My Meadow Dolls… have you seen them?

Have you been seeing all the hype about the My Meadow dolls? It’s really out there. They are the cutest little dolls you’ve ever seen…well, most people think they are. I know I’ve been intrigued by them and just looking at all the images of them wasn’t cutting it, so I went to the only person I know who has them…Joy. I asked her a few questions and she answered me right away. I thought I might share what she shared with me.

But before I do, let me show you a couple of them… and see what you think. These pictures came from the Meadow Facebook page. I hope it was okay to share some pictures of the dolls…

If you get to the end of this post and want to see more, just Google, My Meadow Dolls, or Meadow dolls, and hit images…you won’t believe how many dolls you’ll see… :o) It’s a good thing!

This is 11″ Giggi and doesn’t she have the most infectious smile? If you want to see more of her, click HERE.

This is Tella… Joy has one of these little cuties…

Here is Mini Bailey, painted by Charlene Smith…(she is one of the artists who paints the dolls)

Anyway, that gives you an idea of how cute these dolls are. Below is the information I received from Joy…along with some pictures I’ve added.

“I am no expert! Miroslava, aka My Meadow, is the maker of these wonderful dolls. She is in Sweden. You can google her website. Meadow dolls.com If you take a look, there are galleries with all of her dolls. The only way you can get one is to order on open enrollment which occurs every month or two. Each time it is for a different doll and perhaps new shades. Such as chocolate or honey etc. Right now Mini Bailey is up for preorder until the end of July. You can see her preorder information HERE.

This is the Mini Bailey in Honey and then in Tan…

Sometimes, they come up on ebay, but not often. If you belong to the Meadow Dolls facebook page, some may come up there to purchase also.

Here is another picture by Charlene, of Mini Bailey…

There are many sizes and there are fans of each. Such as big Saffi who is an adorable 18″. There are some medium girls more the size of the Little Darlings, but I haven’t really looked at them. My favorite group are the Dumplings who are 11″ and are in quite a few different molds. Including mini Saffi, Molly, Tella, Patti, Giggi, Ella, Bailey and several more including a boy Nicco due out in the fall. They are all adorable and fully poseable. And then there are the tiny girls called the Twinkles who are 6″ and delightful. All the dolls can be wigged and have eyes that can be changed. When you order a doll, you specify if you want a basic doll or one with a factory face up. I have always gone with the factory as I am not into painting a doll myself. There are also several wonderful artists who paint face ups too. You can add freckles etc. When the dolls arrive, they come with random eyes which you put in place with silicon wax, which is available at any drug store and sold as ear plugs.
When you order a doll, you can expect it to take between 6 and 12 months to arrive. They have to be molded, painted and then shipped to Sweden. Then Meadow checks them and sends them out. So the wait is pretty long but well worth it because they are just amazing. I have two Meadow girls, both Dumplings, and another on order. They are so cute. Their fashions don’t take much fabric either. If anyone has Ann Estelle dolls, some of their outfits can fit the Dumplings. Pants are a stretch as the Dumplings have a large derriere. They do make cute little siblings for all of the bigger girls too. And the best part is that they can pose and actually hold things. They are lots of fun.
The prices aren’t cheap, but then nothing is now is it?”

I asked Joy which size dolls she thought were the most popular…

“In my opinion, I think the Dumplings 11″ are the most popular right now. There are also fans of the 18″ Saffi, but she is quite expensive. Close to a thousand I think because of her size. Then there are the Twinkles that are 6″ and are very popular also. I actually just bought one. They are $545.00. But, I bought my girl from the facebook group from Charlene Smith who runs the US part of Meadow dolls. She is the administrator of the facebook group.

The best ones for sewing are probably the Dumplings and big Saffi. Little Saffi is identical to the 18″ but available as a Dumpling 11″. People advertise all of the time on the Meadow face page and also on ebay and etsy. There are some very cute outfits. Some that look nice, but the sewing is much to be desired. And others really professionally done. Meadow hasn’t had an open time for the medium girls in some time. I think Avery is the same size as the LD’s.

