create a beautiful ensemble!
Your silk ribbon embroidery is inspired:)
    Isabelle’s “Chocolate Moose” is darling!

    1. Hi Shara…
Oh I like your “Chocolate Moose” term! Perfect for another dress sometime!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. This dress is adorable. I am not much of a Valentine’s person I think it has gotten too commercialized and over the top in what people spend.

Isabelle’s dress just speak to me because I tend to like darker colors rather than pastel. I am not a pink or yellow person. The colors sum up the title for those of us that have the Valentine’s Blue’s. The fabric and print just give a hint that is its Valentine’s themed.

The hat actually caught my attention first. Oh my, wish you would give lessons. The brim is flawless and stays up perfectly. Onto the jacket with your embroidery and ribbon flowers they are just gorgeous. I love to embroider but have only tackled the ribbon a few times. Can’t wait to see what you have planned next. The moose…what can I say, I love them.

The kitchen is looking good and nice to have a party and relax.

    1. Thanks for your sweet comments about Isabelle’s dress, Sandra. I think she looks really pretty in blues and I guess you do too.
It was a fun dress set to make and since she was new, it was fun to see her model.

I’m not sure who is next. But somebody will be…soon!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Hi Mary,
Thank you so much for the compliments on my silk ribbon embroidery. I love doing it and wish I could find more time to do special things like that on my doll dresses.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. I remember that fabric… I had some at one time too. The design and colors in it are so interesting. The things you can do with felt are amazing. That hat and jzcjst are too cute for words. Hope you have s good week!

    1. Hi Kathie,
It’s a pretty fabric, isn’t it? Funny thst you had some too. Thanks for your sweet compliments on Isabelle’s dress set! She did look awfully sweet in it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Dear Jeanne, Isabelle looks so regal. If she receives an invitation to the upcoming nuptials across the pond, she could definitely wear that dress (smile).

  10. So glad to see Isabelle’s ADORABLE “Valentine Blues” outfit for the first time, Jeanne! Yes, you should have bought more of that lovely fabric. It has such a charming vintage quality, and your ribbon embroidery on the jacket is a work of art. I will take one in my size, please! 😉

Please don’t worry about the content of your blog, Jeanne. We may have begun reading it for the beautifully made doll clothes, but it is YOU that keeps us following along! Like your church kitchen, you seem to make every day an adventure and turn the “ordinary” into the extraordinary. It’s fun and exciting following along with you through your posts, and we usually learn something in the process.

Speaking of adventures, Cindy is coming, yippee! That means fun and excitement for sure–fresh home decorating ideas, wonderful artistic projects, new and surprising solutions to things–and lots of sister time! Can’t wait to hear what this visit will bring, all told through the wonderful musings of Jeanne Marie! You thought your dolly design was your gift. Turns out, your writing is a gift, too. Looking forward with anticipation to the next chapter!

    1. Hi Anne,
Thanks so much for your fun comments. I probably would have worn a dress like that too…I like feminine and romantic things!

What you said about not always having a sewing post sort of put my mind at ease. Cindy said the same thing to me this morning…hmmm…

Thanks do much Anne! I need to learn to not stress about my posts…Cindy hinted at helping me with my kitchen and there’s no one I trust more than her when it comes to decorating. So I do want to take advantage of her time here.
      Thanks so much Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne
