Hi ladies,
I was on the phone with Word Press for 2 hours today and was getting helped. They helped me get the comments back, the Contact Me tab at the top was restored and the vertical posts I was seeing in my Dashboard were made horizontal.
Oh no… It’s not back completely. It’s not anywhere near how it was before (at least as I’m typing my post!) I tried to “add a new post” and it usually comes up with a page that lets me pick how I want to write things… bold, in color, and add pictures in between. The way it is now, is there is just a blank page and I’m typing, without any idea of what it’s going to look like. Now when I go back to my published posts, all in a row, they come up just like usual. So I’m guessing after I type on this blank page, it will do the same thing, but I have no idea for sure. I will have to call them back again tomorrow and see if they can now “fix the fix!”
I have NO idea how to add any pictures so I’ll just open this up and see if the comments work. At least it’s a start.
Maybe just tell me what you have been doing…
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi everyone, just testing this out…
I just saw this and thought I’d give it a try.
Yay! It worked. But I guess no one else has tried it yet.
I tried earlier, but it would not come up as a comment. No idea why not as yours looks great! And there was no place to put my name or email.
Joy
Hooray!! Exclamations of joy! The comments are back!
I am still not getting my reminder email that a new blog has posted, and I had a difficult week, so it wasn’t until today at our prayer service, when we were sharing concerns (and I mentioned Jeanne and George again, and had no update as yet), that I realized I had forgotten to read the last few. So right off tonight I went back and caught up–and added comments on the butterfly post and the question post. And they worked!!
As to my difficult week….Saturday when I turned my cell phone on before leaving the house, I found a voice mail from Eddie, my friend Liz’s husband. He had called sometime Friday (after 4-ish, when I came home and turned my cell phone off), saying that Liz was in the hospital and “not going to make it”. I called him immediately, asked “what’s up”, and he said that Liz died Friday night. She was 79.
Liz was one of my first friends when we moved to Seattle in 1960; we met in a class at our junior high school. Since she had started kindergarten at age 4, we were in the same class, even though she was a year younger. We became friends right away.
The following year, due to whatever “system” the school district used, most of our class (including Liz) went to one high school and the rest of us went to another couple of high schools. We lost track. But then, our freshman year at the junior college, we found each other again, and have been friends ever since.
Liz has had numerous health issues in recent years, and we hadn’t seen each other in several years, but we stayed in touch. She called me a month ago and we had a nice visit; I was thinking it was time to call her again……….
When my son heard, he cam down and spent a couple of hours with me Saturday, and we went out for pizza before he headed home.
On a more positive note, since before all this with the comments, I have finished a blouse and started a purse, and I am knitting another baby sweater. No idea who it’s for, I just like making baby sweaters!
It’s so good to see some comments again. So sorry about your friend. Losing good friends we’ve had for years is definitely a downside of getting older. I remember my father-in-law lamenting this often. I lost one of my junior high friends a couple years back. I moved during high school and we lost touch but found each other again on Classmates. I hadn’t heard from her for awhile so I checked her Facebook page only to discover she had passed away. I contacted her daughter and was told she had a double lung transplant and seemed to be doing great until everything went crazy. It was during COVID and she could only have her husband at her bedside. Prayers for you Charlotte.