I ordered Giggi in the last order, but she won’t be here for some time. Again, in my opinion, if you were to sew for one, I’d probably order a honey or fair color. I have Tella in fair and Patti in honey. Giggi will be the tan and I plan on a darker wig for her. Or so I think. We’ll see as I have lots of time to shop. 🙂

Sometimes, Meadow may mention on the order website what is coming next. And then there will be hints on the facebook page. But, other than that, it is not known in advance. I’m not sure what is up for August, but after the convention in September, there will probably be an order for Nicco, a boy Dumpling 11″ who is being presented there. Of course, Nicco would be an adorable girl too and some have mentioned that they plan on that. There is a pic of him on the fb page. Just search for Nicco.

As to bodies, the Dumplings 11″ are closer to Ann Estelle 10″ except for the bigger rear. Nothing like the Little Darlings.
So, did you join the facebook page? If not, I would then you can look way back and see all of the different dolls and all of the clothing being made for them. Basically, the competition. I think there is definitely a market for more sellers of cute quality outfits. There is also a place for sellers to post what they have for sale and where they can link to their facebook or etsy sites. They often show their outfits and models in cute settings like at the beach with a swim outfit or at a garden party with a fancy outfit. Fun to see the photos as well as the outfits.
If I’ve forgotten anything, let me know.”

Thank you Joy, for all that information… I just mostly wanted to get the information out to everyone in case they NEED, I mean WANT a new doll! :o) I’m just looking at them, but I have to tell you, that little Giggi was the one that got away for me…she is so adorable!

So, who here has any of the My Meadow dolls? Anyone have any pictures of yours? We’d love to see them…

See you when I can,
Blessings, Jeanne

Thanks Joy and Jeanne for all this info on the My Meadow dolls–they are much cuter than I thought they would be! Hmm, I could be in trouble here! LOL

    1. HI Charlotte,
They really ARE adorable aren’t they? If I let myself, “I” could be in trouble too…I need to stop looking at them. :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I collect My Meadow dolls and sew for them. I have 14″ Avery, and 2 Dumplings, Giggi and Patti. Also I just got 18″ Bailey. I went to ID&TS in Orlando and met Miroslava. She is the sweetest person! I’ll send you some photos.

    1. HI Sissy,
I saw your name beside a couple of the threads on the Meadows Facebook page. ..so I realized you had one or more.
Are they really as fun to have as they look like they would be?
      We’ll be waiting for your pictures… :o)
      Thanks Sissy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. I sent photos, as you know, and I LOVE them. They are so cute and fun to dress, change wigs, etc. I can’t afford them all but I have 2 dumplings and one tween. I am getting a twinkle soon.

  3. They are darling. It is all in the faces, I think. I’m not in the market right now but I always love reading about new dolls!
Hope you have a good weekend!
    Take care —

    1. HI Charlotte,
I know not everyone wants one of these, but I thought they were cute enough that everyone would enjoy seeing them. Glad you did!
I do plan on having a good weekend. Today was great! My sister Deb and her hubby are coming back through this evening, and are going to eat dinner with us. She’s been out in PA visiting my sister Cindy!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Great photos. It is hard to believe that these little sparklers are only 11 inches tall. Just packed with cuteness. I think the new little boy coming out soon is Nikko/Niko, not Nicco. I would love to have him join my girls.
Sissy makes some adorable professionally made outfits and the cutest shoes too.
Hope your back is on the road to recovery and you have some time for yourself and the next project. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I was reading on the facebook page and the new boy coming out was spelled Nicco by Charlene… I used that spelling, but I’ll watch and see what it is…and correct my post accordingly.
The dolls are so adorable…I’m doing a little “thinking” about the dolls I have now… “just in case”… :o)
Thanks Joy… oh and my back IS better…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. The boy is Nicco, and I will get him in Sept. at MDCC. Can’t wait! Also, Miroslava wanted some new faces to inspire her and had a contest. Many of us entered photos of our children/grandchildren and my photo of my granddaughter at 6 months old was one of the winners! My prize is to get a free dumpling of her when she is made. I have no idea when it will be but it is so exciting! Bailey was made that way, too, from someones child photo.

  5. I’m looking forward to Sissy’s photos. The Meadow’s website is lots of fun. Don’t you love looking at someone’s beautiful work? Some of the dolls look slightly like Kaye Wiggs’ work, but many look unfamiliar and charming to me. Thank you so much for this interesting and delightful column. I am so glad to know that this dollmaker is a very sweet person. I think it shows in her work.
The Farmers’ Market calls — I want to be there before the sidewalks melt.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I just wanted to “enable” anyone who needed a new doll…that’s mostly it! :o)
I’m glad you had fun looking at all the cuteness in those faces.

I also hope you made it to market before things got too sticky for you! We’ve had a nice, relatively cool day today… a breeze has been blowing all day! YAY!
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks for the link to the new Sonja Hartman dolls, Jane. Now there are 2 different directions for anyone to go in if they have a bad case of “dolly fever!”
They are cute little dolls…thanks for sharing.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. How nice of Joy to introduce us to a different set of dolls, than most of us are familiar with! I don’t consider myself a doll collector, so I really don’t consider other types of dolls from the ones I have already, but it is fun to see what others collect. So yes, it is nice to have others send along pictures for us to enjoy!
How about this weather today, Jeanne? It’s nice without the horrible humidity! Had to laugh at Marilyn, wanting to get to the farmers market before the sidewalks melt! I’m sure it’snot Funny other, andI know how it feels, but for once, we aren’t having that!
Wasn’t that a shock to hear a out the tragedy in Branson? I have never wanted to ride the Ducks, but wonder if you have. For sure,I never will now!

    1. HI Linda,
I thought it only right to share Joy’s dolls and the Meadow dolls website with everyone…it’s my duty, don’t you think… because you never know who might be looking for a new doll! :o)

Yes, I’ll take a day like this any day of the week! It has been wonderful today… so nice to have that sticky humidity gone! We’ve had a nice breeze all day, have you?

It was awful to hear about that Branson tragedy. My niece, Molly, worked at Branson, as the facebook and social media person for Silver Dollar City. She worked close by where it happened, I think. She was torn up…
I’ve never been on the boats…
      Thanks Linda,
      blessings, Jeanne

  7. Hi Jeanne – About a year and a half ago you talked about your Nyssa, and I fell in love with her. That led me to Resin Cafe, and there I saw an elf doll from My Meadow named Makiko that was up for preorder. I thought she was just so sweet, so I ordered her. She is one of the bigger, older looking girls – about 16″ – with the slimmer body. So thanks to you, even though you never knew it, I own a My Meadow doll. I have been tempted by the smaller My Meadow girls, but haven’t caved…… yet….. mostly because I really got into the Kaye Wiggs girls, of which I now own several, including a beautiful tan Nyssa. 🙂

    Theresa

    1. HI Teresa,
How wonderful that you’ve had your Meadow doll for all this time! It’s funny how dolls tend to go in cycles too… but some just keep getting better! I think the My Meadow dolls will be around for a long time!
Congrats on your Nyssa…she is really hard to come by!
      Thanks for sharing!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Dorothy L in Pa.

A BIG thank you to you and Joy for the wonderful uplifting post! I really appreciated an honest and relatable description. Was fun to pick which ones resemble the grandkids.

Just love seeing a post from you in my email. Hope your back is feeling better and hubby is doing well. Smiles to all!

    1. Hi Dorothy,
My back is better… if I could just get rid of this “fever.” Dolly fever that is! I have it, but can’t do anything about it NOW! I think I might have it for a long time! A few of my dolls are in danger, I fear! :o)
I’m glad you had fun looking at the new dolls today from Joy and others!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. The 11″ Meadowdoll Dumplings have joined my dolly family. They are so adorable and I have really been enjoying them. I have created 4 patterns for them and am working on more. You can find my patterns in my Etsy shop:

    God Bless
    Marsha

    1. HI Marsha,
I DO see that you’ve jumped on the Meadow Doll bandwagon. I spied Patti, Saffi, Molly and Giggi (I think) in your patterns! They are adorable and so are your patterns. Congrats on your girls…
I must have been under a rock to not have known about them… course I have been a little busy this year! :o)
      Thanks Marsha,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. I have 3 of Marsha’s patterns and have made them up several times. They are great!

      1. HI Lynn,
It was MY pleasure to pass along this fun information about these dolls and patterns!
        blessings, Jeanne
